Hi Everyone,
*So I've revised this group because I want to be able to share information, get ideas, and be held accountable. I think by having more members that I will benefit more from it!
Since there are a lot of us Maritimers here I thought I would create a group where we can connect and have weekly weigh-ins. I'm also going to track my inches because losing inches is my main target right now.
I'll be posting my starting stats tomorrow morning and we'll have the weekly weigh-in every Monday! Maybe this will help us curve our weekend appetites :)
Please add anything else you wish to share ..i.e receipes, daily menu, workouts etc.
Jenn (NS)
That chocolate sounds pretty neat Jenn- how much is it for a bar? I don't think I have the discipline for a workout DVD...I know myself and I would do it 2 days in a row and then have some sort of "reason" why I can't do it the next day and then it would just gather dust! lol- be sure to let us know how it is!
So Opa, did the waiter take it back like you asked? You must be looking forward to getting back home :)
Yesterday started well, ended bad :S
So, today I am exercising lots today to help offset yesterday!
B- usual=270
L- sandwich and salad (same as the last 2 days)=400
Supper- 1C chili, 20 rounds=350
Snacks- apple, moccaccino bar=200
Total= 1220
Hope I can stick to this!
I'm not 100% sure how much it costs, but let's just say I know it's not cheap! I'll let you know once I find out more about it. I'm excited for my new DVD to come, I honestly think this is what I need to whip my butt into shape..and to lose those few inches I need to in order to look smokin' hot in my wedding dress.
I had a great day yesterday, only thing I cheated on was I had 2 100 cal packs of bits and bites last night! Oh well...
B: Activia Fibre yogurt, nature valley bar (290)
L: Plain Tuna on Melba toast, apple/mango sauce (350)
S: Apple, snack pack bits & bites (150)
D: No idea really, possibly pizza..getting together with my group from school to work on a project. I will have around 700 cals left to get me at 1500 calories.
Ohhhh and not sure if I've mentioned this before as I don't add drinks to my meals but I don't drink anything but water....there is the slight occassion where I have pop (maybe once a month) and of course alcohol when I drink...but no coffee, milk, tea, etc for me on any given day......JUST water.
I'm like you Jenn, I only drink water throughout the day. I make an exception once in awhile for coffee, which I never ever drink at home but might have 1-3 cups a week elsewhere.
I'm not a big pop drinker, but hubby brought home some Coke Zero (has no cals), but when reading the ingredients, I saw that it has phenylenasomething in it. One half of the Phen-Phen that was banned about 5 years back. That can't be good! Tastes alright, though...
On a side note, I had an unauthorized snack this afternoon, about 250 calories worth of chips. At least I have 800 calories logged on the bike so far to compensate :
^how do you function on so little coffee??????????????? It's crazy that they're putting phen phen in beverages!!!! Coke has really come full circle!
I just ate at the California Pizza Kitchen with the fam (they're finally going home! Their visit was WAY too long!) Jesus. That place is horrible! I tried to find nutritional information online & apparently they refuse to list any. WTF?
I read online that somebody guestimated the tortilla soup was 150ish & a shrimp fresh rolls was 250ish, but they arrived doused in sesame & peanut oils & the tortilla soup was a creamy puree! Ugh! I ended up having 1 slice of pizza instead & now I have horrible heartburn. It should be a crime for businesses to refuse to provide people with what's in their food! I think their secret is gasoline! Disgusting!
Anyway!
1/2 Lite english muffin, egg, cheddar & ham
1/4 tuna salad on 12 grain sandwich & 2 chocolate kisses
1c pineapple & chicken leg
warm chocolate vitamuffin with 1/4 cup sugarfree ice cream, sugarfree chocolate syrup & reddi whip (ahhhhhhh)
Nature Valley peanut butter granola bar
BBQ Chicken Pizza & a beer
2 oz wine ( I had to! I just spent the week with my family!)
1392! Sweet!
Hello everyone!
I'm new here, but have been on Calorie Count for about 6 months. Queenmedia sent me the link to this group- Thank You!
I am also from the Maritimes- Halifax, NS. I'm a 25 yr. old mother of 1 (4 years). I work full time and have seriously neglected myself for the last few years. I currently weigh 200lbs. I'm also 5'3''. At my lowest weight I was 130 and would like to get back to that weight by the end of 2008.
I used to belong to Weight Watchers and loved it! It wasn't really the food plan that made me loose weight (I lost 13lbs in a month) it was mostly the meetings. When I feel like I have support or obligation (like being weighted in every week) I seem to stick to the diet and routine. But I thought I would save a little $$ and do it on my own. lol it didn't work out so well.. I gained all 13lbs back and then some. I know WW isn't for everyone but I found it useful :)
I look forward to getting to know you all. Any other Halifax ppl on here?
Ttyl
Wow, those diet drinks scare me!! If I do drink pop, I just go for the full flavor light color! Not great, but it's only once and awhile.
HI "chubbygirl82"...I'm in Dartmouth!! I'm also 25 :) I think you will find this forum really useful, can't speak for anyone else but I really do! Knowing I have to weigh in every Monday somewhat keeps me motivated. I have my slip ups but that happens to the best of us! So glad you joined :)
I'm low on groceries right now, need to find time to make it to the grocery store.
B: Apple/Mango sauce, nature valley bar (240)
L: Healthy Request chicken & herb soup (230)
S: Apple, 100 cal pack of crackers (~150)
D: hmmm good question, rice and veggies probably!
So I received Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred yesterday (came next day! amazon rocks!) and I watched it when I got home from my school meeting...and all I can say is WOW...It's going to kick my butt. The girls in the vid were very fit, six packs and all and they were SWEATING like crazy and looked super tired, and that was only on level 1! I really hope I can stay motivated to do it at least 4 times a week! Some is better than none. I'll let you know how I make out, tonight is my first night :)
Hi "chubbygirl82"! Nice to see you here- hope you find the same type of accountability that WW had. It's a bit different in an internet forum than it would be in person, but it helps me a lot.
Except for yesterday. Holy crap was I ever bad yesterday. I ate too much which made me freak a bit, so then I exercised a lot, probably too much. It was a majorly screwed up day and the scale is showing it this morning. Hopefully that was the kick in the pants I needed to get it together!
B- the usual=270
L- 1C chili, 20 rounds=350
Supper- 1/2C w/w pasta, 2C mixed veg, beef strips, 2Tbsp sauce=315
Snacks- moccaccino bar=140, salad=175
Total=1250
Exercise- going to aim for 1000 cals on the bike
I like apples, would have them for a snack more often, but the last time I got apples, I got them from Superstore (usually get groceries from Sobeys) and the Gala apples are very different from the Sobeys ones. I don't like them and won't eat them, but neither will I buy new apples (the ones I like) until these ones are almost gone.
Carley, I would drink a lot of coffee if I had a coffee maker or a Tim Hortons within 5 minutes of my house. It's good that I don't drink it as often as I'd like though- for one thing, I like it double double, which is 140 calories, and if I drink 4 or more cups a day I get a little on the shaky side and can't sleep at night.
BTW, I love reading what you eat throughout your day- I often think it doesn't sound like much ( I would starve!!) but sooo good- minus the drinks :) I've never had an entire beer in my whole life!
Have fun with that video Jenn! I'm feeling sympathy soreness just reading about it! :D
chubbygirl82, when I address someone I usually abbreviate the member name, but I'm not going to call you chubby! Is there something else we can call you?
Oh crap...I just finished 30 day shred and all I can say is WOW....I really hope I stick to this because it just kicked my butt and it only took me ~25 min!! I'm hurting already...
lol- just remember Jenn, it'll get easier everytime you do it! :)
Let's just say I can't MOVE this morning!!! It almost killed me to sit on the toilet!! lol. And my chest, arms, shoulders...so sore!! I LOVE IT...I've never been this sore, not even from working out with a trainer at the gym for 60 minutes!! It feels great :)
B: Activia Fibre Yogurt, Banana
L: Friday is my eat out day for lunch, so Chili and bun from Tim Hortons
S: Apple
D: Spinach Pizza @ HOME!!! Going to my parents for the weekend and wedding in Moncton on Sat :)
Have a great day everyone
"It almost killed me to sit on the toilet!!"
lol- thats so funny! I love the sore feeling- it means I've actually made my body work!
Oh today. Not good! The scales have been showing a slow but steady gain all week. Monday for weigh in I was 120, today I am at 123.4! Yikes! I don't want to gain back all that I've lost :(
B- the usual (270)
L- salad (175), apple with PB (105), moccaccino bar (140)
Supper- 1/2C w/w pasta, 2C mixed veg, beef strips, 2T sauce (315)
Snacks- apple with PB (105), granola bar (110), 3 hershey kisses (120)
Total=1340
Going to try something new today...NO exercise. Because I'm gaining with lots of it, I'm going to see what happens when I eat less and exercise none. Not the best way to lose, but I don't want to keep gaining either!!
Have a fun weekend in Moncton Jenn!
Welcome "chubbygirl82"! I've had trouble recently sticking to my weight loss plans, but the ladies on this forum really inspire me and keep me in check (so that at least I haven't been gaining weight).
I'm back home!! And for the first day I was back, my friends and family were taking me out to every single meal...oh well...
Now that the celebrating is out of the way, I'm going to start my 30 day challenge over
Things that are great about being home:
1. no more school!
2. access to fresh and healthy food. plus, my dad loves soup and always makes a giant pot, so I'll be drinking lots of low-cal soup.
3. more exercise. lots of my friends are trying to lose weight too, so we have plans to go running and swimming almost every day
Today so far:
breakfast - giant bowl of oatmeal (160), chocolate covered raisins (40)
plans for the rest of the day:
lunch - piece of baguette (300), strawberries (50), scrambled eggs (150)
snack - baby corn (70)
dinner - eggs, corn soup, baguette (600)
snack - grape tomatoes
I'll be back later to post what I actually ate, haha.
Oh! and I forgot to weigh in yesterday so I weighed in this morning: 130.
Not really losing, but I will be!
HI Y'ALL!!! I am new to this site and NEED HELP!!! I am a firefighter EMT who recently had a baby and have packed on at least 40 lbs that HAVE TO GO!!!! All of the training I had to do to get on the Dept got me in GREAT shape and made me VERY muscular... almost manly... then with pregnancy the muscles faded and fat packed on top! Now my upper arms are about the size my LEGS USED TO BE!!! I guess I have just had a warped perception of myself... it was just a few days ago I saw a picture of myself and didn't recognize the person in it!!! I realized I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!!! I have gone from a size 4 to a size 16!!! I NEED SUPPORT!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Opa! Woohoo to being all done school and back home! How did you do with your classes?
is1gal, welcome to CC! I hope that you'll find the support that you're looking for here, you can post whatever you want; meals, advice, frustrations and big and small victories :)
How was the wedding this past weekend Jenn? Do you go to them and find ideas for your own? ;)
I have been so off track and just weird lately- I became convinced that exercising so much was making me gain weight, then I started spotting, and then my weight (which had been going up by a pound a day) started dropping back down. So here's the latest:
Week 1- 125.2, Week 2- 124.2, Week 3- 123.4 , Week 4- 124.2 , Week 5- 120.2, Week 6- 123.2, Week 7- 120.8, Week 8- 119.4, Week 9- 120.4
Today- 121.8
I'm back to biking, but as long as I have the right deficit, I should be okay. Oh, I should mention, I've been eating like crap the last few days...
B- the usual- 270
snack- apple- 60, 4 Chips Ahoy cookies- 280, part of a chocolate bar- 150
L- ham sandwich- 120, apple with PB- 120
snack- moccaccino bar- 140
Supper- probably 3C mixed veg- 105, some chicken strips- 75, 2T sauce- 70
This'll take me to 1390, and I know that I'll eat something after supper, don't know what.
So rainy here today...have...no......motivation (picture William Shatner saying this as you're reading)
woo, was I way off the calories yesterday. I ended up eating 2204!!!! And it didn't even seem like I ate very much! Well, the 6 Chips Ahoy cookies didn't help, as well as 20 Pringles, a chocolate bar, 2 pieces of homemade pizza...
The good news is I worked hard in exercising to offset the damage. For the first time I was a goalie in ball hockey! It was fun...after the game, all of the guys (I was the only girl playing) took turns shooting at me trying to get a goal, or just trying to hit me as hard as possible with the ball. I was well padded so I didn't get hurt, but I did yelp like a girl at some of them- those guys shoot hard!!
I've been really off track lately with my eating too. And trying to compensate for it with my exercise, but that can only do so much...
Fell off the bandwagon before I even got on it yesterday. Crossing my fingers for a good day today.
Today so far:
breakfast - various snacks (around 300-400) <=
ran about 10-15 min (it's HOT here. *phew*)
going swimming with a friend soon
lunch - we might go out to eat
snack - strawberries
dinner - soup, steamed broccoli, maybe steamed fish?
ballet class :o)
snack - cherry tomatoe
goal: 1400-1600
still waiting on Day 1.
Wow, sounds like everyone was a bit off yesterday! At least I wasn't the only one. I ate a big bag of Lays chips :p Oh well..
Weight yesterday was 136.5 so up 1 lb. I'm fine with that because I lost 1/2 inch off both of my thighs and 1 inch off my waist since May 8th :) I've done Jillian's video 3 times so far and honestly, I already feel a difference in my body.....it's crazy! and gets easier to do everytime...but still makes me sweat like a pig!
Weird day for me today...
B: Yogurt
L: Turkey Sub from Subway
D: Rice and veggies
Not much to eat today but super busy. We are completing our wedding registry tonight and ordering our wedding bands :) Exciting........
I've been crazy busy. Yesterday I played dodgeball & offset the burnt calories by sharing 2 pitchers & a hotdog with my teammates. Ahhh... the bane of team sports! Heheh.
I weighed in at 118 at the doctors' yesterday. I'm ok with it. We leave for Sasquatch Friday & I don't plan on gaining any more weight before then ![]()
Anyway! I'm getting back on track! Be back tonight with todays intake.
Is1gal: don't be so hard on yourself! 9 months on, 9 months off, remember? You'll be back into size 4 in no time. I gained 80 with my daughter. That's 50lbs of extra padding! ![]()
Queenmedia: what are these moccaccino bars?? Are they nutrition supplements or just tastey?
Mugzymoo: How exciting!!! When is your wedding??
Carley- the moccaccino bars are Second Cup granola bars- the bottom half of them are dipped in chocolate and they are really ooie-gooie good. They smell like coffee and taste amazing. And dodgeball- love it! I'm terrible at sports/games but have a lot of fun playing them.
Jenn- thats awesome about the lost inches! When it comes down to it, I'd take lost inches over lost pounds (as long as I'm not losing them in places I want to keep them!) SO glad to know I'm not the only one who gives in to chips! The only way I can resist them is if I don't have any in the vacinity!
Opa- ballet class! Wow! Ballet dancers have amazing physiques! Have you done it all your life or just beginning?
I'm starting to realize that I eat pretty healthily at mealtimes, but it's the snacking that does me in! Today I have eaten 3 apples already- I'll eat twice that daily if it'll keep the sweet and salty bad snacking urge at bay!
