Here at the Going4Gold Gang it's all about sharing what your doing as an individual then sharing with the rest of the gang.
Everyone is Welcome
I've had three Thomas' light multigrain english muffins today. I really seem to have a "thing" for them, huh?

Exercise -- 90 minutes of yoga, and cleaned/painted the bathroom (had some new trim put around the base of the sink.)
News of Note -- mostly a veggie day, though did have some tuna salad for lunch. Added sun-dried tomato, dill pickle, sweet onion, celery, and fat free mayo, plus Mrs. Dash and ground pepper. Makes enough for two meals from one can of tuna. I put it on a bed of Boston butter lettuce, with a splash of white balsamic vinegar, and chop up a granny smith apple on the side.
I'm sticking with my oatmeal breakfast. It's funny how you can look forward to it for weeks at a time. I like the slow cook kind, the instant is too goopy. Today with cranberries, a little vanilla, fat free milk, and cinnamon. I swap around my fruit so to not get bored, sometimes I put some toasted almonds on it if I'm in a crunchy mood.
Tomorrow night I'll get to cooking for my Thursday gathering, so I can warm things up and just have fun being the hostess that night. Make the turkey soup with wild rice, and a "re-worked" mushroom casserole, made with quinoa and 1 percent milk instead of white rice and cream. If my calculations are right, I've taken out more than 40 percent of the fat and calories, and added fiber. And it's got to taste good, always my main cooking objective.
What good healthy dishes are all of you making for friends during any upcoming gatherings?
Work is really busy, that's good for a self-employed person though; you don't want to run short in the dark days of February.
Forks, I think we need a new "pre-christmas" motivational toast; or Bitty -- how about a song? Mo' fun = mo' better.
Hi everybody!
I was so tired last night- everything caught up with me!- that I waited till today to check in. I did good, 1200 calories with great balance, A avg.
Except... gulp!... I had a little- 1/4 serving?-of Velveeta shells and cheese that my daughter craved and had me make for her... I WANTED it, too!!! A LOT of IT, Lol!!!! I had to FIGHT that time, Lol! The cals were way too much for me to have more, and too hard to cut and figure to add to my log, (not in the data base here), so I didn't log it- which is highly rare for me. ![]()
Still less than my deficit would demand, as I was very active yesterday. 1350-less than 1400, probably. I'll see a nutritionist Friday to maybe sort some of my deficit-level vs. starvation mode questions.
As for song... I was sung out a little, as I had an unexpected rotation to the Nursing Homes yesterday- so I had to take 30+ minutes of songs, each, vs. a usual Devotion with 2 songs. As an amateur, with great insecurity issues, lol, this is VERY stressful!!! If Molly can burn cals by ranting, surely I burn extra by being scared! ![]()
I also shopped- walking a GREAT distance in and out by parking at edge of parking lot, then housework/cooking for Brenda- fussing to force her to drink so she doesn't dehydrate again...! Hubby said he'd take care of her to the Pastor, so I could go to the Homes, then forgot her!!! At 21, and hurting with swallowing, she is difficult to convince- though she doesn't want another IV! She is an emergency room technician, so she knows better- but it hurts awfully bad... ![]()
Then- I'm Very Happy about THIS- I sneaked in a walk with my mini-horse, while another daughter drove her car beside us to the turn-around point, and said we were going 4-5 mph!!! I usually go 3.5 max. I knew I was pushing hard! My horse appreciated it... his walking gait is too slow against mine, and prancing/trotting is too fast, so he constantly has to walk-then-trot-then-walk, etc. He doesn'tlike this! Yesterday he enjoyed mostly trotting! Also, as we treat him like a 'dog' walking him, he apparently decided to 'act like a dog' by edging close to my daughters' back tire- and trying to bite it, lol!
The UPS truck came near the turn-point, stopped and spoke to my daughter, passed her a package, then drove past us to turn and leave...leaving me a heavy catalog for my husband to carry back home. As neither I nor Prancer had any pockets, and my daughter was needing to meet someone, I increased my calorie burn by toting extra weight, lol!
I was sore afterwards, so I knew I'd done some good, but...
HEAVY Drum-roll, please.....!!!!
HEAVIER>>>!!!!! This is VERY IMPORTANT...!!!!
(To Me, lol!!!)
This morning....
For the FIRST TIME since NOVEMBER 2....
I weighed 174.5 again!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's 32 lbs. again, for me!!!!!!! Wooo Hoooo!!! It feels GOOD to be back at this weight!!!!!! ![]()
That morning was also the morning we found my sister...
...and the stress and Holidays have slowed me down terribly. I gained 2 lbs. with more up/then down, etc... and it's been a awful 5+weeks of not losing that gain... when I usually lost 4 a month! I didn't possibly eat any 7000 calories extra, either! I maintained a deficit... Stress really does affect us...
This loss has me on top of the world again, soooo maybe I could suggest the 'We are the Champions' song again! Especially when I consider where this stress would have thrown me if I hadn't been here at CC when it happened! By being here, and being clearly successful in a HEALTHY way, folks knew and tried to help me with the foods they brought, etc. It really helped me stay careful, without being rigid, and family get-togethers have been considerate of me, too! I'm sooo glad I've been here and doing it right! Others are now asking me for help...
This thread has helped me over the awful hump!!! Thank you again for starting it now, Dances!!! I doubt I could have while moving, too!!! It has helped place me-
"On the Top of the world,
Looking... down on Creation...
And the only (Truly!) explanation
I can seee...
Is the Love I have found...
Ever since ya'll've been around...
Your Love ( and support!) has put me at the Top of the world...!" Yippeee!!! CC helps!!! ![]()
Keep posting, please! I look forward to reading everything ya'll share! ![]()
Congrats Bitty!!!!!!!!! I'm doing a little dance and toast with red tea for you right now!
I too like Karen Carpenter...but, I missed the original post I think. :)
Edited to say: It helps to actually READ everything and not skim.
Bitty, Yay! Yay! Yay!
Dances, drats about your 'puter.
4square ... 56% carbs isn't a bad start, at all! It can take a while to perfect getting into that 48-53% range!!!
=^..^= MOLLY
Molly,
The carbs for today isn't bad at all 49.8%. I really had to tweak my diet to get that though and I haven't been able to have my yummy goodies ex. Jello sugar free/fat free pudding, or Ruffles Light Cheddar and sour cream potato chips. I am doing without these today but I will desperatly try to incorporate them in tomorrow.

Yep, sometimes it takes some tweaking in order to get in my faves, too. But, keep in mind that the 50% for carbs is a goal, not a set-in-stone rule, and what I really look for at the end of the month is how I did for the month.
And, of course, some people can do just fine on more than 50% carbs ... I just found that my blood sugar, my cravings, and my focus on veggies just all sort of work better at 50%.

I seem to be having a rainbow-sort-of day! Lunchtime today was probaby the world's most colorful fresh spinach salad (spinach, red tomatoes, orange peppers, hardboiled egg whites, artichoke hearts, dill pickles, sugar snap green peas), and dinner is set to be pretty colorful, too ... a Yellowfin Tuna Poke (sashimi salad) ... 9 ounces of yellowfin, cherry tomatoes, radishes, cucumber -- tossed in lemon juice, green onions, fresh garlic, chili powder and ponzu sauce ... yum! (My absolute favoritest dish in the whole world!) With it I am having 1.5 servings of Alexia brand "Oven Reds" -- oven-roasted red potatoes with olive oil, parmesan and roasted garlic. (No trans fats in there!) However, my carbs are a little low for the day, so I may need to have a high carb-y after dinner snack ... I will test and see. (All that extra protein threw my percentages off a bit!)

I would have liked the protein and fat percentages to be switched, but oh well...
Burn meter is at 2,396, so that's a 1,111 calories defecit. I think it's probably a little smaller though. The burn meter is a little high. I tried to enter in my excersizes as best I could.
I should have eaten a little more, but with the weekend not having gone so great I decided to go a little low today!
Oh yeah, and I did 40 minutes on the treadmill today!

- Hey, ya'll! I am in a good mood, why?? because I stayed on my diet today even though I wasn't crazy about my food selections today. I also for the first time in a couple of weeks did some legitimate exercise...........ohhhhhhooooooooooooohhhhha aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!! I bought some resistance tube bands today at Walmart. Then I did about half an hour working with the dvd that came with them. I like it, it is not complicated, and I have a pretty simple mind so we work well together. I have had knee problems for the past couple of days and I was actually able to still do most of the exercises. I still can't walk down hill or down steps...that hurts pretty bad.
So here is my diet for today, I modified it some more since I wrote my journal page.
