I want to start a club for those of us who have a lot of pounds to lose. Anyone interested?

Ashlyjoe- how are you doing? I'm 40- my mom had a stroke in 1973- actually she had 3 and she passed away after the third one- she was only 38. I was 7 going on 8. I have a daughter that will be turning 11 in April. I've battled and battled with the scale... Today I'm 293! Another pound gone! Feel free to make me your friend. I'm out in California- I usually get on this sight at work since the computer here is much faster than the one I have at home.

i'm an asthma sufferer as well and it is very hard to exercise if you are out of breath my weight goal is 130 but i am starting at 210 as well... i gained alittle weight instead of loosing anyway just remember to always keep your puffers on hand or if you don't have one instant coffee with no milk... in it will help if you have an asthma attack. myself i walk on a treadmill 4 times a day for 15 mins that way i don't get out of breath at all .

SheaNicole, Congrats on your getting to less than 200. WTG! Been kinda busy the last couple days so I havent checked in much.
Raro, great job on the 211...gotta be exciting getting close to a new set of numbers...2-0-something.
Hopefully I will have good numbers to post tomorrow, my weight in day. Been doing a lot of exercise and my calorie deficit has been good so I expect to see something good. I hope anyhow.

198 BABY! I almost passed out! I'm still stressing over getting an elliptical machine. I know I could be losing more weight if I would exercise. I just need that tax return to show up!
This club definitely helped me in my struggle. It feels like a lifestyle change now and I am in a consistantly better mood.
Keep it up everyone! Pretty soon we're going to be having a huge beach party! :-)

WTG Amanda...you are still continuing on a good weight loss amount. I slowed down this week, only down 2. I shouldnt say it like that, only 2 is really 'yeah 2!' but since I lost 8 the first 2 weeks it doesnt sound like a lot.
I will totally be up for the beach party next summer but this summer I think I will still keep my wrap on. :)

I'm currently at 283 but two weeks ago (on my birthday) I was 289. My Dr. sent me to a nutritionist (on my birthday) because I was having chest pains. I'd been excercising regularly (3 to six times a week) for about 4 months and wasn't losing any weight. I'd gained weight in fact, which was very soul sucking. Anyway, the nutritionist put me on a scripted 1600 calorie a day diet. It was ok, but with a family it is hard to stick with a scripted diet, so I resolved myself to sticking to the calorie limitations. This website is sent from heaven.I don't know what I would do if I had to carry pen and paper around to record everything I ate. Wish me luck.
I'm down 62 lbs to 237 as of 4 days ago. Lost 2.5 that week, so 'm still plugging away.

This thing says I should be on a 2100 cal diet...I have been sticking with about 1250.. Does anyone know why I would need to be at the higher calorie amount? I am a little confused. Especially since i am very sedentary. ( I am working on how I am gonna fit some excercise in ) ... Thanks, Ash

Ash- Just click on my name and you'll see my bio and e-mail. At home I haven't been checking it lately because the computer is so slow! But I just found out today that I can check it here at work! Much better. So- feel free to e-mail me. As to fitting in exercise- I see you live in Florida- my friend moved there about 9 years ago- but now I can't remember the town she moved to! We e-mail mostly. Anyway- is there anyway you can fit in a walk daily? Walking is what is helping me- my two mutts help motivate me to go almost everyday. Especially Heidi- because she's very smart- she's a cattledog/shepherd mix but she figured it out the 2nd day I was getting serious walking her that when I come home in the mornings from dropping my daughter off at school, that if I head upstairs then that means I'm going to go change for a walk. So now when I come home- she runs ahead of me up the stairs and puts her butt in the air and barks then when I walk into my room and over to my side of the room where my work- out clothes are- she jumps on the bed and barks- then tries to wrestle with Floyd-my lab mix...even if you can just start with 15 minutes a day it helps. Also- in the latest issue of Woman's World (my bible!) there is an article on "Indoor walking" Its pretty cool.... as to the calories a day- I'm not sure- I've just been trying to eat more fruits and vegetables and drink more water and I haven't had fast food in over 2 weeks! A big milestone for me as I used to eat it almost daily for lunch- (I'm surrounded by Taco Bell, McDonalds, KFC, Applebee's, Sizzler, Pizza Lovers, Jack in the box and a Sushi place- (don't have to worry about the sushi place though- not really y thing!)
Ash, the more you weigh the more calories your body uses so the more you need. This site suggests about a 500 calorie a day deficit so you will lose weight slowly (which has been proven to be the way people keep it off). Hope that answers your quesion.

I was a beautiful child. I always wanted to eat what I wasnt allowed to have. I started sneaking food. My mother told me once I would have a miserable life because I was fat. I stole food from other kids lunch boxes. I was in Weight Watchers in 5th grade. I had good friends. I liked sports. I was a good tennis player. I was the fat girl who had a hell of a line drive. I was the girl who heard.... you are so pretty, if only you would lose some weight. I grew up on and off of diets. I got married, had children and my weight went up and down. Three years ago I was nearly 400 pounds and decided to have gastric bypass surgery. I lost 160 pounds, exercised from day 1, and look better than I have in years. I recently hurt my back playing tennis and find that Sooooo frustrating that my body is upset that I was running around the court like I was 18, having the time of my life. My husband laughs at me and says, "How do you lose 160 pounds and your body falls apart?" My body really liked being really really fat..... I have a ton of extra skin but I do still want to lose another 40 or 50 pounds. I have 2 beautiful children who have my genes. We talk about nutrition and health. We go to the gym 3-4 times a week. I cant do much because of my SI injury but I go and walk and encourage them to feel their hearts beating. I dont sweat much but I feel like its better than nothing. I want to encourage them to be active. My daughter is athletic but heavy but she has the most beautiful smile I have ever seen. I just dont want that life for them. I feel like I am doing everything right but I dont seem to be able to help them. The scales just go up and up and up. I decided to seek a new alternative. Something different, something I havent tried before. So this is my therapy session. Perhaps in my words and the words of others I will find the answers. My 20th high school reunion is this summer and I would love to be the one to knock everyones socks off. Here's to being under 200 pounds! Peace!
I'm 18 years old, my height is about 5'2 and my weight is 209. Last year I gained 50 lbs in a month due to PCOS. I am really scared about losing weight and getting motivated but I am sick of being overweight. I'm glad I found this site! This will help me keep my calories updated and I'm even making my mom join. I'm determained to get this under controll.
Everyone! Wow this is a great group. Congrats to those who have lost desired weight for this week and congrats to those who are going strong. For me I cant seem to go a day without cheating yet. I dont know why. In my 30's I could, no I had will power and now.........poof it's gone. A lot has to do with my health problems and I have been on so many different medications I truely believe it screwed up my metabolism. To exercise causes so much pain its not even funny so I am kinda at a loss of what do do anymore. Well anyway again congrats to all for your sucess and have a great day and a low calorie weekend!!! : )

I really enjoyed reading everyone's story, and I was also glad to see a post for 200+! I am currently at 214.2, down from 218 last week. I am a 23 y.o. teacher. I did CC last year and it worked wonders for me... i was down to 200, then I moved and gained it all back. So, here I am, ready for round two, and ready to stick with it for life!
I have a question for anyone. If I eat 315 calories for breakfast, then work out for 35 minutes (aerobics) which equals burning 510 calories, does that mean I just wiped out the calories I ate for breakfast and so I'm really at a negative number for the moment? Not sure if that's how it works. Can someone tell me? Thanks.
Siscobj..I dont really think it matters when you eat vs. when you burn your calories doing aerobics. If you are keeping your food and activity log on CC and eating the amount of calories you need for the day you should be good to go!
