Hey all, I'm looking for others with similar goals (not stats, anybody who's 10 or less from their goal) so we can keep each other company for the last leg of the weight-loss extravaganza. A small group would be great fun! (Let's keep it to just the first 10 or so who join - if I even get that many takers!)
My stats:
Age: 22
Height: 5'0
CW: 107-110 (morning-evening)
Goal Weight: 98-101
Yuck, yuck, yuck! I wonder what is in there besides milk and oats?
How is everyone else doing this week? I wasn't great over the weekend - big party on Saturday night where I drank, and ate too much dessert. Sunday I was a bit hungover and craving potato chips. By Monday I had limited groceries left and wound up eating cheese and crackers for supper (breakfast I got a bagel and cream cheese at work, lunch was a grilled cheese sandwich on white bread with a smoothie, snacks were, unfortunately, M&Ms and some baked chips).
I did find the non-clean eating very noticeable, my stomach has been a little irritable the past few days, I guess as a result of the extra grease and sugar, and my mouth even tasted a bit funny. I did get some groceries though and today I'm goign back to it: oatmeal with raisins for breakfast, green salad for lunch, grapes for snack. Haven't decided about supper yet.
There really is a reason why people complain about the last 10 lbs. I was super yesterday, and then had a couple of pieces of dark chocolate last night while watching a movie. Not because of a craving, not because of TTOM, just because someone passed it to me, and I didn't just keep passing it on.
I haven't messed with that M M-n-Oats again yet, I'm too scared. Thats what I get for buying clearanced food items and I have 3 more left from the clearance bin and only 1 I bought at full price :-(
Any who don't worry about that bad eating, just try to squeeze in a few extra minutes of working out. I'm stepping my cardio up from25 to 30 minutes this week in addition to my DVD it was tough yesterday but me and my roomie managed to get through it lol.
I'd like to propose a challenge for everyone this week(cause sometimes we all need a kick in the pants) Run, jog, bike or walk an extra mile before friday. SO if you already 10 miles, make it eleven, if you jog around the block, add an extra mile to it, we can do it. I'm gonna squeeze it in on Thursday since that's my non work out day that way I don't have to worry about overexerting myself. It's just a mile and I beleive all of us can do it, it may be a simple as walking to the corner store instead of driving.
hope you're better now amayou! (: the challenge sounds great, and i'm so going to hop on it! I've got a pedometer recently, and have been trying to walk 10,000 steps everyday. :3
vegetariangeek: dark chocolate isn't too bad! at least it contains antioxidants :3... way better than eating half a bag of movie popcorn (i did this once when trying to lose weight >"<|||) try eating more fruits and veg these couple of days to cleanse out your system though (:
Thanks Doedoe! You're right, gotta get in the antioxidants. It's just that I was trying to totally stay away from sugar.
Amayou, I do need a kick in the pants, thank you for being the one to wield the boot! I am in on your challenge! And hope you chuck out those sketchy oat bars.
Good job on steppin up to the challenge ladies!
I'm going to toss the bad mm-n-oats when I go home, I can't risk gettin sick again that wasn't fun at all lol
Has anyone else put that extra mile in yet? I was planning to last night but there was a sudden thunderstorm here. Today looks bright and sunny though, so I'll do it on my lunch break.
Steph, Sept, long time no hear! Steph, is your no-biscuit run still holding?
I haven't but I'm going to today, I'm going to walk to Publix I need some cheese lol. I'm pretty sure I'll burn a nice amount of calories too, because there is this giant hill on the way I hope I don't pass out a roll down it lol.
Reminder watch your salt intake and be sure to drink your 64 oz of water so you don't have an inaccurate weigh in tomorrow.
Me being the geek I am, I had to mapquest it to get an accurate distance, it's .88 miles aking the entire trip 1.76 miles.
Weigh in day! I'm not happy about it though
Starting weight: 151
Last week 145.8
this week:146
I'm hoping I'm just retaining a little water so I may wait until tomorrow to log my weight. I drank all of my necessary water, i don't think I had that much salt, I've worked out twcie this week and working out today or tomorrow to fit in my 3xweek, even walked an extra 1.76 miles. I was so pumped about todays weigh in because I hopped on the scale a couple days ago and was down a lil bit. I'll try not to let this discourage me, I'm going to six flags tomorrow.
Hey peeps.... oh, weigh-in day.
Still about the same - 107.2 this morning. I know I should be really happy that I didn't gain over my two-week vacation, but it's still frustrating to not be losing. I'm trying to be happy with the knowlege that I am getting stronger and replacing fat with muscle. Still hanging in there and hoping for the day I can see 102 in the mornings.... *sigh*
How are all my chicas doing? I'm off to BodyPump!
Amayou, good for you for getting in that extra walk, and Septi good for you for maintaining on such a long trip!
After a huge dinner last night, I am actually down 0.4 from last week, 125.6!
What is the weekend looking like for all of you? Any challenges? Opportunities? I've got a physically active day planned for Saturday - walking to the farmer's market, and then helping a friend with some yard work/house maintenance. Sunday I have brunch at a friend's place and she's notorious for being a high-calorie cook. I'm bringing a fruit salad with me!!
Hey Veg! Rock on with the losing! Fruit salad is a good idea, too. When I'm confronted with tons of deliciously rich food I like to try a nibble (less than a serving) of everything - helps me not feel deprived, but keeps me from going overboard on a favorite, too. I am super pumped for this weekend, because Saturday is my *favorite* lesmills combo - BodyCombat (kickboxing/mixed martial arts) into BodyFlow (yoga/tai chi/pilates). I've SO missed it these last two weeks, so I can't wait!
I've missed being able to keep up with all of you during my vacay - how is everbody?
i got my extra mile (two actually) yesterday when i got off the bus midway back home instead of getting off at my doorstep... today was pretty terrible though. >"< i've been trying to eat 1600~1800cals these few weeks to maintain, and also to not dip anywhere below 1300~1400 (my BMR is 1350), but my stomach hurt so bad after dinner today that i couldn't bring myself to eat supper... I managed to drink a glass of milk, but my stomach kinda got worse. ): and i think i still ate less than 1300cals nonetheless... i was debating whether i should grab a muffin from starbucks to bump it up, but even those muffins that i usually think are to-die-for , somehow looked so horribly unappetising to me with my aching tummy that i gave them a miss... ):
Weigh in: I'm 114lbs this week!
Weekends, i'm having a gathering at a friend's place... and it's a pot luck (and another birthday celebration)! It's mostly vegetarian, as well as wheat/lactose/dairy/nut free cause of various food allergies and intolerances of my friends... and half my friends are pretty health conscious, so the food is probably going to be great AND healthy. hurhur. hope my tummy feels better by tomorrow night though ):
septi: your exercise classes sound so cool! how was your vacation?
Hey doedoe - sorry you're not feeling well! :( i wouldn't stress too much about the eating, if you're body says "no" I think it's fine to listen to it. Drink water, though, definitely. I try to sip slowly when my stomach is mad at me.
Yeah, I am SO addicted to my LesMills classes - I'm already hunting down a gym in MA -- moving to Arlington, MA in three weeks! Yipes! Add packing and hauling boxes to my exercise haha.
My vacation was AMAZING -- my boyfriend and I visited my parents in CA, (Marin) and we had a wonderful time -- we even went to Harbin Hot Springs (total hippie-land) and walked around naked all day -- it was CRAZY!
I think I may be an emotional eater. Today during my lunch I got lost on the way to an appointment I got really mad cried, punched my steering wheel, and finally reached my destination 23 minutes late, so I reschduled since I know where the place is now. SO anyway I'm driving back to work pissed off and I'm thinking WTF am I doing this for I didn't even lose any weight this week I might as well pig out a feel happy rather than torture myself with, protein shakes, 100 cal snack packs, and so much water I peed 4 times this morning between 7am-10am. BUT I'm not going to go off the deep end. I have to do my DVD today some time later, because I have a coffee date ;-) And I'm going to six flag which I will have some expensive (money and calorie wise) food, however I'm going to be walking around all day so I'm thinking it will even its self out as long as I have a light breakfast and dinner.
Aww, poor you. I think that happens to everyone - you get frustrated and then want something comforting to soothe yourself. A lot of the time that's food - usually carbs. Maybe something carb-y but not too unhealthy would help? A small bowl of rice, a few baked chips?
Also ... if you're "torturing yourself" with what you're eating maybe take the weekend to try something new. I know when I eat a lot of processed fake food packed with chemicals I start getting grossed out by how artificial it is (fat-free sour cream, low-calorie yogurt, reduced-fat cookies, etc). Rather than not-particularly-healthy substitutions for "bad" food, I tend to feel better just eating real food that's good for me (ie, getting some fresh veggies and having them with a small portion of wholegrain pasta, or strawberries dipped in dark chocolate).
I guess it depends on your tastes, and how much time you have to cook. Anyway, hope you feel better and have a great time at 6 flags!
Ooh, almost missed your mention of your coffee date. Lucky you!
septi: gosh, sounds like fun. lol, though walking around naked around all day still sounds like something crazy to me... the closest i was to that was going to a hot spring is Japan (naked too, but the men and women are separated, so it's half the embarrassment removed. ^^||)
amayou: (: even if you are an emotional eater, you're one with loads of self control! We all have times that we feel like giving up and throwing in the towel... the difference is whether we actually manage to pull ourselves out of the slum either before or after we trip up...
my tummy is still weird now... it's only hurting every hour or so, and not for too long. the only thing is that whenever it hurts, i've got to to sprint to the nearest loo, so i can't go out for a walk/jog or even make a trip to the grocery shop... bleah. oh, and the doctor told me to stay off fruits (and exercise) for the next few days as well, which is akin to torture for me. /: can't wait to get better!!
Hay everyone, so sorry I haven't been able to write much I have been mega busy at work and then after work exercising. It has totally paid off I am 156 today and feeling good. Aiming for 154 next week. Although I may have over done it, went from running 3 miles to consistantly running 4 in record time and now my back is really playing up, its really painful. Not great. In better news I have totally stuck to my no eating biscuits!
