Hi, I would like to get in shape for the summer...I am currently in college and have gained a bit more weight than I would have liked to:) I am 5'3 and weigh 143lbs...would love to go down to 125lbs or so over the course of the next few months and would love to hear from anyone else with the same situation?
I could certainly do with some motivation...someone to chat to when Im contemplating a chocolate binge:)
Hi All, so busy this weekend. Looks like we all have our TOTM at the same time...Scary! i was really craving salt then sweets. gained some water weight 145.2 :( two steps forward one step back. my kids and i have had a bad cold all week too so i had NO strength to exercise and then felt guilty about not exercising. we did go to a Detroit Tigers game and i only had peanuts though i wanted hot dogs and nachos and pizza so i'm happy about that. kickin it into high gear this week!!!
Anybody want to share their kids ages? I may have mentioned b4, mine are 6 & 10 (spring babies).
Good morning everyone. I wasn't able to check in on Friday. I look a trip home to Maui. I did weight myself on Friday and I was 135. Today, afraid to step on that scale. I'm actually going to go to the gym after this. I'm playing hockey today to do some errands and get some workout in. I just feel bloated right now. A good sweat will make me feel a hell of a lot better.
I have one daughter and she is 4 years old. My husband just dropped her off at preschool.....she's a little bossy...hehehehe.
Hey Smader! The body assessment sounds interesting, it's so cool that the YMCA does that.
I don't have any kids (yet). ![]()
mine are daughter about to turn 6 and son 3. serious water weight gain this week so i'm going to try some natural diuretics: green tea, cranberry juice and asparagus. we'll see.
No kids, just a cat. I know it's not the same in any way but I'm considering adopting a dog. My dog of 13 years died one year ago today. I sure do miss him.
On a more C-C note, I'm having trouble committing to weight loss lately. I feel like I'm getting back on track right now (the past few days). Whew. Gotta get myself together here!
Hey ladies.
Sorry I've been out of the loop for a while. I got back from Jerusalem yesterday, after a full day in Prague, where my daughter and I took in the sights - what a beautiful city!
My daughter is four, going on thirty!
My vacation was full of impressions: my family noticed that I lost weight and kept telling me to stop now, before I look too skinny... (an Arab thing, they prefer women with shape! the coke bottle kind, that is!) - After my cousins wedding, I went into vacation mode, and managed to arrange a little concert with a Danish Palestinian singer song writer (Philip Halloun) at a wonderful place inside the old city of Jerusalem, where I sort of fell for the owner, a total testosterone gorilla, whom I spent the last week with....that should explain my lack of time for computing :-D
But now I'm back again, have been drinking way too much beer this past week, but managing to steer clear of unhealthy foods, so I'm down a bit again, 128.3 lbs, so my goal date keeps being pushed back a bit, but it's all good.
I went running by the beach today, which was really great. I love how it clears my head and makes everything seem okay - it's a "me-time" that I'm realising that I can't do without. Now I just need to shake off the smell and memories of the lovely Armenian who fills my head and then I'm all set for a new chapter...
will read the last posts later, but have a bunch of unpacking and cleaning to do - then my daughter is off to spend time with her dad, which should give me more time to get updated with you all.
Hope this Friday finds you all in good health and happy...and...it's good to be back :-)
Hi everyone
I have a dog, a yellow lab that is 7 years old. No kids. :)
Well I am at 142.5. I need to find some inspiration. I think my new goal is going to be for a wedding I am attending in October. Many of my college friends will be there and some I haven't seen in years. My goal will be to be steadily under 140. Seems easy but somewhat unattainable of late.
To start this 2 month extravaganza, I am going to have a clean weekend. Anyone with me? My goal will be to limit beer, or at least drink light beer and stop eating when I am full. Let's see how this will work!
Otherwise TGIF, I hope everyone has a good weekend.
Wow, a lot of us are checking in early this fine Friday morning. That's great!
I'm a smidgen down again just like last week. I don't know if I should even claim it as being down but it gives me encouragement. 141.6 vs 141.8 ![]()
I have a dog too. She is a yr old and a mix of shiz tsu and yorkie, a "shorkie". I'll post a picture of her in my gallery .... she is just tooooooo cute. Of course as a proud mom, how could I possibly think otherwise.
Smader - I'm with you on the "clean" weekend! For me, "clean" will mean no alkie drinks. Not easy, but it will certainly will cut down on my calorie intake.
Snehvid - I'm so glad you're back! You were missed, but hey I understand if we we're at the top of your list while hanging out with the hunk. Maybe you'll make plans to see him again and that will definately motivate you to stay in shape. You're doing great anyway. Did the dress fit as well as you wanted for the wedding?
Gracelynn - You continue to go gangbusters. You'd better slow down or you're going to reach your goal and have to be kicked out of the group! Of course, I'm joking.
I don't want anyone of us long term-ers to disengage.
Take care all. Keep in touch regularly. - Hasta la vista
I would like to join your group. I am 30 years old, 148 lbs and 5'61/2". I used to be 156 lbs in May. I am trying to be 132-135 thus losing my post baby weight.
What is your weigh-in date?
Thanks,
welcome rishies mom your stats are EXACTLY like mine. i started this at 148 5'6" and am-today 143.8. this is a great support system and the ONLY thing that gets me motivated. it's nice to know you aren't alone sometimes! my goal is also 132. good luck.
Hi all ! FYI, i've been retaining water lately after my TOTM and would wake up in the morning with swollen hands and feet so i tried lots of green tea (2 bags per cup), carrots and asparagus. it worked! i feel so much better and lost about a pound of water in a day. only i was going to the BR a lot! have a nice weekend ladies.![]()
Hey Hasta! Lol, every little bit counts right?!
Awww, I had a dog too but my parents said he ran away, lol -I don't know if I believe it but yes. Aw don't be sad, all dogs go to heaven!!!
Lol, like the movie!
Oh girls!! I have great news! I'm switching over to weigh maintenance because I'm happy with my current weight so you never know when you'll reach a weight you like too!! It might be sooner then your set goal! Hehhehe, I'm still going to keep everyone updated and you can track me on maintaining, which I hear is even harder then losing weight! Lol, I think if I can maintain it for two weeks then I will be set!!! Woooohhhh, so excited! So happy -yaya girls yay!
Welcome back from Jerusalem SNEHVIDE!! Lol, I love that movie!!!!! 13 going on 30!!!! It's so cute!
Hi Rishiesmom!! Welcome to the group!!! Lol, we're still accepting people right girls?!
Lol, I'm totally out for the weekend challenge because I just had a love of cream puff day today but today's not the weekend so yeah!! For sure I will start healthy starting tomorrow -I'm in! My goal is to not eat more then 1500lbs during this transition phrase but still keeping it healthy and sticking to the only eat what I enjoy and enjoy what I eat model!
Good Luck Girls!!!! We can do it!!!!! So let's take it one day at a time!
welcome Rishiesmom - we have weigh in days on Friday, so as to avoid the whole "I was bad this weekend and monday will suck"- feeling that monday weigh ins may bring... I hope you will enjoy the group as much as i do - we have our weekly updates on page 2, which Hasta meticulously keeps updated to the benefit of us all!
I finally had some time to read through all the posts - seems like you guys are doing well overall - good to see. I'm really glad to again start counting my cals, as this might offset my second reward... a massage i promised myself once i get to 58 kilos...hopefully next week?!
Renekane, I ended up in films by default - when I was about to finish my maternity leave (which lasted over a year...in Denmark we're entitled to a full year), I was called up by someone I used to know in University, who asked if I would be interested in casting some Arabs for a Danish feature, and that lead to a bunch of other random positions on the set, as the director and I really hit it off and she didn't want to let me go, once the castings were done... since then i've primarily scripted (on set, catching mistakes before the editing starts) and assisted directors - currently i'm fiddling with a little short film manuscript to direct myself, but it's more like a passtime, than anything else!
Smader - what does your brother do in Copenhagen? Has he been here for long? Does he like it? You should visit, it's really a great city that has a lot to offer.. well, at least I love it :-)
My goal for the weekend is to limit my beers (am going out tonight!), and excercise today.... I have actually found that running alone doesn't really do much to my inch loss, but that strength training does it - and I haven't been doing anything other than my arms for this past month... maybe right this instant is a good time to start...
Gracelynn - I can't believe your incredible weightloss - I hope you keep checking in on us once in a while and let us know how it goes with maintaining- well done, can't wait to be where you are!
Ladies - have a great saturday
Hey Snehvide!!! I love your bandana!!! Lol, it's so cute! Lol and you look so happy! Isn't that where we all want to be with our weight loss anyways -happy?! Lol, for sure!!!!! You'll get there too! If you really try, I think you can! Umm, I did have a lot of pit falls though but that's part of it, climbing out of those pits help burn off calories anyway(just joking)! It must be so fun working the film industry though; although, probably a lot of work I would imagine -all the cameras, crew, lights, catering!!!! Lol, are you working on Canadian film by any chance?!
hahaha Gracelynn, no productions in canada as of yet - if i get an offer, will make sure to let you know ;-)
Thanks for the motivation - i actually managed to do an hour of strength today, so i'm already back in gear - only thing is that i stayed home most of today, which also means that i stayed near my fridge, and although i only grazed healthy things, i just feel like i ate the entire day - not overstepping my cals though - i'm just so HUNGRY today---hmmmm... but i'm sure i'll make it to my goal soon - hopefully two months from yesterday :-)
hello everybody, do you mind if i join?
Hi Everyone,
Sorry about the late report but busy, busy, busy. My high season.
I'm at 130! Argh. (it was fun though!) I'm feeling a renewed commitment coming on. Anyone with me? How about a good clean Monday through Thursday challenge?
Good to have you back Snehvide. Congrats Gracelynn, I hit that point last year and it was a good feeling! Looking forward to getting back to that point. Going to use you as my weight loss inspiration and compass!
Welcome subwaybusker. Hop on along. These folks are super supportive. I think you'll like us!
Hi everyone, I've been busy lately and couldn't get on the site. As of Friday I was 135.8 UGH!!!!!!!!!! I have my TOM so hopefully things will look better in a couple days.
I go have to say, Snehvide you look absolutely GREAT!!!!!! I want to be able to run an hour too. Great JOB. And Gracelynn, I don't know how you're doing it, but keep it up!.
Great job everyone!!!!!
Lol, Canada is a great place to be! I think you'll really like it here! Lots of trees, close to the sea and lots of fresh air because of all the rain!
Hi Subwaybusker!!! Welcome!
Thanks Renekane, that's so nice of you to say! I'm totally up for your challenge as I'm also feeling a renewed sense of commitment! This weight lost stuff is really fun!! I'm continuing to 107 lbs! ![]()
No worries Bettyboop71, TOM can only stop us for a couple of days but we can come back it with a vengeance!
Should I use a cleanse to jump-start my diet?
A cleanse is unnecessary, but a short-term fast like the Master Cleanse you describe, might serve as a tangible signal of change and... Read more
