Lauren in San Diego here (5'11'').  I was up to almost 180 lbs at the end of last year and I lost about 10 pounds during Jan-Feb and then got lazy.  I need to get back on the wagon.  I think I weigh around 170 and I would like to be 150.  Weigh in on Fridays for me starting tomorrow.  I would love to chat with others who have similar stats and goals to stay motivated.  All my girlfriends are little petites, I need some amazon love!!

Let's look hot and healthy this summer!!!

Happy Monday everyone, I had a late weigh in this week, as i was away from my scales on friday, I weighed in saturday and sunday instead, down this week, woo hoo!! 131.5, I'll have to weigh in as that again just to make sure, Because it seems to have dropped from 134 very quickly, I dont trust it. I certainly dont feel two pounds away from my goal weight, but I always planned on dropping the pounds and then building muscle, so I'll see how much more I can lose by the summer and then really work hard at toning and building muscle and then if I put on 3-5 pounds that way I'll know its not fat!

Hope everyone had a  great weekend, I have a wedding i'm attending Friday, so it'll be a 3 course meal and lots of wine.. Getting root canal surgery on saturday though, so I wont be able eat for a week :( Hoping to maintain this week.

Weighed myself Friday morning but forgot I was not going to be around a computer all weekend! Hope everyone had a great 4th of July!

GW:140-145 not sure just yet

Ate lots of food this weekend I shouldn't have so this week is for getting back on track and losing any water weight I put on this weekend and from TOM.

Hello Tall Ladies,

Today, I just suddenly ran out of steam! I'm not sure why. My diet has been excellent and today wasn't any different from previous days.

I got up at 6 am to go for my morning walk with weights. Then I came home and dozed for another hour then got up and went to water aerobics. I wasn't tired at water aerobics or while walking. Next I had to run to the store before fixing lunch. About an hour after lunch, I suddenly felt exhausted.

I decided to take a "power nap" (about 30 minutes). But after my alarm went off, I tried to get up and still felt very tired. So, my 30 minute "power nap" turned into a whole hour nap. When I did wake up, it was a little harder waking up than it would have been if I could have managed a power nap but at least I didn't feel so exhausted.

I decided to eat a protein bar. That always gives me a boost and it did this time, too. I'm beginning to feel more energetic now. BTW, I found some really good protein bars at Sam's Club. They're called "Eat Good, Look Great Protein Bars" and they have no sugar, 20 grams of protein and only 190 calories! They're yummy, too.

I need to get some work done but the day is almost gone and mostly all I've done is exercise and sleep! *sigh* This getting healthy is a lot of hard work!

So I may be showing my ignorance, but what does TTOM mean?  Kim

Don't fee bad. I had to ask the same question a few weeks ago. TTOM is "That Time of the Month" Wink

Well girls, I bit the dust. I was doing so well there for about 6 weeks. I was 163 on the 4th and shooting for 160 by yesterday but instead I had an AWFUL hellish weekend of being depressed and bla bla bla stinkin holidays...I gained 4lbs! But Im back at as of yesterday. Trying for 900-1000 cal defecits each day and working out on my lunch hours, going to school in the evenings & both days all weekends, working full time during the day...its gonna be hectic but Im hoping that will keep me from eating too much. This 4lbs should be gone soon enough and I'll be back on track! Congrats to all of you who did such a great job!

I'm sure you did not put on 4lbs in one weekend, just think if that were true you would have had to consume at your maintenance levels plus 14,000 calories on top of that in one weekend... feel better, im confident you didnt.

Hi everyone,

I have been having some problems with my member name so this is my new one instead of chocolatecheesecake.  I was also on vacation last weekend at one of my friend's lake houses and there was SO much good food.  I weighed myself yesterday since I missed the Friday weigh in.  I am up 3.4 pounds from last week.  I went from 145.2 to 148.6.  Ugh.  Although some of it is probably water weight it is still a little frustrating.  I will go back to counting calories this week and hopefully at the next weigh in I will have lost again.

Meg & Chocolate,

I think we all know how it feels to have a bad weekend, but it happens sometimes!  What Carol said is so true, it would be VERY difficult to put on more than a pound of so in the span of a few days!  Even if you gained 1 real lb, you have the great challenge to make it up this week, and to develop a plan for preventing it from happening the next time.

Good luck with the week Meg, it sounds like it'll be a crazy one!  Just remember TO eat while running around like that, so you don't come home ravenous at the end of the day!

Have a great mid-week everyone, hope we're all a little happier on Friday!

has anyone else found that they're only losing inches and not actual weight? i've been cutting calories for about 2 weeks now and i haven't lost ONE POUND! I'm eating between 1,500 and 1,700 calories a day and exercising 6 days a week. i'm weight lifting 3/4 days a week and doing cardio 4/5 days. but my clothes are fitting better, and I certainly feel better. so while the numbers on the scale don't REALLY matter, I'd like to know why they aren't budging at all. I was thinking I would've at least lost 2 or 3lbs by now. anyone had this same issue?

hmmmm....I didn't even consider TTOM affecting weightloss, but perhaps that's why I haven't lost anything these past two weeks. I just started mine this week and last week I was feeling bloated and yucky since I was about to start. Hopefully I'll see some numerical results next week once I'm finished.

PS

we have very similar stats and goals. (except you're my dream height of 6 foot. i'm only 5'10") I also want to get down to 140. I'll be following your progress for encouragement and motivation. we can do it!!

Carol, Dplatzer-- yea I think you guys were right. Its been 2 days and this morning (the third day) I weighed 165.6! yay! Its not sticking :D thank God! 14000 cals is a LOT to eat, and I did eat a lot but not that much i dont think lol.

My crazy schedule is helping quite a bit. I love it as far as the diet goes, makes exercise tough though so Im working hard for my defecits (no munching and being quite hungry at times), but it will get easier as my tummy shrinks and I get in the swing of things.

Hey carol, Im wondering since we're the same height, I want to be about as thin as you but I think you have a smaller frame than I do...when you put ur index finger and thumb around ur wrist do they overlap or touch or what? Just curious...I was thinkin 140 would make me look really thin like I want but maybe I need to be 135 or so? not sure. Thanks in advance! :)

OK well good luck this week girls! Weigh in in two days, hopefully I'll see 164 by then and back to 162 by monday...cross ur fingers! :P

Hi guys, Well im going to a wedding tomorrow so I have to weigh in today this week so as of this morning, I'm 132lbs, up a tad from sat/sun, but essentially maintaining, I'm still happy enough as my mini goal for tomorrow was 133, so im under! Im balancing out at one pound per week loss, so I'm aiming for 130 by Aug 01 now. Tomorrow I will probably eat and drink loads but I'll make that my cheat day for this fortnight, usually I have it every 2nd sunday where I eat at maintenance.meggo85: To answer your question, Yes my index finger overlaps my thumb a good bit, so I guess I'm small framed.. but I have a big ribcage, its weird, it runs in the family.

So anyway, last night, for the 1st time I took my measurements, upper thighs, lower thighs (just above the knee), calves (around the widest part), upper arms, hips, waist, and eugh dreaded tummy area!! I forget what they were now but ive them written down, so does anyone know if you can work out your body fat % from these figures? I think once I hit my goal, I'm gonna concentrate on getting that down because even though I'm losing lbs, I still feel really fatty in places... I really think its higher % than normal.

Anyways, I love this group, best of luck this week ladies, enjoy the wkend, but not too much :)

Hello all!

I wrote a post weeks ago but have been on vaca and then lazy about checking the forums. I'm 24, 5'10", and currently 150 lbs. My highest weight was 173 when I was about 21 (beer plus no exercise). For a while I was maintaining at 155 but I decided I need to get my body toned and work on really having healthy eating habits, and losing a couple pounds along the way isn't a bad thing!

A month ago I was in the middle of a 2 week vacation and gained about 4lbs. My goal was to get back down to 150 in time for the 4th and I did it! I'm happy to say that even after a weekend of drinking and bbq I managed to maintain the weight. I can't go getting cocky though, I feel like if I slack now I'm going to def pay for it next week.

It's nice to talk to tall ladies about our weight loss goals. I have another forum I like to go to but everyone there is aiming for 125 lbs.

I have to bring one thing up. My boyfriend's sister is about 5'2" and the past year put on some weight (15-20 lbs). I don't know if other people see this too but to me, I look healthy (dare I say skinny) and she looks a little overweight and yet she wears a smaller size (6) than me (8/10). I know some will say it's the plus of being tall, we hold our weight better, but man it's just strange to know that someone's fat pants are too small for me. I guess I have no judge of size or weight of short people because i swear, to me, her thighs look bigger than mine!

But I guess the same goes for short people judging us. I did have someone guess I weighed about 130 lbs (which hasn't happened since pre-puberty).

Happy Weigh-in Day, Ladies!

I've not yet had a chance to catch up on posts, so this will be a quick one- I've been working a ton.

According to my scale, I'm up 2 kilos since last week to  69kg and my fat is down 2%. I've been taking creatine for the last 10 days, though, in order to work on my muscle building goals. Creatine causes water weight gain, so I'm pretty sure that explains the change in my stats. I'm thinking next week's weight in will be a bit more telling.

In other news, I started riding my bike to work this week! I've done it two times so far. The extra 100 minutes a day of activity HAS to be good for me! I'm hoping to do it 3x a week.

Good luck everyone! I'm looking forward to enjoying your posts over the weekend!

Its Friday!

So I usually weigh in Thursday afternoons, but worked out in the morning. Its crazy the weight difference! I was 145 in the morning and was around 149 wednesday afternoon- I'm sure I didn't lose 4 pounds in one night!

So I'm going to go with CW- 149

GW-140ish

chescaleigh- you can have my extra height! I hate it, I would love to be somewhere around 5'6" or 5'7". Six foot drives me nuts!

Carolally- Have fun at your wedding! I'm jealous, I love going to weddings.

So this weekend I'm going to watch my brother race (quartermidgets, sort o like go carts). We stay in a camper so my family usually just buys food from the concession stand for lunches. I hope there's sandwiches or something, otherwise this could turn out to be a high calorie weekend. Maybe I'll stop at the store and get some low cal snacks?

Friday Weigh in!

5'11" 155lbs.

I was a gineau pig, trying to maintain, deciding to keep the weight I was stuck at, bouncing around between 157 and 160.

So, I upped my calories from 1500-1700 to 1800-2000 for maintenance.

AND I'M DOWN TO 155.

It's been more difficult to eat that much (everyday) than I thought it would be, so I eat about the same amount of grams but have increased my good fats.

I'm still going to try to maintain.

Have a good weekend all!

weigh in day!

Today I weighed in at 154, yesterday I was 153.5, my trendline keeps moving down though so even though I've basically been maintaining I feel pretty good.

4th of July weekend I didn't really count calories, or watch too much in general.  I think my food choices were pretty decent, but I could have curbed the drinking a bit!

Hoping to have a strong weekend and break through this plateau, I am hoping to get in all my workouts and have about a 800 cal. defecit every day, and be 152 by Wed. **fingers crossed**

Hope you all have a GREAT weekend and enjoy all the fun things you have planned!

Friday Weigh In!

6', CW 187.8 (lost 3 more lbs this week!) Smile

GW 150

Still doing the same ol' stuff and it's obviously paying off! I walk about 6 miles a day, water aerobics 4 x a week, and keeping calories about 1000 below my burn meter.

Hey girls :)

Happy weigh in day!! It sure is a happy one for me, which is pretty unexpected after last weekend! whew...So my weight today?! :D oh my gosh I am so excited lol 163! no ounces or anything! I am kind of shocked really. But I aint complainin! So maybe 161 by monday?? That would only put my 3lbs of my goal for that day which would be great!! Thanks for calming me down when I was freakin out lol :)

Carol- Congrats on being under ur goal! :) Thats great. You are still losing weight really well even tho you are so close to goal, im amazed. gosh I hope I am as lucky! You are doing a great job! I cant really tell about my fingers so I did this thing where you measure ur wrist and, at 5'10, if your wrist is less that 6.25 inches between the wrist bone and the base of the hand then you are a small frame. I was between 6 inches and 6.25 so I guess Im a small frame. THEN I took a test at this website that told me my body fat percentage was 37.5---and im in the OBESE category! Psh...Well see about that. :P Anyway, I think thats what you were askin about because you have to put ur measurments in to figure it up...this is the website: http://www.scientificpsychic.com/fitness/diet .html

fhstke- good job on maintaining! you sure did better than I did lol. Ps. You are at my mini goal weight! I cant wait to be 150!! :D and be....dare I say skinny! I can sure believe that shorter girls look bigger. Thats just the way it is. Kinda sucks in the way that even when we get to our smallest & skinniest we're still kinda heavy for our boyfriends to throw around..thats the worst thing I hate about being tall. :P

Monkeyfish- Congrats on the Body fat % going down (i wrote "congrats on the bf% going down and it just read reaaally wrong...yikes). 2% seems like a lot to me!! Great job :) I've heard of a lot of people starting to ride their bikes to work. I think its a great idea, especially since gas is so high now.

Skookum-  thats great about the 155! I guess ur body just needed some more cals. Niiice. Love it when that happens :P But yea at 5'11 that would probably be a good place to hang ur sneakers so to speak.

Dplatzer- Hey girl! Heres to feeling good** Im just workin off the extra weekend poundage and feelin good about that too. Sometimes maintaining is a victory all in itself, especially over a holilday. Good job! I know if you are really good and workout and get those 800 cal defecits you will be 152, probably 151 even by next weigh in! And hopefully I'll be 159! haha, in my dreams!

Have a great weekend everbody!! I'll be wasting away in class, literally i hope.

<3 Meg
