Hey everyone! I decided to make a group for those who need to lose anywhere from 50 to 70 lbs. I think if we do weigh-ins once a week (whatever day works for each person), we can all keep each other motivated. It is possible for most people who join this group to lose mostly all of the extra weight by the end of 2008! We can all use tomorrow as our first weigh-in. Who's with me

Woohoo! phinman, I totally share your joy in reaching a new tens digit. I've been working out like a fiend this week and I can feel my body getting seriously stronger. rasmom, I'm a big fan of lowfat and nonfat kefir (like a yogurt drink but even better for you than yogurt, considered to be a "superfood"). You can find it at Whole Foods and some other places. Really high in protein and even has fiber, another benefit over yogurt. If you slice in some banana or strawberries, it's the perfect balanced snack with tons of nutrients.

I'm kind of in shock because lately it seems as if the weight is falling off of me - yippee!! I've been trying to eat more protein and less carbs and the carbs I do eat are usually the whole grains/high fiber kind. I've also stepped it up on the treadmill and I think that's helped a lot too. Mentally trying to prepare for my vacation next week. I've stocked up on Luna bars so I'll bring some of them along with me. It's going to be really hard to be good as I won't be at home eating my own food and we're going to be at Disney for 3 of the days. Maybe the walking around will help but it won't be the same as a day at the gym. Thanks jds17 for the kefir idea - I'll have to look for it, never heard of it before but I'll give it a try. Leopardrayne, eggs are a good protein idea but I've never really liked them :( I guess I could throw the egg whites in a protein shake and I wouldn't even taste it? Maybe, we'll see :)

Doing things as a group would be really helpfull for me; atleast I will try to be motivated.. Hmm, I am 5' 6 and weight 177 pounds, whereas my ideal weight should be somewhere in 130- 140 range. I really want to get to lose almost 50 pounds by Sep this yr. I know its a really a short time span, but I do want to weigh that on that day..

What was once lost is now found. I found one of the pounds that I was missing last week. At least it was only one. Last week I only made it to the gym once, not the four that I usually do. Funny how life gets in the way every now and then. But there is no rest for those of us that want to lose the weight. Right!! I will be there at least four times this week.
It looks like eveeryone's scales are heading the right way. Keep it up.

I am surprised that I lost this week. It has been a very stressful two weeks. I am running my a** off for my two girls. Between both playing softball and one in Sparks, it's crazy. I am really feeling it. I have felt tired all week. I can't get out of bed in the mornings and I am the type of person that as soon as the sun comes up, I am awake and out of bed.
I have updated the weight log. If anyone else wants to be added to it, just let me know. I find it very helpful as to where I am each week.
