Missing Son, Prayers Please

EDIT: Chris went missing September 3rd 2007, here is a link to his web site, please let everyone you know know about this. Thank you.

I'm crying as I'm typing, so please overlook all typos...I'm really not all here.

Our son, who turned 18 last month, has been missing now for 76 hours. He went to work Monday, left work and no one has heard from him nor seen him since. He wasn't having any problems with us, Sunday we all were together and had a great time. He wasn't having any problems with his girlfriend. He did have a bad day at work and we are guessing he went off on a drive too cool down, but we really don't know. He didn't say anything to anybody about where he was going. He was in a hurry to get to work that day and left his wallet home. So he has no money on him nor any access to money. We were able to get into his bank account today and there hasn't been any unusual activity in the last month. We have called everyone he knows and no one knows anything. His girlfriend has called everyone she can think of too.

This is so out of character for him. He has never done anything like this before.

The police are involved and doing all they can. Two different aerial searches were done today and tomorrow there is a ground search going on with volunteers and the police department. He has been listed as a missing person in all 50 states along with a description of his blazer. The police department made up fliers for us to put around town. The top of it says "Missing Person, Suspicious Circumstances".

This is so unreal. This is something that happens on TV, not in real life. The roller coaster of emotions is beyond imagination. The possibilities of what has happened to him and where he might be are endless. To the East of us is a canyon, to the West is desert hills. He could be anywhere. Not knowing anything is the worst.

My husband and our other children are hitting their limits too. Our home is crazy is an understatement. We have had lots of friends and family offer love and support. Meals have been brought in for three days. Our phones are ringing off the hook with well wishers and everyone wondering what they can do.

I'm sorry for going on and on, I just want to cover all the bases, but I'm sure I've missed some things.

Prayers are definitely welcome.

Mostly I'm still in shock. I'm not sure I'll be back on the site for a while. I will post as soon as we know anything.

Please everyone take care, and go hug your kids...

I tried uploading the flier but it didn't happen, I'm not sure why.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It does help to know that people care.

EDIT: I took a picture of the flier and added it to my pictures

Hi,

I truly hope that its just a case of he needed to be away for a few days. I really hope that you find him.

Anne
My fingers are crossed.  Know that we are all praying for you.
Robin

Shannon-

Everyday we include Christopher Robin and your family in our prayers, too. I can't help but check this thread for news. I love the Peace that our prayers are giving you and the strength that God is showing you that you have! You will get through this with your faith in God and nothing will ever hold you back for the rest of your life! I feel that you and your family are meant for great things in the future.

God bless-

Lolo

Forgive me if this was posted earlier (I skimmed back but didn't see it), but I just found this article:

http://www.childseeknetwork.com/?archive=2496

It's brief, but at least its one more source of attention.
Shannon,  ((((HUG))))!

Like Carrihound said, we're here with you until the day Chris is found.  Feel free to come in here and cry, vent, pray, be comforted, whatever it is you need.  We are lifting you and your family in prayer.
I check this post every day, hoping for good news. I hope the new lead ends up in his safe return. Good luck Shannon!
You and your family are always in my thoughts and prayers.  Hoping to hear good news soon.   God Bless
I am thankful for some good news today to help us keep hope!  Thank you Lord!

I'm hoping and wishing the vigil went well this evening, and you, your son, and family are in my prayers!! Praying to hear good news soon!

did I miss something? Is there any new news? Still praying.
The new lead sounds really promising!

Come home Christopher Robin!!!

I hope that you will find some peace soon. I am so amazed at how well you have been keeping it together.
Shannon,
The car being sighted is definitely some promising news!
Please know that our prayers are continually with Chris, you and your family!
God does not send us into battles for which we have no armor.

The Lord is taking care of you, and your son too, in His own way.  You will be ok.  Hang in there.
Praying.
What a refreshing and hopeful lead that is!!!  Hoping with all my heart this is the last leg of this nightmare for you.  Always in our hearts and prayers.
Did I just miss it or did shanfood update us after the candlelight vigil on Wednesday?

anxiously awaiting any news....
I'm sorry I haven't been on for a while, this emotional roller coaster is so hard to take. The sighting wasn't as good as we had hoped it would be, and there haven't been any other strong leads.

The candlelight vigil went well. It was really windy and most candles couldn't stay lit for long. It was great having people there to support us and to have a moment to be with friends. The police spoke about the case and then Chris' favorite high school teacher said the prayer. It was beautiful. Then Dave talked for a few minutes about keeping the hope alive and continuing the search. After that we had a moment of silence and then Steve Swift, a local musian did a medly of Pink Floyd songs (Chris' favorite) ending with "Wish You Were Here". It was very emotional.

ABC4 news did another story on us and has some footage of the vivil. I think this is the link

http://www.abc4.com/mediacenter/local.aspx?vi deoid=76039@video.ktvx.com&navCatId=8

Other news media also covered the story which is what we wanted, we need to keep his name and picture out there so people are looking for him, or when they see him they know to call it in right away.

Today is not a good day, we are going to see the Chief and see what else needs to be done. I'm going to try to go to work today for a couple of hours, I know we need to keep going on, but it is so hard.

Dave is with me when I check this thread every now and again, the other day he said "You should really thank them for all they are doing and all the support we get from them." So from him as well as from me THANK YOU so much for being somewhere we can come for comfort and support, somewhere we can come to pray with you and know that your thoughts and prayers are with us. Thank you for helping us keep our hope.

~Shannon
I think the signs will help alot, Shannon.  You all are doing a great job.  I would not let people stop you from doing things your way too... The police are good and have technical things they can do and have the legal rights.  But parents have their hearts!  We are still standing with you guys.  God Bless.
Still with you Shannon.... I'm keeping the thoughts and prayers your way.
sending love, white light and prayers...
