A big shout out to my girls from the "Lose 10 lbs by date, 2008" post. ( : Since starting that post, I am down almost 18 lbs.
People asked about a new post. Here it is!

I am feeling good if very tired.
Today was my first day back at work/school. Instead of feasting on free doughnuts, I sipped green tea and enjoyed an apple. At 10AM, they replenished the lard basket (I mean, doughnuts) and we took a break. I ate a banana. At lunch, when the SUbway 16 foot subs, chips, and junk food came out, I had a piece of sandwich with 1/2 the bread -- and enjoyed it with my brought from home salad and pudding. And I drank enough water.
I got up early today and got in my workout BEFORE work -- 400 cals burned biking and Bowflex'ing. GO ME
We can do this, ladies!!!!

194 lbs today... funny how i can ALWAYS see how dieting pays off yet sometimes cannot make myself eat the planned amount of cals and go over:)
Don't feel bad ka, if it was easy we wouldn't need all this wonderful support. Just gotta keep tryin'!
sure! good thing is, it DOES get easier with time to avoid bad habits and stick to healthy ones - and the support here plays a big part in that:)

I wore one of the pairs of capris to work that I couldn't* fit in a month ago. I must say, I'm feelin' rather spunky myself today!

I just realized today that weighing in at 166 even was the same as the day I started this post again finally. I had a huge spike like the day after I posted this and have been working on it ever since. I did not make my goal of 160 by today/when kids came back to school, but that is ok. I feel pretty good about my summer and all I got accomplished. : D
and I KNOW my butt is smaller now than it has been in a long time. ( :
Upping my cals seems to have helped.

Gypsierose....you go chicklet....you will be below 200 by Christmas so soon you can start shopping for a new holiday outfit.....yippee.
Olivia, I am so happy for you, all that hard work is so paying off.
Immom, I am maintaining also; I cannot be upset but I so want the scale to go down. I feel like I am doing everything right although I could be working out more cardio wise but I feel sick just thinking about it, yuk, yuk,yuk, I have also changed my calories by upping them by about 200 more so I am eating between 1300 and 1400.

157.2 for me today..I am two days prior to expected visit from Aunt Flo. Hopefully I will break away from this plateau soon and see 153.9

I had an epiphany recently. I feel better when I eat more. Who would have thunk it????? I really analyzed what I was burning and eating, and on the advice of some awesome cc buds, upped my cals to 600-1700. MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had been just having green tea or breakfast, but adding a small 70 cal protein in the 30 minutes after my shower, before getting in the car at 6:30 to go to work made a difference.
Ditto keeping the same 10:30AMish snack and adding at least 200 cals to lunch for a goal of around 600 by the time I get home. Maybe an afternoon snack most days --- usually fruit or string cheese.
I have been eating since 6PM and it is 8. I am full. I still have dessert cals if I want them. ( :

That's so great Olivia! Wow, feeling better AND losing weight! What a deal!!! Gotta admit, I was a little shocked to hear that you used to only have green tea for breakfast. What were ya thinkin'??? Gotta give that beautiful bod some fuel, girl! Especially someone who gets up early and works out. To be honest, I think you ought to have more than a 70 cal protein shake...but at least it's a step in the right direction. Keep that metabolism humming.
Figuring out the proper amount of calories to consume is so confusing. I have also upped mine but I read that your weight may go up before it comes down. Well mine maintained so hopefully on Friday the change will show. I am not a breakfast eater although I really try. I was wrapping some lunchmeat in a piece of bread which was good then that started making me sick so I am back to a Special K breakfast bar. This morning that made me feel ill so I will try the lunchmeat again. I swear I have had morning sickness since I was pregnant with my 16 year old son!! Missed the gym yesterday because had to give a tour at the zoo in 95 degrees. We had a small reception afterwards and I drank a bottle of white wine (yes the whole thing because a friend and I stayed till ten just chatting). I knew it would probably kill me this morning but it did not....I was shocked because I like wine but it does not like me. I guess i have to stick to the expensive stuff.....lol.
My husband's motto is to make all his vices really expensive ones...that way he can't afford to over indulge. Thus he buys $60 scotch and takes a year and a half to drink it. Doesn't work quite that way for me, I take awhile (~3 mon.) to drink it and then can't afford to buy it again for another year! Same result, I guess. (;
