I am 5'9 140..looking to drop 10 by the time I go see my boyfriend in Los Angelos (July 17th) anyone want to form a support group..I need motivation!!

 the only thing that works for me as far as motivation goes, is a big goal.(realistic goal) Example, 10 pounds by 4th of july......starting 7 weeks prior to date.

First a small goal... meaning something in 2 weeks, but have a major goal in mind. Like, for me it is a vacation, but it could be smaller like a family reunion or something like that. The problem with just having a big goal is it is easy to cheat, cause you think, "oh it is 6 weeks from now this chip won't hurt". You need to take baby steps.

I was stagnant for my first 4 weeks. This is really a downer. I mean I was doing everything I thought would get me there. I didn't give up,and then I swear my body looked different over night. I am not kidding. It was the strangest thing. I am so glad I kept plugging through. I didn't think my body was going to change. The scale is not the best way to determine weight loss. You can lose body fat, and the scale is not going to say that. so keep in mind how you feel. You will get there. Baby steps.

Last weeks weight: 133 Ughh - Why do I sabotage myself?!?!?

i gained 4 lbs this week myself.  i knew i shouldn't eat that candy, and the ice cream, and the junk food in particular, but i thought a little wouldn't hurt. so now i'm stressing about getting this weight off! grr! so now from 144, i'm up to 148. god i hope its from eating the dairy and that my body is just bloated from it!

I don't see how I can lose 9 lbs by July, but it's sure fun trying!  Wink

adge1967- that happened to me also where for months i felt like i was on a plateau, scale weight same, kept plugging along, then seemingly overnight everyone noticed the change in my body at once and the scale dropped.

jjbolt- i'm also thinking losing even 5 lbs for my by july is unrealistic, but i'll enjoy whatever loss i get from trying!

I know can you believe that happens?! My body changing came all at the time I was really starting to doubt my body would ever change. So I said to my self..... One last shot, Make this week my best and wammo. ALso the trainer helped too. But I am absolutely smaller.

Good luck with the 5 pounds! I am sure you will do it. Also, I never drank water before. I am not kidding. I really think that the water helped just like everyone said it would!!!

Can't believe I lost 6 pounds in a week.I am also journaling everyday so I can reinforce what works and doesn't work. I am doing much better with portion control... even had half a skinny cow last night and was satisfied. I don't feel the need to go back for more, just the desire. Waiting 20 minutes between snacking really helps me. I also drink at least one gallon of water a day. I am feeling great!!!

amberwolg-what are you doing to loose 6 pounds in one week? Good job...

I am on the zone. I am eating about 11 or 12 blocks of protein with carbs thrown in sparingly. Not quite so sparingly...

I have a protein shake or eggs for breakfast, lunch is eggs or stuffed bell pepper with taco meat and peppers only (no rice). Snack - cheese stick or vanilla low-fat yogurt. Dinner - sloppy joes on corn tortilla or lettuce, stuffed bell peppers, tacos... Desert - skinny cow ice cream, yogurt, fat free - sugar free pudding. Also plenty of water... at least half gallon a day (that is 64 oz). The more water the better, keeps your system moving.

For cheats I add peanut-butter to apples or have a few low-fat pretzles or a medium serving of popcorn. (1/3 bag)

My bridesmaid lost 40 pounds in 3 months doing this. She went from an 18 or 20 to a 10. It is awesome.

I made a gain! But I've been eating really badly lately, I'm still trying to keep a defecit but I know I'm having a LOT of sodium. I probably am retaining water especially because I've been drinking it like it's my job. hopefully it'll even out with my working out by next weigh in :)

so I got the LSAT out of the way on monday...blah, get results back in 3 weeks. My workout schedule has been non existant because I've been so excited to have a social life back that I've been going out every night. Plus...I cut off all my hair...so had to go out and show it off....also...fingers still blistered from my freezer accident 2 weeks ago, which makes things a lil difficult. Anyone have good tips on how to keep back short hair while working out? Anyways, I'm down this week, but most likely cause of the DRINKING!!! last night...ahhh. By the way, going camping alllll weekend, so will most likely be drinking more. lol.

amberwolg, way to go! i was on the zone delivery for over a month it really helped with understanding the portions. The water is truly the key. I never believed people when they said drink water!

today I weigh 122. and My goal is 115.

 

I have lost a few pounds since the start but I think i am retaining some Water weight since I am PMSing today. Unfortunately I have been in bed for the past 36 hours. I really got hit with a killer cold. Kinda like the flu but I am hungry. Go figure right?!

My goal date is July 4. I know I will get down to 118. I just have to keep going. I tried on my old  bikini's that haven't been pulled out in years. happy to see  they fit again.  Almost there!!!!!!

Missed weigh in yesterday but here goes...
