Biggest Loser CHallenge PART 7 SIGN UPS:
http://caloriecount.about.com/forums/post/104 479.html
============================================= =======
Papa you are so great! Your words of encouragement really mean a lot.
Hey guys.
I was JUST coming on here to mention that I self-sabotage when I get to a new low weight. I'm trying to break the 190 mark, get to the 180s, but when I get close to that number (closest I've been is 192) I gain.
I basically do somethign stupid like eat a bunch of stuff I know I shouldn't.
I don't know why I do it. Perhaps it's because I've always been heavy, and unlike some I don't know what I'll look like when I reach my goal. I won't be able to, recognize, imagine myself at such a place and a part of that scares me.
So I sabotage. I read someone else does it to, but how can I combat this? I really and truly don't want to put my weight back on and want to keep losing to reach my goals, but when I stand in my own way it makes it REALLY hard.
Anyone know how I can get through/past this? I don't want to take 6 steps forward and 5 steps back all the time. I've, ultimately, been doing that since I started CC in october.
I want it to stop now.
Cristin - You are welcome! And you can count on me anytime!!!
Austj020 - A little trick I use for myself is this.... If I want to break into for me the 260's I do not set my goal at just 269, I set mine for 265, once I have stayed at 265 for more than three days straight I then tell everyone that I have broke into the 260's even though I have probably already been there for almost a week. Then there was the idea from earlier "Write it before you bite it!!!" you have no clue how that has helped me in so many instances. This last Thanksgiving for an example... I love turkey, taters and gravy, and my pumpkin pie! Pumpkin pie is one of my all time weaknesses. This is what I did though. I got my plate then sat down at the table wrote down everything on my plate and while eating I looked everything up to find out about calorie intake. After doing that and making myself take the time to look everything up (about 25 minutes) it did two things for me. It slowed me down (normally about 2 and a half plates would be down in that time.) and the second it showed me exactly how many calories I had taken in off of one plate. That did it for me, I was full and I saw exactly what I had eaten. Plus for me I just use good ole will power!
You need to kick that little voice in your head out!!!!! I used to have it too so do NOT feel like you are alone in this. That little voice has been to see all of us in one way shape or form! You need to visualize yourself the way you want to be. From your profile I see you live in Vegas there are a lot of "pretty" people there, but I can tell you this probably half or more are fake! They get surgery to look the way they do, you want to do this for yourself and you have to get pissed off and set your goals to what makes you happy. I have set mine in 10 pound increments, for you it might be five pounds. Each person is different. You find what makes you happy and stick with it. I will also be here to help you every step of the way! Ok? Ok! Now get out there and kick that little voices a$$! Keep telling yourself you can do it and then get out there and get it done!!!
Papa
papa3169 - Thanks for the encouraging words! So nice and helpful! I will definitely work on writing down what I eat, before I eat it. That could help with the guilt factor also I feel after a "bad" day.
Yeah, there are a lot of "fake pretty" people here in Vegas, and being always warm I want to be able to feel comfortable in a bikini. Now let me tell you there's more to feeling comfortable in a bikini than just losing weight, I will say most of my phobia of bathing suits is mental. Basically I refuse to wear a bikini until I can rock it with confidence. How I go about doing that lol, I don't know, especially being friends with all the "pretty" people who react in an insane way when I say "yeah, I've never worn a bikini".
I will say, don't know if anyone else feels like this, but I have issues feeling comfortable in my "new" body. Subconscious of things I have to remember don't really exist or are in considerably better shape than they were when I was 242 (which is what I was when I lived in Michigan 2 years ago). So I've not only got physical work to do, I have mental work to do as well hehe.
Austj020 - Right now you say you don't feel comfortable in you "new" skin and that you don't know if you will feel comforatable in a bikini. Well, I can tell you this from experience when I started the weight loss thing I was at 350 lbs. I would not even think of taking my shirt off in public. I thought I looked gross! Well, two years have gone by and I am happy to say that I am proudly going without a shirt when I work in the yard, or wash the car, and I am not ashamed when I go to the pool with my son any more. The people that are close to me say they can see the confidence that has come back into my personality since losing the weight. Yes, you have to feel comfortable in your own skin before you walk out in something as revealing as a bikini, but you also need to surround yourself with people that understand that you have never worn one before and in order to be able to wear one you need thier support and encouragement. Just a few last words before I head home....... 1. WE ARE ALL A LITTLE MENTAL DON'T THINK IT's JUST YOU!!!!! & nbsp; 2. When you do wear your bikini for the first time I AM SURE YOU WILL ROCK IT, AND ROCK IT HARD!!!!

ARRRRGGGHHHH
159 UP .8 from last week
sorry team
Hey guys,
I'm weighing in at 198 today which is like 4.5 more lbs than I was last week. I'm pretty sure it's water weight, but I'm going to wait until tomorrow to post it. Maybe it will have left by then lol.
Cross your fingers.
Haha! I'm the opposite, austj020! I am glad I weighed in yesterday cuz today I swear I am so bloated!! Good luck!
Hey Team!
I've enjoyed reading all the posts - quite a few to catch up on as I didn't have time to log into the thread yesterday. Well done to everybody who has lost or stayed the same, and well done to those who in spite of gaining have not given up, and will kick a$$ next week!
I weighed yesterday, but didn't post until today - lost 1lb again this week, down to 176 - NEARLY at my first mini-goal of 175, YAY!
Have a good week everyone:)
hi team and congrads on the losses!! i am feeling a bit better today.... i went out and walked 1/2 mile.... was all i could handle, coughing every step! made it impossiable to go on..... so tomorrow maybe a bit longer..... maybe i will work this cold out of me!! i did eat good today!!! got all but about 50 cals..... but hope that growling tummy is just welcomeing more food!! cause i feel stuffed!!
and papa, if i would have lost a couple of pounds would have made me feel a bit better! but i didnt lose any!! but i didnt gain either! which is cool as long as i didnt go up!
well have a great nite all and good luck!!
Hey Family,
Sorry about not being around yesterday. I had a class I had to go to. I am now one step closer to being able to foster/adopt a baby girl. I have my boy now I want a baby girl! I will be the dad you hear about in the song "Cleanin' my gun" (Country if you did not know) I think 6'2" 250 or there about could put a damper on any guy thinking he is going to do anything to my baby girl!
Anyway, I weighed in yesterday at 266! Lost the half pound then some from last week. Pants are still fitting loser and loser so that is the best part.
Zena - If the family would not accept my apologies last week, because things like that happen then I am going to tell you the same "Poop happens, shake it off and go at it twice as hard next week!" You can do it, and DON'T LET IT GET YOU DOWN!!!!
Austj020 - It is fine, water weight is a witch, I may not be a woman and effected like ya'll are, but I do notice the days I drink more water than another it happens to guys too. I just cut down on the water intake for a couple of days and then it seems to work itself out. Good Luck on your weigh-in! You can do it!
Cristin - Now that is one thing I am glad I don't have to worry about, lately though I feel like I am caving in on myself. It has been a long time since I have been this weight and when I started seeing the bottom of my ribcage agian it started feeling like that. It is a good feeling don't get me wrong, but it just kinda feels weird. I know I will get used to it again, because I will NOT get back up to the weight I used to be.
Letsgetitstarted - Congrats on ALMOST reaching your first goal. Next week you will get there and past it! As long as you keep that in the forefront next week you will blow it out of the water! I am getting down to the last 15 and for me it is getting harder and harder, but as long as I keep seeing it come of in inches instead of weight I will be good with that also though. Keep up the good work!
Wildntaken - Good to see you back, even if not full time yet. I spent three weeks down last year with Pneumonia and I know it is no fun. I lost about 10 pounds during the sickness and I then when I got better I gained it all back. Keep getting better and get back into it when you feel like you can. Don't push to hard or you may end up sick again.
Well, better get back to work. Talk to you ladies later.

Team 3 SW - 201.5 Wk1 - 199 Wk2 - 194 Wk3 - 193.5
This week 4 - 198 :( Sorry team...I'm pretty sure it's water weight
Loss This week = +4.5 Total Competition loss= -3.5
Grr. I'm upset about these numbers, but I'll do better next week. Gotta keep at it though, despite the upsetness...
Ok, first things first, Austj020, if you need motivation I am running behind you and chasing you down!!! You have to stay in front of me or I am going to run you ragged. I am pretty sure any of you would rather be with the trainer on the biggest loser if I got ahold of you. Remember when I first started on the weight loss thing I restricted MYSELF to under 1500 calories a day, and working out twice a day 6 days a week. I lost a little over 40 pounds in the first two months. Granted it is not as much as the guys on Biggest Loser, but I can be just as much of a "B*****d" as she can be a "B***h". Oh, and by the way QUIT POINTING THE FINGER AT YOURSELF!! It is ok, it happens, just don't give up and get out there and kick this thing in the butt!!!!
Papa
185 - 1 more lb gone -
loss of 6 for the challenge
11 total since 3-15
hey team 3..... the weekend is almost here...... and its a exciting - dreadful one for me..... we have a azalea fest here every may..... and it is this weekend.... the exciting part is i get in alot of walking!! the bad part is the food!! they usually have terriki sticks (sorry spelled wrong) it is so yummy!! but a very small portion and funnel cake!
which i could do without the funnel cake since it is loaded with cal. but i know i cant past up the terriki sticks!! they are lean meat so they are protein... but i dont know how to add up the calories..... i usually cheat on saturdays anyway but i dont go over board..... so i will keep that in mind.... anyway..... i am going to get alot of walking in there and cant wait....
so with that said.....
i went out and walked a mile today..... coughing towards the end of the mile.... but after the 3rd lap i thought to myself..... this is boring!! so what do i do??? the next lap - i marched like i was in a band or something..... boy did i feel it in my legs!!! and felt my wigglely tummy shaking!!
but i could only do 1/2 lap.... the next lap i did sideways..... that was fun! next lap, dont laugh!! i did the walking jumpjacks.... i bet i looked like a big ape in the backyard!!
each lap i did, i did something different.... shook things up a bit...... made it a little more fun..... stupid looking i am sure, but different! dont know if i burnt more cals. that way or not... but i had fun acting stupid!!
well you all have a great weekend!!! and good luck!!
Hahah Wildntaken!! That is Great!!! who cares if it looked silly!! I bet you burned so many calories ( and maybe entertained a neighbour or two! ) Great idea!
Has anyone noticed that we are the only Team that has not lost anyone due to missed weigh-ins. We did have a couple miss this weeks weigh in, but we will not let that happen again. I truely believe the reason we have not lost anyone is because we have formed a tighter group bond than the other teams. I can honestly say that the more people you have that you can count on along your journey of losing ALL the weight you want you have to have a very good support group. Somewhere you can go when you need the encouragement or the added motivation to get back into high gear. We have that the other two teams don't (from what I can see anyway). So for all that I just want to pass on a hardy THANK YOU MY FAMILY (TEAM 3) YOU ARE MY SUPPORT AND MY MOTIVATION!!!
Everyone have an awesome weekend, and don't party TOO MUCH at your Cinco De Mayo parties this weekend.
Later
Papa
