I'm a dieting veteran.... up and down the same 20lbs since highschool! I've always lost it on Weight Watchers...but I wanted to try something new. So, here I am. I'm looking to start a group of late 20- early 30 year olds who are interested in losing weight and getting healthy. I'm 5' 9" 160lbs. I'm looking for others that have about 20-30lbs to lose. Hopefully there's some people out there!!
Happy New Year!
Greetings!
I'd like to join you gals, if that's alright with you.
My name is Amberly, I'm 28, though 29 is rapidly creeping upon me! I've been on Calorie Count on and off for quite some time. I need it yet again, to get ready for the summer. Though, I must admit, with all this rain it feels like summer will never come again!
I'm 5'5ish (ok not quite, but almost!) and I currently weigh 138. I feel best when I'm 125, so I'd like to get back there. Then stay there!
Can't wait to get to know you~
Hey everyone! I missed my weigh in on Sunday (I've been using a friend's scale) and I decided to not weigh myself until the end of this week. Hopefully I'll see some results . . . and I'm buying my own scale tonight so there won't be anymore excuses!
Paige, today is a new day. I think we've all had those days where we binge and just can't get enough food. The hardest thing for me was to own up to it and actually put EVERYTHING I ate on CC. But I ended up using it as motivation. Seeing the numbers push 2500 or even close to 3000 cal/day kind of woke me up. The day after always leads to making better choices, so those "bad days" we all have are just par for the course. I'm happy to see you're sticking with it. I've said it before, but you all truly are the best motivation for me.
haveyjb, congrats on the activities. Sounds like you found a good way to have fun and exercise at the same time! I find it especially hard to do activities in the winter that get me up and moving, but bowling and dancing sound good to me. Thanks for the idea.
I'm pretty excited since today is my OWID (Official Weigh In Day) and we haven't decided on one to post here AND I worked off 1.8 pounds for a total of 9.8 pounds since Jan. 3rd. My heart is so happy!!!
This is helping me with self control and discipline. Now granted I'm not at my goal yet...but I think I've mentally won the battle so the rest of it seems to just be a matter of time. I hope you ladies are excited about your OWID!
Jen -- congrats on the 10 pound loss this month!! That's incredible!!
Innocent -- I didn't own a scale for a LONG time just so I would have the excuse that I couldn't look (and when I got too antsy, it would force me to go to the gym). I think it's definitely better to be able to check it at home, but I would recommend getting a decent scale. I bought mine at the 99 cent store (no joke!) and I'm always worried that it's not really accurate.
Amber -- Welcome!! The more the merrier, and certainly more support ![]()
Welcome Amberly
I hope we can help you. Everyone here has helped me a ton to stay focused and know if you screw up one day then all is not lost you just go again tomorrow and do better.
Haveyjb-I still don't own a scale at home and I kind of like it that way so I can't be getting on it all the time. It keeps me having to go to the gym for my 1 week weigh in.
Innocent _sin-Yea I really try hard to make sure I account for all I eat and keep it logged in that way I can see where I need to improve and how I'm doing. Like my day the other day-eventhough I ate terrible I logged it all in that way I could see it. I started at eating on a D- level and have now picked it up to a B and sometimes a B+. That motivated me to do better each time.
Jen You are awesome! For the month of January I totaled losing 5 pounds. I didn't make it to the gym this morning so I will have to see where I'm at later on tonight when I go or tomorrow early morning. I really try to weigh in the morning. I think you get a better real number so I may wait till the morning to weigh in but I'm hitting the gym later tonight after work.
Tomorrow is my 1st year wedding anniversary. No plans other than we may go buy a new car. I guess we will see. Take care and all have a great weekend.

hello friends!!
i am so glad to hear that everyone is doing well. great job getting back on track, paige!!
i have some good news...for the past few weeks i have weighed in from 129 to 128.5, then 128. i knew i was loosing, but i was getting sooo discouraged that the weight was coming off so slowly. i hopped on the scale today and it was down to 126!! I am thrilled. SO, everyone out there who is loosing slowly or not at all, don't despair! just keep at it and it will happen! i'm not counting this as my official weigh-in because a VERY TRICKY WEEKEND is upon us. SUPERBOWL!! My new loss just may keep me away from the hot wings and fatty dips and chips...maybe!
official weigh-in monday for me...talk to you all then (fingers crossed for 126 still)
wishing everyone an incredible weekend...congrats on the anniversary, paige...good luck with the potential car buying!

Way to Go Missea1
Congrats to everyone on their losses! Great work.
I am looking for my motivation. I started back to work after over 3 years home with my kids on Jan 14th and I am having a really hard time sticking with the calories. I do fine all day and then I work from 2-7 so I'm getting really hungry and either stopping at Burger King or eating seconds if my husband makes dinner at home.
I have lost .2 lbs in 3 weeks and know why, but need suggestions/motivation.
Thanks!
waddope...
i need that boost too. i just want these last 15-20 lbs gone by MAY. when i was feeling hungry last night, i had steamed cauliflower, steamed broccoli, and fried ( with spray on PAM) egg whites. the calories for 6 egg whites was about 90 calories, protein 21 g, sodium 300 mg, 0 fat, 0 carbs, 0 cholesteral. this is according to the liquid brand that i bought because it varies. ( i did add my own pinch of salt and pepper)... and that was dinner!
my weigh in: today i'm 151, last week 152.
i have this incredible urge for chocolate cake. i think i might just have it, get it over with, move on, and start fresh tomorrow. i live in the downtown core of a major city surrounded literally by hundreds of restaurants. every treat you can imagine is within seconds from me. on my street alone there is atleast 10 restaurants. i have a convenient store across the street from my apartment open 24 hours... so for the fact that i have resisted it for so long, i think a little indulgence can't do any harm today.
still happy about the 1 lb loss nevertheless. good luck everyone!
Happy Monday, ladies!!
Paige -- Happy Anniversary!!!! Did you get the car?
Missea -- Isn't it a great feeling when you've hit a plateau or losing PAINFULLY slowly, then all of a sudden you drop a couple of pounds? That's the best! Congrats!
waddope -- Are you able to eat at work (are you at a desk)? I would try to have a meal and a snack before you head home, that way you won't be as prone to stopping at BK. And make sure you are getting enough protein... I find when I'm not eating protein like I should be, I ALWAYS crave fast food!
samiaz -- I've had the chocolate cake urge too... Weight Watchers has a mini-snack cake line out (which includes devil's food). The cakes are small, but only 80 calories, so they don't hurt too much. Give that a shot, and congrats on the weight loss!
Official weigh-in:
last week: 170
this week: 168!!!
I'm really happy, but I know that the evil "girlie" time is rapidly approaching, so let's see if I can try to stay there. Have a good day, everyone!
Sounds like some of you are doing amazing - congrats on the losses havey, missea and jenn! And welcome new people!
I am stuck in a bit of a rut - I get down to 124,5, get cocky becauase it's under 125, stop sticking to my diet, up to 126.5 the next week, then start getting worried again. I need to get off this 3-lb loop! And stick to it!
I think it might be about short-term motivation and mini-goals - looking good in a bathing suit in July is just too far away for me. A couple of pounds by Valentine's will probably be a good challeng. Also, I've had a cold lately so I'm motivated to eat more fruit (not sure if it's a myth, but fruit can't do me too much harm), and also my skin has flared up so I'm staying away from refined sugar (it's worked for me before). Any one else have any other good ideas to stop myself from slacking off because I'm close to my goal?
Good Morning Ladies,
Well I didn't get my weigh in until today and I'm down to 195. I lost 2pounds last week. Totaling 7 pounds lost for January! That's is so awesome and just this weekend alone 3 different people that saw me asked just out of the blue if I'd lost weight cause I'm looking better!
Man now that's some awesome motivation! We went looking for cars for our anniversary saturday but haven't found what we want yet. We both want trucks but they are expensive.
Congrats all of yall for sticking with it and losing! We are going to hit our goals. Today was planned much better. I have my lean cuisine here at work and baby carrots for a snack. Diet dp for the caffeine and then I'm pushing my water. Hope you all are having a great monday. Did you see the Superbowl? Hooray Giants!
This weekend was pretty tough...Friday I was more hungry than I ever remember being before...I could have logged my day but decided not to. We also celebrated two of my good friends birthday's and the Superbowl...YIKES! I weighed this morning and I was at 190.2...gained a pound. Through this week I will get things back to normal and hopefully still lose a pound from last week. Oh and this month I am adding in exercise to my schedule. Woo Hoo!
Random: we ate at Applebee's and I ordered the deal thing with an appetizer-cheese sticks, main course-steak w/mashed potatoes and mac and cheese and dessert-chocolate oreo shooter (I should have chosen something off the weight watchers menu). Let's just say my stomach (and the rest of my body) was mad at me for at least 12 hours...mental note to self after eating well (or at least better) that much grease/fat/calories will make me grumpy and more gassy.
To those of you who indulged this weekend, start this week off with me by at least drinking 64 oz of water today.
Thanks everyone for your support and keeping us informed with how you are doing!
weigh-in from yesterday, 139.2! I am finally under 140 for the first time in over 2 years. Also, finally to single digit lbs to go.
Thanks for all your support ladies.
Wow, Waddope! Under 140!! How many more to goal?
Jenprays, I seriously hear you on the greasy food - one bad meal after a week of eating healhty makes you realise you don't HAVE to be that hard on your stomach.
Hi everyone! I'm new to CC but found this thread and was happy to see people my age. I'm 27, from Texas, a junior in college and a single mom.
I started losing weight when I weighed in at 150 and today finally am at 133 after plateauing at 134 for a month. Yay, me!
Waddope- I will never forget the happiness of being under 140!! You go girl!
Hey guys! I've missed you! Well, between a really emotionally rocky weekend and the SuperBowl, I ate copious amounts of food all weekend and I am currently leaving a 3 foot berth between myself and my scale until next week's weigh in. Sigh. Oh well, the ONLY good part about football season being over is that there aren't any more parties or excuses to partake in ribs...and wings...and beer...and nachos, etc.
Anyway, I was really good yesterday and today, and I am committed to doing well this week. In fact, I have a shopping trip planned on Sunday as a reward for having a "clean" week.
Welcome to everyone new! Congratulations to all those who saw a loss this week!
