Can I join in? Started at 300 in June of 2007, now at 244, but struggled a little the last few weeks, and need to stay motivated.

And looking at your numbers, you are serious inspiration!!

Don't have a set goal yet, since I have never been anywhere close to thin or average in my adult life, so for now its 150/160 will see WHEN I get closer to that.

Oh and I'm 5'5", F, and 26.

Um, er, uh... can I give you my numbers on Saturday? Or on the morrow, O ye Poster of Plummeting Poundage? By your leave, and suchas and wotnot. :/

*Edit: Can I? Oh, I don't know if I can...Can I? Let me try that one more 'gin ...May I...? suchas and wotnot. :\

We got you on the board Sanfantasia!  Thanks for joining us.  Hope we can support you through the struggle to better times (just getting past a week of it myself).

May I as in Mother May I?  You got it Tracy!  Denise, good going with that loss - you are on your way :D!

Was able to stay on track and made it to the gym everyday. Its been raining hella so I havent been walking to much, but it didnt make a difference really this week.

February Weigh in

SW: 340 LBS

JAN 1st: 234 lbs.

FEB 1st: 228

Weight Lost in JAN: 6 pounds

No kidding - you guys rival the biggest loser people!
So glad to see everyone doing well and yes, some high losses there too!  To anyone who hasnt, the holidays taught much of us its about picking up, dusting off and not giving up.

Im expecting this to be a not so good weigh in tomorrow but Im glad that its just one week and I had previous weeks to do well plus already strongly back on track.

I'd love to join in, too!   Total loss:  46.5 lbs (edited Feb 1st/a.m. for weight)

What's your start weight?  305 lbs  (Aug/Sep 2007)
What's your current weight?  258.5 lbs  (Feb 1, 2008)
What's your goal weight?  185 lbs (but maybe will amend to 140 down the road)

185 is my goal right now.  I know that's still high, but one of my elementary school horrors (there were so many) was when my 6th grade Math teacher brought in a kilogram scale and weighed everyone in front of the classroom.  That day I weighed 86 kgs - - - 190 pounds - - - so my goal is to weigh less than that!  I've been heavy my whole life and when I saw 305 on the scale at the end of August 2007, I knew that it would never get easier to exercise and develop new better habits and a new self-image - so I started.  Everybody here is AMAZING.  I am so excited to have found such a great community of kind words and encouragement.

Hurray to everyone!   Smile

JANUARY NUTRITION REPORT

January was my fifth full month of eating healthy, and overall I am pretty happy with my end-of-the-month January Nutrition Report.

  • Fat - 14.1% (794 grams)
  • Protein - 33.4% (4,223 grams)
  • Carbohydrates - 52.5% (6,651 grams)
  • Daily Calorie Intake - 1,469 cals
  • Daily Cholesterol Intake - 170 mg
  • Daily Fiber Intake - 61 grams

FIBER61 grams of fiber on average is my highest month yet.  December was 59 grams, November was 50 grams, October was 48 grams and September was 40 grams.

CALORIES: 1469 calories is safely within my 1500-calories-per-day goal, and while it is a bit higher than previous months, January was the first month with corresponding fitness goals to help offset my decreased calorie deficit and slight calorie increase.

CHOLESTEROL: 170 is fantastic and well under American Heart Association Guidelines for daily cholesterol intake for people with high cholesterol and high triglycerides. My reduction in red meat and saturated fats continues to pay off.

CARBOHYDRATES: Yay! Another month between 50-55% carbohydrates, which is really helping to keep my diabetes under better control ... especially as shown in my January blood test results!

WEEKLY EXERCISE GOALS FOR JANUARY

  • WEEK OF DEC 31 ... GOAL 90 MINUTES ...   90 MINUTES
  • WEEK OF JAN 07  ... GOAL 90 MINUTES ...  126 MINUTES
  • WEEK OF JAN 14  ... GOAL 90 MINUTES ...  136 MINUTES
  • WEEK OF JAN 21  ... GOAL 90 MINUTES ...  103 MINUTES

I so want out of the 300's!!!!

TrainWreck, February is your month to get into the 200s!! That's my goal. We can dooooo it!  :)

Jan. 8:  311.2

Feb. 1:  299.6

Jan Loss:  11.6

Very happy for everyone! My not so good week was an understatment - I went into a binge mode since the weekend and was failing getting it together all week.  Feeling hypocritical since I couldnt break out of it but thankfully did Thursday morning and so great not to even feel tempted since.

That said though, I went to weigh in this morn and got on the scale 3x but the results matched.  I apparantly in one week gained 15 lbs!  Thats possible?  Im not playing saint but thats 11 over where I started Jan 1st.  Lost 4 lbs this month but back up 15 in just one.

At the risk of sounding lame, I am going to reweigh in Monday morn at the clinic and go with that for February.  Dont mean to 'cheat' and not expecting miracles but its hard to accept that as a real gain for one week.  Maybe Im in denial.  Its a bit hard for me to wrap my head around the number - wouldnt have thought I could gain 15 lbs in a week if I tried.

Guess Im looking to put a few more days instead of 24 hours between the end of that binge to see if it matters.  Hope Im not a downer for anyone as Im very excited for everyone who has lost!  Just extremely confused by the extremity of it.  Its certainly was a kick in the butt in case I do get tempted but again, glad to be in a better place now.
Jayne, sounds like you're experiencing the 5 stages of diet grief... denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance. You'll have a better February! You go right ahead and use your Monday weigh-in numbers, girl (don't make me no never mind). :)
Okay, thats scary because yes I sure hit those and in that sequence too!  Thanks Tracy - I needed that!
15 lb in one week? I gained 20 lb when I had my broken foot, but that was over 10 weeks of relative inactivity and worse food choices than normal. Not one week. In my case, a lot of it was water (most likely because I lost the first 10 lb with my first week back to exercise & diet) I would guess you might have a similar thing going on. It simply boggles the mind that you would have overeaten your BMR by over 50000 calories.
<<sun123>>> Be good this weekend and weigh-in Monday. I'm sure those extra pounds will be gone! I think you are right, you just need to give it a little more time because you are probably still holding onto some food & water from the binge episode. You did NOT undo all your hard work! Just keep up the faith!
