Finale Weigh-In:  Monday, Sept 1st, Labor Day: A day of rest from work, you can pat yourself on the back for the good you've done for your own body this summer~!

Set a reasonable goal that you think you can achieve with making better eating choices, exercising beyond your regular daily activities, drinking more water, counting calories.. however you want, as long as it's a good, healthy way to lose weight. Get started today!

    Wohoo another 3lb loss , so exited!  I still have not drank a single drop of beer since that last week of July when I told you guys I was going to try cutting it out and so far it's been making a huge difference so we'll see how long I can keep it going. ( So say's the alkie Embarassed )

    Hey Y'all!

    So I was looking back to the beginning of the weight loss challenge and I ave lost 12 lbs. so far! Yeah! So, I have 9 more pounds to lose in three weeks! Oh boy! I would be soooo happy to get out of the 200's by the end of this challenge! I really would! BTW congrats to all who have hung in there and kept going on this through the long hot summer days! And a special shout out to punkrockriot who is down 11 lbs.! Sweet!!!! Well we will see how this next week goes as I will be getting my aunt flo in pretty soon!

    Hey all! I wasn't able to post on Monday as I was out of town and not near my scale. The 'guest' scale read 169lbs, but sadly I don't think I'm that now. Too much time travelling(sitting on my butt) this past week and had a couple drinks in there too (wine and triple sec...not together).

    So I will have to skip my post for the 11th and just post next Monday the 18th.

    Hard to believe there are only 2 weeks left! Thanks stephtobea9 for posting this challenge. It is the second challeng I have participated in (the first was the July 4th challenge) and I have found them so motivating. It's good to know that you are accountable to someone and the other participants have been great.

    So, I've been looking around for the next challenge that will help me through the next 6 to 8 weeks. Has anyone seen one open up?  Something very generic, like this one is - not a specific pounds or percent or fitness goal - just set a goal and post your weight.

    Let me know if you find one. I know some familiar names came from the July 4th challenge to this one. Perhaps we can move on together to the next one???

    OMG! I can't believe it. I've surpassed my goal already! It's been looking like this the past couple days too so it's not a fluke. I'm so happy. Total it's only been 1.625lbs a week for this challenge, so I am just losing the weight in spurts. Not bad for my first challenge so far...I just gotta keep it up is all!

    I really hope my body is just playing some tricks on me.  It took me two months to get out of the 280s and if I am actually back some how, I will not be a happy lady.  Oh well, these things happen right.  I won't hit my goal now, but at least I tried.  If anyone creates another challenge like this, let me know and I'll do my best to hit that goal!

    It really sucks.  I was down to 182 then hit TTOM and now Im back up to 187.  Doesn't look like Im going to make my goal unless by some fluk all 5 lbs was water weight and I can lose it and the last two pounds in two weeks.

    It is that time of the month so I am not real worried about it cuz I feel like I am bloated beyond belief!!!!! Oh well this challenge has truly helped me and I will look for y'all on the next one!

    Holding steady at 178...expected to gain a couple of pounds because of no exercise other than work. As soon as it stops raining in south florida, I will go outside for exercise.  This I promise myself!

    Labor day Challenge Monday Weigh-in

    Start weight (June 18) 254

    GOAL: 240 (by Labor Day)

    • WEEK 1 (June 23): 250.5. Got over my period this week and experienced the typical (for me) several-pound-drop at the end, which makes up for the miniplateau I get during it. Also worked my tail off this week.
    • WEEK 2 (June 30): 249. On track!
    • WEEK 3 (July 7): 249. Bad week - repairs to pipes in our apartment have necessitated eating out more than normal.
    • WEEK 4 (July 14): 248-ish. Forgot to weigh today. Was 248 on Sunday and 245.5 on Tuesday. (Water loss for sure.)
    • WEEK 5 (July 21): 244! Well, this was the end-of-period several-pound loss again. 4 pounds in 6 weeks sounds pretty do-able. Maybe I should rearrange my goal. :D :D
    • WEEK 6 (July 28): 242. Things are proceeding apace.
    • WEEK 7 (Aug 4): ?  Weight was fluxuating a lot this week.  I got 240.5 one day, and 243.5 two days later.  See week 8 for details on why.  I failed to measure myself on Monday, so no weight recorded.  :/
    • WEEK 8 (Aug 11): 243.  Bleh.  A little backstep caused by a number of things.  A little overeating, a little less activity (pulled a muscle in my hip :/), and a little of the monthly thing.  Back on the exercise wagon as of yesterday, though - my hip is healed, I think.  And being a little more careful about the food - took the candy off my desk for one thing ;).
    • WEEK 9 (Aug 18): 239.  Goal achieved!  In fact this was my 3rd straight day under 240, so it's real.

    For those trying to fight the bloat, by the way, drink lots of water and try to keep your salt low.  This helps even during your period.
