Quote  |  Reply

I have 80lbs to lose until I reach my goal weight. Does anyone else have around 80lbs to lose? If so, post your stats and we can lose the weight together!

Here are my stats:

  • SW (Starting Weight): 194lbs
    CW (Current Weight): 185lbs
    GW (Goal Weight): 104-105lbs
  • Height: 5' 1"
  • Sex: Female
  • Age: 18

We're all here to support each other. So, whether you're having a great day or a horrible day, feel free to talk about it here. Post your weight updates whenever you feel comfortable doing so. There is only one rule here: Be kind. Let's not bring each other down.

Good luck!

Edit (July 11, 2008): The group is now open for those hoping to lose 60-80lbs.

Edit (August 2, 2008): Please include how much weight you've lost since joining the group (when you post updates on your weight). I think it'll be good to keep track of this. =)

Good afternoon everyone (at least for me)!  Having a postitive image day.  Keep catching myself in the mirror and I LOOK better.  Or maybe it's just that I feel better.  I've only lost a pound, but with the exercise and stuff, it looks like 10 to me.  Just wanted to put in my "stay positive" vibe for the day.  Wink

Hi there - this is my third (and last time) starting with CC, did years of WW prior on and off (due to life, pregnancy, $). This time I am trying to stay the course to maintenance and then figure that out! My final goal is to be done in the fall of 2009. long haul. I am not trying to go nuts and deprive myself of everything, just eat better and less. Chocolate, wine, steak - these are all still in my "diet", just limited amounts and counted. so, it may take some time.

My fitness goal is to attempt a sprint tri next summer, once I have a bike, can run some sort of distance, and get my lap count (swimming) up. Currently I am shaped a bit like a marshmallow (LOL), so I have a ways to go there. My other side fitness goal is to run around like a nut with my two small children (4 & 2) and have fun getting tired with them.

My stats:

  • SW: 216.1
  • CW: 202.4
  • GW (final): 130
  • Height: 5'2"
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 37

maytelopez, coolebyaka and goodsparks - Welcome to the group! With a little bit of support, I'm sure that we can all lose the weight. Smile

maria1801- Yay for Canadians!

unicat - Thanks for the tips and the words of encouragement!

trini5 - Thanks for joining us! I started seeing results after about 3 weeks. My pants were slightly looser and I even got a few compliments from my family. Good luck!

oneof2 - It's good to hear that you're having such a good day and that your mirror isn't rebelling against you (like mine is, lol).

kemccl - Welcome! Those are some great fitness goals!

Greetings to Everyone!

I too am Canadian, I'm in Ontario and am not looking forward to "bathing suit season".  :(

I'm hoping to lose 80 lbs by next May, hopefully I can lose 50 by November in time for a cruise I'm taking with my bf and friends.

I came online looking for a convenient way to keep track of my calories after a visit to Herbal One told me they cost thousands of dollars! I said forget that, I can count calories and take supplements myself without paying someone to make me feel bad if I cheat once in a while! I take a daily multi-vitamin, along with Siberian Ginseng and Green Tea twice a day which has really helped my energy level. I have also been taking Chromium once a day (which is one of their suggested required supplements) and so far it looks like it has been working, I've lost 13 lbs! I'm starting my exercise regimine today - 30 minutes on the treadmill. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the kids from bothering me while I'm on it? I keep trying to find the time but by the time the kids are in bed and everything is picked up it's 10pm and I'm exhausted!

Hey girls and maybe guys! I just wanted to make a nutritional comment on moolah's eating regime she posted on the first page.

Veggies and fruits ARE very good for you and you should be eating alot of them! But consider flip flopping from eating the "heavy" foods only during the day and only veggies and fruits at night. The reason being the protein is what your body needs - it gives you energy longer than the carbs and sugars (also carbs) and keeps you feeling fuller longer, meanwhile keeping your metabolism up! Also, if you are working out, doing cardio or weights, lots and lots of protein is needed to replenish your body and repair and build your muscles. Weights are mandatory if you want to gain long term weight loss because your muscles stay with you and burn calories even while you sit and sleep. Just cardio will take off the pounds now but as soon as you stop, there will be an increase in your fat almost immediately. So back to foods. Chicken and egg is not "heavy" food, it's protein!! It is fantastically great to consume it from the moment you wake up and until you go to bed, yes even before you go to bed because it will keep your engine burning fat throughout the night!! Think about taking it easy on the veggies and fruits as night time comes around because they are full of carbs and the sugars in fruits break down to carbs. If large amounts of carbs are taken in later in the day as your activity wains, this is what adds on the pounds because your body does not break this down, it just sticks on ya. Ok, I think that's it!!

Good luck!

started this site in February, but now i need some motivation!

Welcome to all our new folks!  I'm so glad more people are joining our thread.  The more the merrier!

I wanted to share a small success I've had.  Last night, I was hanging out with my recent ex - I'm still hoping we can patch things up eventually, but we're just friends for now.  I asked his opinion while in a tank top, since he's one of the only people who's seen me anywhere close to naked in the past year.  He said I was looking pretty good.  Later on while we were hanging out, he noticed my ankles (he's got a bit of a foot fetish) and said that he could really tell I've been losing weight.  He told me how proud he was of me and how happy he was for me.  Talk about a momentum builder!

evilmonkey2148, alle0299 and binah - Welcome to the group!

ladymarajade - Maybe you could exercise in the morning before your kids wake up. If not, there are other ways to exercise throughout the day.

clarinetfrances - Thanks for the info!

oneof2 - Congratulations on the compliment!

I keep telling people at work/church/home about my fitness goals and weight goals. It seems to make it more real and acknowledged not only by them, but by me as well.

Cool Good morning everyone!  Back for another day of help and motivation.  How is everyone doing so far this week?

Hey everyone! I'm just making sure we're all still on board.

Don't forget to post your weigh-ins for this week!

Don't give up! I know that 80lbs seems like A LOT of weight to lose, but I know we can all do this. Smile

    CW (Current Weight): 234lbs

No current weight entered, as I've only just started and haven't weighed in since my initial weigh in (which was a bit of a shocker!!!). Just 75lbs to go... Which I hope to have gone by my Birthday, which is in January.

New to this place... Not sure how things will turn out, but I feel genuinely motivated by the community here. I wish all of you the best of luck!!!

If anyone is interested in being messenger buddies on this let me know.  I will give you my messenger contact information ( I have aim and yahoo).  I need all the support I can get, I have failed so many times.

First of all, I'd like to say "hello" to all our new members. Thank you for joining!

babyboo-kate - I'm not as experienced as other Calorie Counters, but I think your goal weight is too low for your height. You're pretty tall! I mean, it's your body so it's ultimately your decision, but I believe that a more healthy goal weight would be around 130lbs. Anyhow, welcome to the group! We're all here to support each other. Smile

Anyway, does everyone want to vote on a weigh-in day? I vote for Thursday. Anyone else?

If no one wants to vote, we can all just weigh in whenever it is convenient.

Keep up the good work everyone!

    Thursday is fine with me
