Looking to be down 5 pounds (at least) by the end of June.
Any pointers on how to lose these last few pounds before the wedding? Would absolutely love some helpful hints.
So what are we going to do on here? Weigh-ins? Support obviously...What else? I've never been in a weight loss support group before.
that is what I keep asking. I have seen support groups before and they fall out rather quickly. I have asked some questions like..
1. what day do we all weigh in at?
2. is there a topic for the week? Like this week who did what to push themselves to the max? or anyone have a bad day?
I really don't want to sound negative, cause I think this is an awesome idea. I would love to support someone and give anyone my attention, but as for what I can see, no one seems to be giving any structure.
So should we make today the weigh in? July 4 is about 6-1/2 weeks away. I'm serious about these 9 pounds I have to loose!
amberwolg don't know if you drink, but gave it up for lent and lost some weight. that always seems to help me.

you're probably gaining muscle weight clydesmom. are you drinking enough water? is your cardio intense enough (ie making you sweat and get a little tired)?
I am probably not drinking enough water...well at least not my recommended 64 oz. I am most likely around 48. That is a good point, I will definitely up the amount.
It is a possibility that it is muscle weight but my fitness center at work has one of those scales that counts your water weight and muscle mass. I am not sure how accurate it is but it doesn't indicate that my muscle mass has increased.
My cardio is pretty intense...my thighs and calves burn when I am done! ![]()
I keep working at it and counting my cals! Hopefully it will begin to show soon because all the work without a small payoff is making it difficult to continue.
I'm in! I'm 40 years old, 5'8", weigh 172 and would like to weigh 165 by July 7. At that weight I'd be at a good BMI. I've never been in a weight loss support group before but would love to join this one.
I've been dieting and exercising for about 6 weeks and have lost 3 pounds. Ugh!
i am def in!!

(really 135 but I'm happy being fit and 140!) Fitness isn't my problem - it's the occasional cocktail which turns into a few more on the weekends which then loosens my will power and BAM! I'm eating! I have a great social life - is that a bad problem.. and it's only 10 lbs.. and I don't look bad........see why I cannot get the last 10 off?
im in too

Would love to! I'm getting very near my final goal weight and finding it dreadful!
Technically I only have 9 to lose, but oh well!
63.875 inches
119 pounds
Goal of 110
By the 4th would be a happy coincidence, because of the necessity of shorts and t-shirts XD. My arms are *waggles hand* meh, but my legs need a lot of work. I kind of took muscles for granted when I played soccer, but now it takes conscious effort.
Wow, I would be so happy if I could get to 119. I have been at 125, 124ish for ever. I'm 5-3 1/2 - 5'4" too. 110 is pretty skinny though, do you think it is too thin? When I'm 110 it is pretty thin. (but that is me) my goal is 115 by the 4th.
If it's any help, I'm a small frame. I take very much after my grandmother (father's side), I hope that includes my thyroid function as well, because most of the women recently on my mother's side (mum, grandmum, and great aunt) are hypo/hyperthyroid. Eep!
119 isn't awful by any stretch of the imagination, and neither is 125 (I started at 135, and I thought I'd 'never' get to 125, much less past it, but it happened!).
I'd be very happy to maintain anywhere between 110-115, since that gives a good range for fluctuation on a small frame ^^.
Of course, it is rather discouraging reading about 5'6"ers that are trying to get to 110 (from 120 or 115, usually)... seems like a common goal weight for many heights, it's so odd.

I haven't seen the thread creator post in a bit, but my two cents on the weigh-ins;
What about Friday mornings? It seems a lot of people relax a bit on the weekends (I don't notice a huge difference in my intake, but other people may actual have, gasp, social lives XD) which can cause an artificially high weigh-in that may not indicate real progress depending on sodium intake, what have you.

Hell I'd settle right now for 144lbs by this weekend ![]()
