Hungry-Girl Cookbook

Hey guys, I figured this forum would be the most likely for others to be able to respond, although maybe it would be more appropriate in the Foods forum, or Recipes or something.  Sorry.  ;)

Anyway, I'm really interested in the Hungry-Girl Cookbook, but I'd also like to see it -- physically pick it up, flip through it, make sure I love it, etc -- before buying it, so I don't want to just order it.  I've been to Borders and Barnse and Noble, now, and I can't seem to find it.  So, my question is for those of you who have found it in stores: where did you find it?  I'm standing there, staring at huuuuge bookcases in the "Cookbook" section, but then there are like twenty different sub-sections.  And alphabetical by author?  Or type?  Or what?  I've tried everything I could think of in both stores, but no luck.

So, where do you find your copy?  Thanks!!

I bought the book and went to one of the book signings.  My 5 yr old son has a crush on her LOL he wanted to stay with her at the signing after waiting over a hour in line and of course she told him how cute he was...what a ladies man.

I think the fiber one breading is FAB and my kids love it.  It does take a lot of spices to make it savory though.  This took me a while but what I did is blended up an entire box, added my spices did a taste test and kept adding spices by the tsp in till I got it just right.  now I take out what I need and leave the rest in the container.  make sure its well sealed so doesn't get stale.

The desserts rock too.  the book is missing one of my favs which is the shake shock .I make it so often I have the recipe memorized though.  I love having the book on hand so I don't have to run back between the kitchen and computer.  She's also planning on doing another book which Im excited for.

Her recipes use a ton of 'fake' stuff.. fat free cheese, fat free sour cream, soy 'meat,' fat free dressing, fat free mayo.  I can't tolerate the taste or texture of a lot of the products that are fat free that shouldn't be!  I mean, the basis for sour cream and most dairy IS fat, so how can you just take it out?!  But she does give great ideas for substitutions.  And LOW fat is a good choice.

I'm going to try the muffins though, since everyone's talking them up.

So I finally got my HG book on Monday and so far I have made 3 things out of it. Every single thing has been good! I agree its easier to take a cookbook to the kitchen rather than a laptop and I hate trying to keep track of recipes when they are just on sheets of paper. Anyways, I LOVE THIS BOOK!! Laughing

I bought it last friday at Walmart awesome, cant wait to try em allllllll!!

I love it!
