When wasa crackers taste like a treat.

When the actual taste of real butter is a long lost memory.

When your fantasies no longer include Johnny Depp but instead, Little Debbie!

and yours?

.....when you want something sweet, you grab some carrots & you swear that they are sweet. :D

Hahahahahahah i have SO started to appreciate the natural sweetness of carrots! It's crazy. Such a delicate sweetness...

*twitches and wanders off*

LOLOL, carrots for me too! I absolutely love em, Im like a bunny!!

And I know Ive been in this so long that I can choose an apple over ice cream.

#23 alyssandra May 13 2008 05:56

When you go out for dinner and order diet soda and have to have your hubby taste it because it's so sweet you think you accidentaly got regular....when you need a seperate plate for your veggies because the regular one just isn't big enough for all your broccoli!

#24 luna6517 May 13 2008 06:43
A 100 calorie dessert is a splurge. :-P
#25 bridgetbig May 13 2008 07:26

Thank God I'm not the only one!  Carrots are sweet!  I keep trying to convince my husband of this...

- when you take an extra 45 minutes at the grocery store b/c you have to read all the labels

#27 tina_4792 May 13 2008 14:30

When a Boca Burger on an english muffin sounds mouth-watering and a Chili's Old Timer sounds gross.  It's happening to me!   (LOL - great thread!)

Oooh, also, when a half-cup serving of "diet" ice cream is almost too much...

#28 babyboo-kate May 13 2008 15:55

....Chewing chocolate is over-rated

...You wish you took your bike to school/work

...You can sit ALL night long on CC, writing journal comments and post random journals of your own

...You prefer cold, cold water than cold, cold diet PEPSI (HAPPENED TO ME!!!)

...Read a book while you're on the stationary bike (OMG the laughter I got thru all this :])

When you can't accept anything but an "A" as your daily food analysis

*I 100% agree with the fast food, it turns my stomach most of the time now! I've been known to slip up at Taco Bell, but as for the others, I haven't eaten in months. Years for some places!

#30 deleseo May 13 2008 15:57

when you start advising friends & family that they should be eating more fibre, less fat, more protein.

when u get into an argument with your best friend that you cannot build muscle while in a calorie deficit

when u cruise the video store not for the new blockbuster, but for exercise dvds on the sale rack

when you eat a sandwich open face so you can 'save the calories' from the second slice of bread for later in the day

when you know know terms like EVOO & HFCS and toss them into everyday conversations

when you watch food tv and in your mind revamp every recipe to make it a lower calorie/more healthy meal

#31 stellajo May 13 2008 16:55

ha ha!  resisting the urge to get up after the meal to go log the calories - that is me ... I've had to train myself to recap the meal later so I don't appear rude to my family!!

but I guess it's not "dieting too long" but "getting the family to eat healthy" when your kids say that roasted red and yellow bell pepper is "too sweet", they prefer the green, because veggies should taste like veggies, not fruit! (hey works, for me, green is less expensive!!)  but yes, when roasted red bell pepper kabobs are like candy ... mmm ...

looking forward to water, because anything with sugar in it makes you even thirstier ...

and YES to deleseo, eating sandwiches on one slice of bread - I do that all the time!!

#32 chompforchange May 13 2008 17:25

Someone came into my restaurant and casually asked around their table how many calories were in something and I just blurted out my near exact estimate! I then got very creepy looks...

#33 pahpi May 13 2008 17:45

Sugar tastes weird

When my b/f's sister says "she (his mom) didnt cook anything healthy today"  - lol....

When you realize all you order to drink is water or tea now

Reading all the labels, not just for me anymore, but even to show others (family, b/f, friends, coworkers) how many calories are in things - juice was one example used recently

#34 shinybiscuit May 13 2008 18:15

When your friends offer to pay for pie so that you'll eat it. I DIDN'T WANT ANY!! haha Stupid friends.

#35 chub2lose May 13 2008 21:19

These are all very "me," lol.

When you mentally add your calories while eating dinner and have to keep yourself from leaving the table to log them into the computer...

When you start advising friends & family that they should be eating more fibre, less fat, more protein...

When you can't accept anything but an "A" as your daily food analysis...

When you take an extra 45 minutes at the grocery store b/c you have to read all the labels...

When you consider drinking 3 litres of water per day normal...

#36 kjmadill May 13 2008 21:35

-when you log and plan out your whole day of eating on CC, and play with the quantities so you have the right number of calories. 1/3 cup of milk with dinner?  1.7 ounces of cheese on those egg whites?  10 more minutes on the treadmill so you can have a tablespoon of barbeque sauce with your stif fry? Oh ya!

-when you have loudly become overjoyed when you realize certain things are low calorie so you can have more of them (green peppers, red peppers, cantaloupe...)

-You have invented your own versions of things to make them low calorie, and the highlight of your day is the "hungry girl" emails that give you tips on your quest.

#37 scaroppo May 14 2008 16:24

Ok, this is gross but happend to me this afternoon and I knew I HAD to add it to the thread at the risk of sounding mentally disturbed.

- when you accidently swallow an unknown insect while biking and your first thought is not "oh gross" but "calories and protein equivalents"

#38 im_a_cc May 14 2008 17:02

When you take the stairs just to burn those extra 10 calories

Omg...I had to laugh at this one too because I did that a few weeks ago!!!  LMAO!!!!

On that note:

-When you just know you're short on protein or fat or carbs for the day w/o looking at your nutritional grade.

-When you know exactly what you need to eat to raise your nutritional grade without affecting your sodium, or cholestorol, or what-have-you.

-When you actually get cranky because you haven't had a chance to exercise.
