| Apr 24 2008 22:04 | ||
Lauren in San Diego here (5'11''). I was up to almost 180 lbs at the end of last year and I lost about 10 pounds during Jan-Feb and then got lazy. I need to get back on the wagon. I think I weigh around 170 and I would like to be 150. Weigh in on Fridays for me starting tomorrow. I would love to chat with others who have similar stats and goals to stay motivated. All my girlfriends are little petites, I need some amazon love!! Let's look hot and healthy this summer!!! |

Original Post by laallisonra: My feet go numb as well. On the eliptical and on my gazelle. I don't know why it happens, but I've found that wiggling my toes, or running on my toes and then switching to my heels works pretty well. Basically make sure your feet are moving around some and you should feel some relief! |

Good morning, everyone! I just wanted to share my feelings today about body insecurity. I live in San Diego and it's gorgeous, like summer today. All my friends are going to the beach for our friend Jeff's b-day. Of course they want me to come and I would love to but... you all know the drill - I really really don't want to get in a bikini. I would never tell my friends this, of course (including my size 0 best friend), I'll use some excuse about having to do homework (yes I'm a 28-year-old college student). I know that some of you are not lacking in confidence and think I'm being silly, but I've been 140 before playing frisbee on the beach and I remember what it feels like to move and not have any fat jiggling around! I just want that back. I just want us all to visualize how AMAZING we will feel when we reach our goals. Maybe I'll go, who knows? Keep ya' posted... |

Hi tall girls, I'd like to join. I'm 5' 10" and currently almost to my original goal of 155. (currently 158). I started out last year around 190. Before that, I've been even higher and have broken the 200 part occasionally. I've been maintaining the high 150's since December, but am ready to kick it up and finally make it to my goal. I think my ideal weight may be more around the low 150's, but it's so hard to get past the last few pounds. Hope everyone is doing well and I'd love to weigh in with you guys on Fridays! |

Hola Lauren and the rest of our Tribe. My real name is Julia. I think it would be fabulous if we set up more threads for tall girls (inspired by this thread). I'm going to start by posting a thread about BMR and minimum caloric intake for weight loss for tall girls. Sound good? I'll edit this later and add the forum link.

Hi Ladies! I would like to keep up with this post! Sounds like a great group of motivated ladies who have realistic expectations and understand the struggles tall ladies deal with! I am 6 ft, 29y/o, starting at 164lbs, Sm/med frame. First GW is 150 - Stretch GW is 145. Aside from simply getting healthier with my eating habits and growing in strength/endurance for myself... I am VERY motivated to hit my goals this summer as we have a few weddings to attend and some river/beach trips planned. My husband and I and another couple are actually going to Hawaii in August!!!!!! BIG MOTIVATOR!!!! Gotta be HOT in Hawaii!!!! So...I have been hitting the gym again (after a brief break) and I actually just re-adjusted my eating habits and menu this weekend. Going to try and zig-zag my calories a little and mix-up my workouts. Hope to get to know you all and learn a few tips and help motivate! Have a great week and will let you know on Friday if I had any luck! Cari |

Edit: Posted some pics that I had around... |

WELCOME KATYAYER, love the race picture! WELCOME CARI, Hawaii is a great motivation - something to look forward to. Julia, good idea for the BMR and calorie link, thank you. We should all try to get some pic's in our galleries, me included. Having a very busy week already, I'll check in tomorrow. Remember: weigh in on Friday - stay motivated! Lauren |

| Hi, ladies! Room for another? I'm 5'10', ~165 (haven't weighed in a couple weeks). I'm having a really hard time losing the last 10-15 pounds before my August 3rd wedding. Any ideas? | ||

5-11 here. heaviest was 189, well documented, March 07. 184 as of 1/3/08. Got to 158, but this weekend jumped up to 161 after not gaining at all for weeks, just losing. Kinda disappointed there. Have been under tremendous stress and really couldn't get to the gym or eat for a bit. Started back to the gym after three weeks just last week. Eating a little bit more, but not very good. gotta work on that. Can use all the support of the tall girls out here. My goal, similar to everyone else's...about 150 or 145. My lowest weight was like 134, and I was scary looking now that I look back at those pictures. |

kkmc - I'm going to speak for everyone and say that there is always room for one more tall chick! Welcome!
sheebz - So in just about 4 months, you lose 26 lbs!? That's fantastic. I too suffer from a lack of motivation sometimes, but we can definately find some support here. I can't imagine being 134, though. For me that would be nuts. I think your goal of 150 or 145 is healthy goal--it's the same as mine. However, I always reserve the right to reevaluate. :) Keep up the good work and you will get there. |

Ok, I'm going to be travelling all day tomorrow, so I weighed in today. SW: 162 CW: 161.5 GW: 145 So, I'm down 1/2 lb. I had hoped for more, but... What can you do? I'm just going to keep up the efforts of eating right and moving more and hope I'm rewarded for it on the scale. |

Hi, Tall Gals! I'd love to join your tribe. I'm 5'10" and started 12/31/07 at 197.2 lbs (my highest weight was 206 few years back). Current wieight is 175 and I think I've taken it as far as I can without regular exercise. GW is 155, which I haven't seen in over 10 yrs. My BMI is very high [shudder], so even though I look much better than I did, I desperately need to get moving, so exercise is in my future! I need motivation, so hopefully this group will help! I leave for a 2 wk trip to Italy in less than 2 months so I really have to kick it up a notch. I'm visualizing myself in that bikini now.... |

Hello all!!!! HOORAY FOR TALL WOMEN!!! I'm about to be 25 years old, I'm 5' 10.5" and 179 pounds down from 230 pounds. My next milestone is 173 pounds, because that's when my BMI will be in the NORMAL range! My goal is 160, but I'll probably go on to lose an additional 5 pounds after that. I love this thread and I enjoy seeing pictures of girls at my height who have reached my goal weight already! It allows me to visualize what I'll look like at that weight!!! I've got about 19 pounds to go until 160, and I can't believe my goal is so close after being overweight almost my entire life! For those of you getting close to your goal, you should also check out this thread: http://caloriecount.about.com/forums/post/95564.html I look forward to getting to know you ladies! Lauren

I'd like to join the 'tall club' thread. I am 5'10", 35 yrs old and approx. 195 lbs. I hate the fact that I've let myself get to this point; I used to weigh 142. I would love to get back down to 150, but at this point even 170 is looking good! :) I am active, doing Tae Kwon Do, hiking, biking, etc. but yet the weight remains. I want/need to lose weight to help out my arthritic knees and to help dodge the diabetes bullet that runs in both sides of my family, and of course, to look better and to not cringe in disgust everytime I see a picture of myself at this weight. I started logging on this site about 2 weeks ago and hopefully it will help me stay on track calorie-wise. I did lose 5+ pounds in the past month or so, I just have to keep reminding myself that I didn't gain 45 pounds overnight, or even in a month. It will come off just as slowly and steadily as it came on. Thanks for starting the thread! |

Hello ladies! Another friday. Here's my stats SW 170 ish (I had a bad scale) CW 168.2 GW 145 23 pounds to go! I'm pretty happy at my weight loss, however, it had to have been water weight or something because I binged last night and woke up a pound lighter? Weird. Although my "binge" Only took me up to 1800 calories. This is getting really hard and confusing.. I don't know if I'm eating enough, or too much, and honestly after only a month I am extremely sick of counting all my calories. Luckily my true goal was to be a healthier person, so if all else fails, I'll still have acheived that! |

Friday Weigh-in (late posting...busy, busy) cw: STILL 168 (height 5-11) But I've been eating at a deficit and working out, so I'm expecting some of that plateau is caused by fat loss + muscle gain. Yeah. I'm sticking to that story. |
