Biggest Loser CHallenge PART 7 SIGN UPS:
http://caloriecount.about.com/forums/post/104 479.html
============================================= =======
Hi - I do stretching and toning at home. Don't have much room to do workout vid's (actually none) we do have an ab king which I use every other day. I take PT 2x week. 40 min work out - weights, stretches etc. This will go for another 10 weeks then I get to do it on my own. Hopefully by then hubby will have the universal gym thingy fixed.
Once it gets warm enough, I'll get out the bike or take the Mu for walkies - Our permanent Tee times start in April so I'll be walking 9 holes every Sunday. No cart for me this year!
Go Team 3!!!! Good luck everyone!
Original Post by cristin:
Good morning everyone!! I got back into the gym routine this week and I am really proud of myself. It has been a big struggle for me. I am doing the stairmaster and the eliptical machine. I try to do at least 45 minutes of cardio but man, my gym is so crowded after work it's hard to get on a machine. Once I feel good about the cardio I am going to incorporated strength training.
Things really have to change for me this time. I feel so unhealthy and I already feel better just working out these last three days.
What are your thoughts on the South Beach diet? My best friend is doing it and it is making me think!
Have a great day team 3!!!
i have never done the south beach diet... i did the akins..... how different is it to the akins? i heard they was pretty close.....
HEY TEAM THREE!!
WE SHOULD ALL BECOME AFFILIATED WITH ONE ANOTHER SO I THINK STATS WOULD BE A GREAT FIRST--THEN MAYBE WE CAN HAVE DAILY OR BIWEEKLY "MEETINGS" TO DISCUSS PERSONAL CHALLENGES AS WELL AS GROUP CHALLENGES. WITH THAT BEING SAID I'LL START WITH MY STATS:: WE SHOULD MAYBE THINK OF ALTERNATE WAYS OF REMINDERS AND MOTIVATION SUCH AS TEXTING(IF U WANNA GIVE OUT YOUR NUMBER) INSTANT MESSENGERS-- EMAIL..AND OF COURSE HERE ON CC. IN ORDER FOR THIS TO HAPPEN AS A TEAM EFFORT WE HAVE TO COME TOGETHER AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE CONSIDERING WE ARE ONLY CONNNECTD VIA INTERNET. THANKS BTW MY NAME IS MITZI, INCASE ANYONE WANTED TO KNOW..LOL :) IM A LIL COMPETITVE..SO THIS CHALLENGE WAS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED! READY TO WIN U GUYS?

Hey Team 3,
I am your newest member! I got added today for one of the folks that did not reply with their weigh in I guess. A little about me I have lost almost 80 lbs since starting. I think this challenge will help me lose the last 20 lbs to reach my goal of 100 lbs lost. Let's get crackin'.
How about Team Gettin' Slim.
Just so everyone knows I thrive on mutual encouragement. I think we can all draw on each others strengths and support each other when we have a barrier. Helpin' each other will help us be the BIGGEST LOSERS!!!!
Ready to lose the last 20 and more!
Papa
P.S. Midnight_Mocha I am originally from Springdale, AR so it is nice to have a fellow Arkansan on the team.
welcome papa(fellow arkansan) glad to have ya.
Welcome papa - nice to have you with us!
About me - I'm 5'7" and 182 lbs. I weighed 190 lbs when I joined CC last November. I lost steadily up to the beginning of February, down to 178 lbs (I had my own personal challenge - a holiday in the Caribbean!). Had a wonderful time, but re-gained about 6lbs over the 3 weeks I was away - Eeeky! I am the sort of person that thrives on challenges and I think this one is exactly what I need to help me get to my ultimate goal of around 140- 150 lbs (depending on how I feel when I get there!). I have made a real effort to walk 5 miles a day since starting this challenge (the dog is delighted), and I am feeling very positive. Belly dancing next...!
I think we have a great team, and I will do my utmost not to let myself or you guys down!
Good luck everyone!
Hello! It is so nice to meet everyone. I think we're a great team!
My name is Misty, I'm from Ohio, I'm 5'6" and 239.6 as of today. I joined a Biggest Loser contest at work in January of this year. We each put in $20 and the winner (most percentage) takes the pot when the contest ends in June. With the help of CC, which I joined in February, I've lost 36.8 pounds, which is 13% of my starting weight. I have around 100 pounds to go, I'm not exactly sure what my final goal will be because I haven't seen those numbers since Jr. High School. ![]()
Let's go Team Three!!!

What?????? 163.4 this AM
I live in Indiana --Bloomington......work in Indy (weekends)
5' 3" 42 years old .. I have a son (14) I love to travel, love the ocean...the beach and looking forward to being able to wear a bikini again!
I started CC March 13 at 177 (saw 180 at somepoint the week before)....Now 163.4 but likely dehydrated, Next goal 155 by May 4 (son's birthday)
we still have people without an initial weigh in!! please send or resnd the information through a post or private message. the challenges host asked me NOT to edit my original post..its easier to find with new threads..so lets get those weights in please..we only have a few days before we weigh again.
Here's a bit about me:
I'm 24 years old, mommy of two (the newest is 5 months old.) I'm trying to lose the baby weight from both children now that my family is done. I'm 5'4 with a start weight of 210. As of April 1st I'm now at 189. Looking to go down to 135 by this August.
The exercise I'm using to burn is mainly pilates, stair and crunches with a bit of belly dancing thrown in there occasionally. Now that the weather is nice I've made it my goal to walk and get the mail everyday which is about a 20 minute walk one way. I also bought Jillian Micheal's new dvd the 30 day shred which should be here soon and I'll give that a try.
My reasons for wanting to lose weight are to be healthier, set a good example for my daughter and improve my self esteem.
So far I've noticed that I breath easier and I'm more co-ordinated now because of the pilates. I used to be really clumsy but I'm not anymore.
I'm hoping this competition (since I'm really competitive) will give me the drive I need to keep going strong. I think we have the most supportive team and I think we can win this!
i have my walkin shoes on and ready to go!! lets go team three!! good luck ev1!! &&& dont forget--water water and more water!!
c'mon team three!! i hope everyone has done well calorie and activity wise this week..weigh in day is creeping its way around the corner! i wanted wish everyone good luck and say no matter what the scales say tuesday we are a team and will continue to be a team..just do your best for you and be proud at the changes your experiencing..byee you guys..GO TEAM THREE!
hey team 3!!!
how is everyone doing?? me ok..... so far so good!!
. when do we weigh in again? tue?
GOOD LUCK TEAM 3!!!
I THINK I CAN .... I THINK I CAN..... I CAN DO THIS!!!!
Good morning Team 3!!!
Hope everyone had a good weekend. The weather was against walking outside the last couple of days - so I had to walk inside - not the same, but necessary!
Does anyone know how we are supposed to weigh in tomorrow - do we edit our FIRST post on the original thread, or make a NEW post on the original thread? Perhaps I should message Jeremy!
Anyway, have a good active day everyone, I shall be thinking of you- and good luck tomorrow!
GO TEAM 3!!!
Good morning everyone!! You guys are great! Just reading your messages totally motivates me!
Here is a bit about me: I am 30 years old 5' 4" and my starting weight was 204.6. My boyfriend and I are doing the south beach diet with another couple. I am hoping this helps me with the food aspect of things. I definetly makes me look at food more closely and value what I am putting in my mouth. It is crazy to think of how I ate just a week ago compared to how I eat now. I have lost a couple pounds which gives me some motivation that I really don't want to eat those Cadbury creme eggs!! Haha! As for exercise I am trying hard to get to the gym atleast 5 times this week. I am drinking at least 5 liters of water a day which is also helpful. I am always in the bathroom but I am thinking I am flushing away the fat cells! Plus, water is pretty much the only thing I can drink other than decaf coffee or decaf tea which is not at all appealing to me.
I think a daily check in is a great idea! I didn't sleep very well last night so I totally didn't want to wake up. When I did wake up I was naseous. I think my body is getting used to me not eating so much junk and is kinda freaking out. Other than that I am feeling good about everything.
How are you guys doing???? I hope you all have a great day! Talk to you soon!
we weigh in tomorrow!! time for those last minute workouts and perfect cal intake. i have had an okay week...i have been walking everyday but one. so i hope i can contribute to our weight loss goal tmrw. i have tried hard and my diet has been okay..been trying different things..but so far so good..im sooooooo curios as to what the scale says tmrw...i keep thinking about big numbers but i have to remind myself that this site is dedicated and designed to lose 2lbs a week, 8lbs a month.so i will be happy with that...sry didnt mean to make this into a journal entry..lol.
as for the weigh ins....he said post a new post every weigh in..easier for him to find.
good luck ev1 & no matter what be proud of yourselves. if this weeks loss is low just know each week will be different for each person..so who knows next week what our precious friend(mr.scale) will say..byee yall
Hey Ya'll, Had a good weekend overall, didn't get to do as much excercise as I wanted. (Tweeked a quad Thur at my stength class) Still sore but won't let that stop me! Don't drink to much water! Some vitamins your body needs are water soluable remember that! The day of my 29th Birthday I passed a kidney stone (ladies I now know how you feel during natural childbirth, and I can sympathize with you) I was told to drink water, and more water. I now drink about 3 liters a day, down from 5 a day. When I told my doctor that I was drinking that much water he got onto me and ordered an immediate blood test to see if everything was ok. It might be my doctor, but it is something to investigate further. In the 5 years since my doc told me to not drink that much water I have not found anything that supports/does not support his claims so if someone does find anything let me know.
Cristin,
One thing you should watch out for on the South Beach Diet is your cholesterol level. Cutting the carbs and adding protein, I know the book says that it will not add a whole lot, but if your cholesterol levels are high to begin with it could make them sky rocket. Don't want to see anyone get hurt when they are trying to help themselves.
We can do this everyone, I do not feel the greatest today, but I am going to draw my stength from you all, MY TEAMMATES!
Papa
Hi team!
Pumped for tomorrow?? I am. Remember, no matter what, as long as you are posting a loss, it doesn't matter how small it is, you are rocking the house!
Slow and steady wins the race!
Keep moving, keep drinking water!!! Last chance workouts today guys! Give 'er everything you got!!!!
PRIDE ON THREE!!!!!
I did quite a last chance work out today. I switched it up to celebrate the nice weather. I walked for 2 hours pushing a double stroller with the kids in it and half of that the stroller was full of groceries as well. I could feel the afterburn in my arms and legs and buns for a while after I stopped. I'll do my couch potato exercises while watching a marathon of chef Ramsey's Hell's Kitchen (we just downloaded it and we're in the middle of season one.) For some reason cooking shows always make me feel guilty for salivating so I exercise the whole time I'm watching. I have a good feeling about tomorrow!
