Back dimples (or otherwise known as "Dimples of Venus") and weight loss.

No, I'm not talking about cellulite. Does anyone notice their back dimples to get more prominent as you get thinner? Either I was completely unaware of back dimples when I was heavier, therefore I didn't notice them.. or they appear more when you're thinner. Anyone else have back dimples?

My boyfriend and all my guy friends agree that back dimples are the sexiest things ever! (Well, at least high up there on the list)

Mine started to show more when I began to lose weight and started pilates, which has really strengthened all my core muscles and really toned up my back. Maybe they are partly a genetic factor and partly a back muscle thing?

I have them, and have actually injured them from over-exercising.. lol. I get pains in my lower back, especially in the back dimples, and I was told by a doctor that it has something to do with the fact that I have untreated scoliosis and a sway back and a spondylo-something, so I've injured that part of my back by exercising too much.

Ahahahaa.

I never really had them when I was a little heavier, I have them now and I love them! I think they have to do more with muscle than with fat loss?? Not sure, but I'm proud of mine and every so often I have to check to make sure they are still there. :)

back dimples are so cute!

i wish i had them :[  is there anyway to get them? or is it one of those things you born with?

i have had them since i was little and i remember my dad saying something about it, asking my mom if it was because i was too fat.  I was 100 lbs.  He was a turd.
awe im so jealous :( i've always wanted those and no matter what weight i have been (75lbs to 160lbs and everywhere in between) i have never had them. i thnik theyre adorable.

i have those things and i'm pretty small. i don't think i had them when i was larger.

i have them but they are really weird. i think they are abnormal or something

after i lost about twenty five pounds, i was confident enough to get in a two piece, and my friends noticed i had them. they aren't very prominent, but probably because i have a little fat there. i've heard that back dimples are a caucasian thing? i'm only part, but at least i got the dimples out of it haha.

i first noticed them when i was little...i was afraid that someone had pinched away my skin there and started to cry :p

i think you can accentuate them by strengthening your lower back muscles, cause they are created by a ligament pulling the skin back to the spine (similar to facial dimples - the smile muscles pull back the cheek skin instead of the edge of lips). soooo if you strengthen the muscles around that spot they might become more prominent.

I only noticed them once I started biking and running more, then they became more prominent, regardless of my weight.

It must have something to do with muscle tone.

seroiously, i am just happy to know i'm not a mutant. haha. nobody else I know has those! And they're always pointed out by people that think it's just so strange! haha

I never even knew they existed, but I just looked in the mirror and I have them!  Not very prominent, as in you probably wouldn't notice them if you weren't looking, but maybe once I lose 10 more pounds they'll stand out a little more, especially since I tend to carry weight around my hips :).

Do most people have them?

I never noticed them before like 5 years ago when some guy pointed them out... then ive had about 3 more guys since point them out...

there seems to be a lot of back dimple fetishes going around and apparently ive got nice ones

Aww I love my back dimples! I've had them as long as I can remember, and all the women in my family have them. My mom always told me that when I got older I'd see why they are so awesome... and now I know why. Guys LOVE them! Really, all of my guy friends or boy friends have thought they are adorable and sexy. Haha, I think it's pretty cool =)

But I think mine stayed the same size even though I lost weight... hmm.

When I was in highschool everyone called them "sex dimples" I thought that was their real name...lol

Mine dissappeared as a lost weight

i want then baaaaaaaaaaaack Cry

aww, I don't have them :( And neither do my parents

*has back dimples*

I always thought I was mutated. Then, I noticed my sister and a couple of my friends had them and I was like "okay I'm fine".

They're not overly noticable, but probably will be after a few pounds.
