gaining .4 lbs a day.....HELP!!! EDITED:July 20th

I can't seem to stop yo-yoing between 177 and 179. So I decided since I can't keep my behind off the scale that I'd write down my weight everyday and average it after the week. I see alot of people on here do that. so on sunday I started writing it down and this is what I've noticed:

sun - 177.6      &nbs p;       & nbsp;      &nbs p;       & nbsp;      &nbs p;   Thurs: 179.4   +.4  AGAIN!!!!

Mon - 178.2  +.4               &nb sp;      EDIT:& nbsp;  Friday: 179.6   +.2

Tues - 178.6  +.4               &nb sp;               &nb sp;  Saturday: 179.6  (Avg for the week:178.8)

Wed - 179.0  +.4               &nb sp;               &nb sp;   Sunday:  179.8  +.2

Now what the heck is going on????  why the increase of .4/day????  Any suggestions? 

I go to the gym and workout and I have a burn of around 300-350 3x/week. I eat around 1300-1350 cals/day. I'm 43, 5'6" and medium framed (by the wrist test). The burn meter says I burn 1800. I should be losing, right??? Yell

EDIT: Stopped the .4 increases, but now they are .2! I'm still gaining!!! GRRRR This is 7 days of GAINING!

Mortalmonkey - you are cracking me up! lol 

Today I gained again....but only .2 today! So I'm happy not to see the 180 on the scale. Maybe this is calming down now. We'll see what tomorrow brings!

I am so stressed right now. Things happening at home that are crazy! :(

I try to think about how far I've come and I'm in no way, shape or form going to quit!

I'm trying to get to 171 to get from moderately overweight to slightly overweight. I REALLY want to see it!!!

Ok, my weight is still going UP. No ups and downs, just UP! Still hanging in there though...... Waiting for a drop in the numbers.

Hey momof2funnykds I really think it has something to do with your work outs and toning and building muscle. 

Are you noticing any difference in the shape of your body, do you feel slimmer, toner?  What was your work-out routine before you started going to the gym, was it as intense as it is now?

I have all the faith in the world that it is nothing you are doing to gain, I think maybe your body is just toning up and building muscle.

Perhaps you're not eating enough?! I'm 5'4" and went from 175 to 140 eating 1350 cal on days of NO exercise and 1500 cals when I exercised.  Oh and I'm 50 so my metabolism is probably a little slower than yours. 

Also, when I tried to lose on 12/1300 cals with daily workouts my weight would always stall then climb up a bit after losing about 10 lbs.

Wait til you hear this!  I lost 1.6 lbs over night! So almost all of the 2 lbs I gained is gone! lol  And I ate alot yesterday (like 2000 cals)! Maybe I needed to shock my metabolism some. Who knows? This whole weight loss thing is confusing, but I guess I'll make it. Smile

lol, in other words, everything I've been telling you for days was correct. lol

There's nothing confusing about it either.

The body moves up and down in weight by several pounds naturally. Last week I gained 6 pounds, that's right 6! This week I dropped all 6 pounds of water and at least 3 pounds of fat too; that's 9 pounds lost. I'm sure that after this coming weekend I'll probably be back up 4 or 5 pounds in water.

You were obsessing over .4 lb gain increments; that's insane lady!

Don't panic when your weight starts going back up again, 'cause it will happen! Just remember, it'll go away and it'll go away fast plus, like me, you'll lose fat too.

Just was having a panic attack and voiced it. Afterall, that's why I'm here. To get guidance through this whole thing and when I panic, to hear encouraging words and get support.

I know, it's cool.
