| 320 Sticks of Butter | ||
| Jul 11 2008 18:14 | ||
If I was to spread a nice even layer of 320 sticks of butter all over my body, me plus butter weight would equal what I weighed in January. Mmmmm . . . butter. I would like to wring out another around 70 sticks of butter before I go to a maintenance eating plan. Maybe instead I should try to get this monkey off my back (average weight of a adult male rhesus monkey is about 7.7 kilos). Do you have any imagery like that that you think about your in terms of your own weight loss? Please share. |

I'm up to 52 sticks!!
These past few weeks have been great for me--my metabolism has finally figured out that all the exercise and eating right is for real, or something. |

I've lost 80 sticks of butter! That's 20 lbs. I put 20 lbs of hand weights in a bag and handed them to my husband the other day without saying a word. He said, "Oh my, what in the world do you have in here?" I responded "The amount of weight I have lost!" He said, "You're kidding me! This is HEAVY!" "I know! Isn't it great?" ~ Beth (34 lbs more to go) |

Since March, I've lost the same amount of weight that my female cat weighs (11.4lbs). Since 2005, I've lost more weight than my 20-month old nephew weighs (I've lost just over 30lbs). |

Our WW meeting uses children. Some weeks we collectively loose a toddler but we've gotten the average elementary school kid a few times. |

This is a great thead! When I started counting calories I thought of myself as carrying two 10 pound bags of potatos everywhere, one under each arm. I have lost one 10 pound bag and am hoping to put this last one down soon. It doesn't seem like much, but wow.... ~kat |

My husband actually gave me a visual though at the time I had not started to diet and it not only made me mad and hurt my feelings but later when I thought about it, emotions aside, I realized that now I had a really great concept of what it would feel like to lose weight. He said that at my present weight I am carrying around 2-20 pounds of dogfood all the time. They are sleeping on my chest at night, they are with me every single step I take and he wondered if I would like to put them down and quit carrying them all the time. When I actually thought about that, which happened the next time I went to the grocery store and bought dogfood, I tried an experiment. I carried that 20-lb bag of dogfood all through the store and then hiked with it out to the car. I was exhausted when I got there and could put it down...and suddenly the light over my head finally went on !!! DUHHHHH...if that made me tired and out of breath and felt that good to set it aside how GREAT would I feel to finally put down the equivalant of 2 big bags. So when I am excerising and struggling to complete my workout, or trying to find the motivation to get healthy I think of DOGFOOD :) |

I have lost 360 sticks of butter. Doing anything is much easier now. I can literally run up 10 flights of stairs and not be out of breath. Several years ago I had to walk up to the 9th floor because the elevators didn't work and I had to stop at the 6th to catch my breath because I was wheezing so bad. I don't miss the extra weight. Thanks for the analogy. It will help when I start thinking about eating more than I should.
