I have seen lots of 'What did you eat today', 'what did you have for lunch today', ect....but I have never seen a breakfast one. I think this is a great way to try new foods and get other ideas.
For starters, this is what I had:
- Oatmeal with half a banana, Cinnamon, and half a teaspoon of vanilla extract;
- Half a kiwi;
- Raspberries;
- Raisins;
- Strawberries;
- Unsalted cashews;
- and raw almonds.
What did YOU have today?
we went BLUEbERRY PICKING at 8 a.m.
I Had like,...........3 CUPS of blueberries! HA HA :)
seriously---it was like..1 for me-----one for the bucket...one for me...one for the bucket :) :)
MMMMMmmmmmmmm
i had a sachet of quakers porridge with semi skimmed milk with a few blueberries and strawberries sliced on top and half a tbsp of honey.. i love breakfast and seriously recommend this as it keeps me full for a good few hours and was a perfect energy fuel for my recent hiking trip!
I don't enjoy having breakfast but I get headache-y and irritable if I don't eat something within an hour or so of waking, so as a compromise I make a banana-soymilk-ice shake nearly every morning. It keeps me happy for 1-2 hours until my mid-morning snack and then lunch.
a cup of special k red berries cereal with milk/water (half cup reduced fat milk and half cup water mixed)
totaled out to about 175 calories.
1/4 cup granola
1/4 cup milk
baby carrots
Oikos fat free yogurt, 1/2 cup of Product 19 and 1/2 cup of blackberries.
MMM I wish I didnt run out of yogurt and could have it again tomorrow, Tomorrow is 1 cup Product 19, light soy milk and some freeze dried strawberries.
one cup of plain cheerios, 1/2 cup skim milk and 1/2 of a banana. :)
Clarice
Weeeeeell, since it's technically the 8th now (12:38am), yesterday I had..
Oatmeal, with:
- 2 tbsp. apple butter
- 1 tbsp. flaxseed
- a teaspoon cinnamon
- skim milk
- and a bit of brown sugar.
As well as:
- a can of Ensure PLUS calories, blended with frozen banana chunks (1 whole banana) to make an awesome frothy smoothietimebeverage... ahahaha.
:)
AND IN ABOUT 9 HOURS, I plan on making myself...
Oatmeal, with:
- a bit of grated chocolate ;)
- tbsp. flaxseed
- teaspoon cinnamon
- a few strawberries
- skim milk & skim milk powder for added protein
As well as another crazy Ensure-Banana smoothie!
Mmmm... <3
My boyfriend made me 1 cup of Nature's Path granola and 1/2 cup of 2% milk and a medium banana (that's about as complicated as his breakfast repertoire gets lol).
Usually I like to have 1 large whole egg, 1/2 cup oatmeal with 1/4 cup blueberries and 1/2 cup nonfat milk
or an omelette (2 large whole eggs, 2 tbs nonfat milk, 1 tbs parmigiano) with 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms and onion
or a whole grain tortilla (100 calories) with one scrambled egg, baby spinach, 2 tbs salsa and plain nonfat yogurt.
I see some people are avoiding egg yolks! For only fifty-something calories, each egg yolk is packed with nutrients :) 'tis a shame to leave them out of your diet.

Half a cup of old-fashioned oats, cup of water, a small handful of raisins and a dash of cinnamon. Pop it in the microwave and have a hot, satisfying, whole food, frugal breakfast in 2 minutes. I've been eating this nearly every day for more than 4 years--it's my touchstone for healthy eating.
Coffee too :-)
this morning i had:
- 1/4 cup egg whites (with mrs. dash on top - 0 cal).
- 1 cup of raspberries.
- 1 stoneyfield farms banana yogurt (the kids kind).
- a light hot chocolate.
very filling for only 250 calories.
i could have done better; but i wasn't in the mood to really make anything today.
i had a cup of honey roasted oats with dried fruit (cranberries, apricots, mango), a cup of coffee, and a cup of water. breakfast is a funny affair cause half the time, i'm "eating" out of three cups. a drink (coffee/soy milk/tea), a glass of water, and a cup of something more staple (cereal/oatmeal/flaxseed and banana chai latte/yogurt with fruits/cottage cheese with fruits etc.)
1/2 cup of fibrette, 1 cup skim milk, and an apple =] and a hickorynut.
That fiber really keeps me full the entire day haha
Bowl of oatmeal with a handful or so each of blueberries and blackberries, and about a half dozen walnut halves broken up. A glass of soy milk. About an 1/8 of a cantaloupe. Green tea with mint.
MMMM, breakfast. At 5am I had my preworkout shake. At about 6:30 I had my real breakfast: a slice of oatmeal protein pie, a bananna, and a cup of skim milk.
Branflakes with skimmed milk, cup of black coffee
2 laughing cow extra light cheese wedges on 2 lightly salted rice cakes, with sliced tomato on top, popped under grill for a few minutes. Yum Yum and only 125 calories the lot.
Steel cut oats with vanilla protein powder, cinnamon, splenda, and nutmeg.
Then some fiber one cereal mixed with frozen blueberries, cut up frozen mangos, weetabix, soy milk, and toped off with splenda and some vanilla protein powder. <3
