Help! I just ate Olestra. Do I need to buy some Depends now?

Oh no, this is terrible!  I just realized that these fat free, low cal chips I ate have Olestra in them.  I would have NEVER bought them if I knew that.  I heard Olestra makes you have *ahem* anal leakage  Surprised and I am scared! Is it that bad?  What do I do?

BECAUSE I bought the light ones I ate the whole package! If I had done that with regular ones, it would've completely screwed me over calorie-wise. It was also pretty much the only thing I ate that day. I was having a chip craving. No offense taken :) But this (warning: some strong language and very many TMI's) should give you an idea of what COULD happen if your body decides it doesn't like them. Also, not only eating big quantities could cause it. I've heard of people having it happen with only one or two chips.

Yeah, I almost died laughing when I read this on Craiglist.

Hmmm... anything that causes your body to react that way strikes me as NOT healthy at all, no matter how few calories it may have.

LMAO, that article is hilarious!

I had this same thing happen to me. Didn't even think to make a connection to the chips, but now it all makes sense; gross. Should have known it was too good to be true... LESS than 500 calories for an ENTIRE bag of chips with NO fat and it tastes (to me at least) EXACTLY the same as its "normal" counterpart!?!

Probably just as well. Chips have always been my "cheating food" but I can do without all the sodium and carbs anyway. :-P

they allow this stuff in our foods, but i can't buy valium over the counter???
