| Whaaaaaatttt!? | ||

I've been watching what I eat for almost two weeks. I'm usually sedentary (but add in extra stuff like on the rare occasion that I walk for half and hour), so I eat 1200 like recommended. I admit, sometimes I lose track and eat around 1400. I don't have a scale so I've been using the one at Publix and it's pretty accurate because its been steady every time I've checked (once every few days, 145lbs) and the only change I've seen is UP a half a pound. This wouldn't bother me since a half a pound is no big deal, but I've been killing myself over calories and that's the only response from the scale! What's wrong with me?! |

| Yes, it can be very frustrating, sorry that the scale is not being nice to you right now. Have you taken your measurements since you strated? Sometimes the tape will be a better metre than the scale. | ||

Thankfully I did. I've seen no change in the numbers, however, my pants seem to be fitting slightly looser, barely enough to tell a difference (to the point where i'm only questioning if the reason I can pull them off without undoing them is because I lost my belt xD). |

The time of day (/month) also affects your weight which is why a lot of people weigh themselves in the morning on an empty stomach & naked, so I wouldn't be worried, it might just be the food you have eaten or your clothes? Keep at it anyway :) |

Also keep in mind that it might take more than two weeks for your body to really start responding to your new healthy eating habits. Keep at it and I'm sure you'll get some great results soon! |

I agree it can take time. I think I lost not even a lb the first month but 5 lbs the second month. Also weight - at least for me - comes off in spurts. So maybe no difference for 2-3 weeks and then bam I will drop 2 lbs virtually overnight. |

plus: if it's that time of the month (or just up to it), we usually tend to get a wee bit heavier... |

YES! Good to know, cause it IS that time of the month, and the day I checked was the night before I got it.

| Like was stated don't worry too much if you don't see a huge difference on the scale right away, weights flucuate. For example I was 175 Sunday night and yesterday morning came in at 168. I went on a tough rafting and camping trip for several days where we were white water rafting all day one day and the rest of the time we were hiking up and down steep hills including carrying a bag that was around 40-50 pounds. The scale didn't move much but I noticed this morning that I may have to go shopping for a new belt. | ||

I log my weight into CC every morning, nude, before I eat anything, so I have a totally cool graph (sorry you don't have a scale ~.~) and I can see that even though I'm going up and down, I can rest assured, I'll only go down more later. But what someone else said was important, weight the same time under same circumstances, like maybe you were wearing shorts then you were wearing pants or something. even though you may have lost half a pount it was covered by the pants, sorry i don't know, but that's what I think XD |

A good diet will only carry you so far. A half hour walking doesn't require much energy and isn't going to get your heart rate up very high. You could try and pick up a cheap heart rate monitor. Will help you to learn how much effort you need to put into your walks to get your heart rate up. |
