What's YOUR dangerous food? bilaya
  May 19 2008 21:17

So, there are plenty of healthy foods out there. But you know what they say. Too much of a good thing isn't always a good thing. So what's something that when you eat it, you usually end up eating too much?

For me, it's almonds. Especially dry roasted almonds. A handful of nuts every day is supposed to be good for you, but I always end up eating 3 or 4 servings. Also. Special K bars. They're delicious, but I seem to eat maybe 4 of them if I'm not paying attention.

How about you? What makes you lose control?

Cereal. I love anything frosted with oodles and oodles of marshmallows. Yeah haven't had any in over 7 months.

coffee, because it's dehydrating and makes me skip my healthy breakfast if I drink too early.  On my rest days, I can drink a lot and then I forget to drink enough water.

Hmmm...probably cereal .That stuff can be pretty caloric although it's not necessarily unhealthy. This weekend I ate handful after handful of raisin bran. Must have been at least 4 cups I ate.

cheddar cheese rice cakes, i would eat them like chips so i just decided to give them up for a while

Fat free frozen yogurt... up until a couple of years ago my mantra was "if it doesn't have fat it doesn't count" needless to say I O.D.ed on sugary pop and sweets of all sorts.

Luckily I'm wiser now. And still fighting to fix what I did to my body, but I still can eat a pint of Fat Free Frozen Yogurt if I'm not paying attention. Now I eat those skinny cow treats, they are great because they are preportioned.

Sweet potatoes. <3 I'm currently having the first sweet potatoes I've had in MONTHS (last time I had them was at Christmas and my grandmother's house...yeah, it's food associated with holidays for me), and I'm basically going, "SWEET POTATOES! >3"

I boiled three of them (which was all I bought, because I was uncertain of how much to make/eat), sprinkled a tiny, tiny amount of brown sugar on them (can barely taste it), and now am telling myself I should probably save the half of the bowl that's sitting in front me of me.... I boiled them soft enough to sort of mash them and sprinkled the sugar over top of them and "mixed" it in.

<3 Sometimes it's a good thing to have hubby away from home. He hates sweet potatoes D=. I wouldn't be able to enjoy them nearly this much. I'd be bombarded with questions.

...Oh well, I think I'm going to eat my whole bowl. I'm not sure I have the ability to save them, haha.

Sweet potatoes, oh yes! And steamed carrots, normal potatoes, soups (high sodium)... oh dear, so many fruits.

XD I'm a mess.

Also "bad" foods, but they're hard to stop eating for most people anyway

chips, milk, cereals, watermelon, alcohol.Innocent

cake

It's the only bad food that I can't seem to limit myself to a reasonable amount of without going back for more.

Ice cream? sure, I can have half a cup. Cereal, I can measure.

But cake, I always go back for seconds

Artichokes, cherries, fresh coconut and melons....I could sit around eating those all day long!!!

#11 katepoo May 19 2008 23:48

I don't think I've ever OD-ed on anything healthy:S hahaha

I can't control myself at all around chips or french fries though...Or anything else that is salty and greasy (ie everything at McDonalds)

Anything sweet that is not an ice cream bar. Seriously... I need to eat the entire package - cupcakes, cookies, candies. It's very sad. Thank goodness ice cream bars satisfy my sweet tooth and don't make me binge.

Peanut butter! My mom has just caught on to the fact that it's dangerous for me if we have some in the house, I'll almost always binge on it.  She'll buy a big jar of Jif one day, and the next day it'll be gone.

Most dangerous DONUT is the French Crullers followed closely by Bismark's.

Up until recently, I'd frequently get a Subway 12 inch Italian BMT with provlone cheese and almost every kind of vegetable, including all the hot peppers...with white bread. No oil though! Are ya wondering if I ate the whole thing in one sitting? You bet. I did this so frequently that they knew my order at three different Subways, several different employees.

Pizza!  Pizza! Pizza!   Plus cereal - everyone says it's so healthy, but I can seriously eat a whole box in less than a day.

#19 dvh552 May 20 2008 16:01

I LOVE pizza- and living in NYC- there's no shortage of awesome pizza. I also like to drink. A lot.  People at my office keep putting out girl scout cookies in front of my desk... that doesn't help either haha.
