Open Group - 60-80lbs to Lose! infiniteheart
  May 19 2008 20:00

I have 80lbs to lose until I reach my goal weight. Does anyone else have around 80lbs to lose? If so, post your stats and we can lose the weight together!

Here are my stats:

  • SW (Starting Weight): 194lbs
    CW (Current Weight): 185lbs
    GW (Goal Weight): 104-105lbs
  • Height: 5' 1"
  • Sex: Female
  • Age: 18

We're all here to support each other. So, whether you're having a great day or a horrible day, feel free to talk about it here. Post your weight updates whenever you feel comfortable doing so. There is only one rule here: Be kind. Let's not bring each other down.

Good luck!

Edit (July 11, 2008): The group is now open for those hoping to lose 60-80lbs.

I started cc in March with 80 pounds to lose and so far I have lost 15 pounds.  I have been looking for a forum that is just starting so I feel like I know what is going on.

SW 232 lbs.

CW 217 lbs.

GW 150 lbs.

Height: 5' 5"

Sex: Female

Age: 21

My first goal was to lose 10 pounds in 6 weeks which I did.  Lately I have become very un-motivated and I need to get out of this rut.  My next goal is to lose a total of 40 lbs by my birthday which is August 1st.   I am going to start weigh ins on Monday morning in hopes that it will cause me to do better on the weekends.

If anyone has any advice on ways to stay motivated I would love some help.

Hello, tearralee. Thanks for joining and congratulations on all your sucess! Losing 40lbs in only 2.5 months may be difficult but I know if you put your mind to it, it can be done.

I stay motivated by reading the list I made of all the things I'm looking forward to when I lose the weight (i.e. fitting into clothes that I like, feeling confident in a swim suit, etc). It really gives me something to look forward to and keeps me on track. Also, just knowing that there's someone out there who supports me is a great motivator.

Good luck!

In reality I only need to lose 25 more pounds by Aug. 1 to reach my goal, so even if my mind isn't in it 110% I can still come close.  I have been looking at really cute swim suits online that are actually on a woman so I can print them out and hang them on my mirror as a motivator.  My boyfriend thinks it is going to look like a teenage boys room but we will see how it works.  I am looking into getting a gym pass but it will be my luck I will never use it and just have to keep paying the monthly fees forever!!  What kind of exercise do you do?

#4 oneof2 May 19 2008 21:29

This sounds great - I could use some encouragement myself.  I want to lose about 84 lbs total, only a week in (CW is a guess, I weigh myself tomorrow).  The swimsuit thing sounds like a great motivator.  I did that in a previous attempt to lose weight and still have the picture - have to get that updated soon, because this time I'm going to make it!

Infiniteheart, hi there!

Start weight= 227, Current weight= 211, Goal weight= 130, Height= 5`5, Age= 23, sex= female-

And you can call me mooolah! Well my story is that one day i went to wal-mart for shopping. I saw a scale there and for curiosity i thought hey! lets check my weight! And that was the day i realized that i have a problem. MAJOR problem! Then i started watching what i eat. Believe me within a month i got from 227 to 211 just by watching what i eat(not starving either). Now i started working out with diet as well and it's showing better results.

I wish you all best of luck with your goals! Any advice/ideas will be much appreciated!

Thanks!

I am a new member as of today and my goal is to lose at least 75lbs by next May. My two big motivators are getting married in August of '09 and one day having kids. I want to be as healthy as I can be when I decide to have kids.

I do have a question...how do I start my own forum question? Do I have to reply to so many forums before I can ask my own questions? I just can't seem to find where it says to create a question.

Jessica9985 - If you go to forum and click where you want to ask the question...weight loss, motivation, fitness, which ever one you want, at the top of the page it will say new topic.  Click it and ask away!  Congrats on getting married!  And Good Luck!

Moolah - Did you count calories, stay away from fast food, or what?  How did you do that?  My biggest problem is my live in boyfriend.  He is about 160 lbs and loves to eat fast food. Any time it is his night to cook dinner he gets Panda or Burger King or Taco Bell!

tearralee - I do cardio 5-6 times a week and I also do dumbbell exercises about 3-4 times a week. There are some really great websites that show you dumbbell routines, so if you're interested, I'd be happy to give you the links. Smile

oneof2 - Thanks for joining! Good luck on your weigh-in tomorrow!

moolah - Congratulations on all your success! I know how it feels to get that wake up call. It may not be pleasant, but I think it's sometimes necessary.

jessica9985 - Welcome to the CC and thank you for joining! Those are some great motivators. Smile Anyhow, when you want to start a new topic, just go to any of the main sections on the boards (i.e. "Weight Loss" or "The Lounge") and you should see "New Topic" under the big heading. Just click on that and voilà!

I was right, down 1 to 238.  I think I'm getting a bit more muscle, so that might explain the low loss number.

I think I'm going to do my measurements this week for a more accurate picture.  Do you all do measurements as well?  Where have you seen the most change?

Tearralee,:All i ate during that time was veggies and fruits, and sometimes chicken breast and egg for protein. I had really bad eating habits, so only by changing them i dropped 15 lbs right away. Now i am losing weight very fast. I hope it's not tooo fast lol.

#14 infiniteheart May 20 2008 20:01

yahvinah2 and maria1801 - Welcome to the group!

daybyday27 - It's nice to see a fellow Canadian on the boards. Smile Thanks for joining us!

oneof2 - I don't do measurements, lol. I'm afraid of the numbers I'll see. Oh, and losing one pound is still a step in the right direction. Smile

moolah - Wow, you only ate fruits and veggies for that long? I couldn't handle that, lol. I might try it for a week, though. Thanks for the info!

#15 maria1801 May 20 2008 20:06

Thanks!  I'm Canadian too! Woohoo! hehe

#16 moolah May 20 2008 20:13

No not only fruits and veggies. What i do is i eat all the heavy stuff during the day like in breakfast or lunch i eat egg or meat(white). Then after that i snack on fruits and veggies until 6 or 7 pm. Nothing after that. I think if you avoid eating late at night, that alone is a big help in losing weight.

Tip: If you add one cup of home made veggie soup in your daily diet, it will make your skin so pretty like it did to mine. I add all good veggies in a single pot, cook it for about 3 hours and drain the soup in seperate pot and drink that all week. It is not so tasty but i just drink it anyways lol. Its very good for ur skin!

Good luck all!
