| Do you keep clothes on when weighing? | ||
| May 19 2008 18:32 | ||
I was wondering, do you keep clothes on when weighing? The first thing I do in the morning is go to the restroom, take off t-shirts and shorts then step onto the scale. I keep underwears on but want to see how much 'I', just 'ME', weight with out clothes. :) Any comments? |

You wouldn't get a very accurate picture of your weight if you wore clothes, because the weight of your clothes will vary day to day. I typically wear nothing on the scale. |

I generally weigh in my underwear and bra. They don't add much. |

yeah totally agree with the above....butt naked is the only accurate way to do it. |

I think you should take of picture of what you wear on the scales so we can get a better estimate. |

I wear my clothes because I weigh myself at work (I don't have a scale at home on purpose!) - I'm not about to get naked here :) |

mysticjbyrd: Uh... I don't think I'll take a picture of me with just undies alle0299: I feel you :D We have a scale at work too and I weight myself fully clothed (even shoes)

I weigh in with all but miscellaneous accessories and shoes, as often being boots or creepers they tend to weigh quite a bit themselves. I know that weighing in nude would be most accurate however, I don't think my jeans and shirt, or two, really make a difference. |

I weigh in public as well and I wear the same little shoes and light clothing every time. That's how I get weighed at the Dr. office. |

heh, we have the same morning schedule ^^
I always take off my shorts and shirt but leave my undies on, cos they dont weight anything
but then again, i'm in my own bathroom =/ |

heh, I pretty much have to, or the Boots security team would throw me naked and shivering into the street. And then I'd get harpooned by passing Urban Whale Hunters. :(
I've got to get my own weighing scales haha! |

i think naked is the most accurate...clothing and shoes can add pounds on your actual number |

Generally, when I weigh myself at home, I weigh myself naked. Thing is, at the doctor's office or any other place like that, you can't exactly weigh yourself naked. And the scale always reads anywhere between 2-6lbs heavier for me, at the doctor's office. I factor in the weight of clothes, and the fact I probably ate something/have had something to drink before I got there, too. I like knowing what I, by myself, weigh, haha. |

Original Post by mysticjbyrd: Yeah... lol This is the only way we can be sure all of you are weighing properly. lol
But seriously. Naked is really the only way you should weigh. |

lol what a funny topic, I weigh naked too, just before I get in the shower in the AM. Except I usually have socks on cause the scale is metal and cold, as well as the tile floor. But I figure the few ounces they weigh don't make enough of a difference for me to care. Even if I weighed in public I think I'd take my shoes off, depending on the shoes they could add a few lbs. |

Haha Thank you all for sharing :) I got to work really early today and in the locker room, where we have a scale, I got butt naked and measured. It felt good...! LOL |

Original Post by systemp: Hey I am still all for the pictures. You can never have too much information. We got to make sure nothing is adding to the scale. |

If you can, weigh yourself once with your clothes and then once without. That'll give you an idea how much your clothes are adding. Then you can approximate for other outfits if you're in a hurry. I've found that a shirt and pants adds about 1.5-2 lbs. Your body is going to vary in water weight more than that anyway. |
