I used to take any diet pill that contained Ephedra. It did help me lose weight the first time but my body got used to it and it's not helping this time. once you stop taking them you realize how hungry you are and your body gets really slow, probably because taking Ephedra feels like an adrenaline shot. It does help to suppress your appetite and makes exercise easier to do. I found the head aches and sleepless nights to be annoying but nothing i couldn't handle. I might try them again but at a high dose to help kick start my diet again and some are not as expensive as people make out. It's not really a long term plan. Eating healthy and in moderation works better and is safer for you. I hope that helped. |

im taking hyrdoxycut not for its supposed weight loss benefits, but i have a blood disorder which causes me to be anemic 99.99% of my life...so i need something to keep me from not sleeping in bed all day. Drinking too much coffee hurts my throat (weird eh?) so i take one or two in the morning depending if i have to workout. otherwise i find it really hard to workout let alone carry out my day to day life. I dont attribute it to my weight loss b/c i had similar results without the pill (albeit i was a lot more fatigued) |

i take a vitamin supplement with caffeine in it. Its not necessarily a diet pill per se.. but... when i actually remember to take it, the caffeine in it gives me the energy to work out for extended periods of time without feeling so much fatigue so i guess inadvertedly it actually does help. |

I use to take xenadrine...back when it had the ephedra in it. I took it for 2 years and developed congestive heart failure!!! Now 5 years later I'm finally off all my heart medicine, but I was moments away from having a massive heart attack! My heart muscles where so weak from beating so fast for so long that they couldn't pump my fluids through my body anymore. After I gained 30lbs of water weight in a 5 day period that's when I knew something was seriously wrong. My advice to you is....please don't take pills. I don't want you to have to go through what I went through. P.S....I can't have no more children because of this. |

yes, I am taking reductil, it basically works by making you feel fuller after eating less, it should also be noted that it does not immediately efeect your BMR. I took it in the past for 3 months with success (years ago) and kept the weight off until pregnancy and post partum depression got the best of me, and after several months of trying to do it the "right" way, I am using it again to kick start the change. Mostly since I am not hungry, I monitor my calories to make sure I dont eat too little!!! But for the most part it has no ill effects, but if memory serves me well (and it does) if you dont drink PLENTY of water you will get VERY constipated! Won't let that happen again! hmmm, its about 90 dollars a month in Australia if that helps. I had tried a few months ago (same box i am using now, for a week, but I was too stressed so i still MANAGED to overeat, so what i am saying is that your heaRT has to be in it either way, and it is not a silver bullet, you have to be ready!!!

I was taking a pill called Fucothin, which is distributed by a company I think was called Whole Life or something like that. They were originally a supplement (vitamins and such) distributor, but they started selling this pill as a weight management aide. I was drawn to it because I found the ad in my Vegetarian Times magazine and because it promised no jittery side effects. I haven taken ephedra, TrimSpa, Xenadrine, Cortislim, etc in the past and have been SO sick on all of them, with no results. This one was different because it didn't make me sick at all, I didn't feel jittery or nervous. It is made of something called Fucothimin (I think...) and seaweed, with some other stuff thrown in. You can only find it at stores like Whole Foods and Vitamin World and other natural food stores. I don't know if it really helped my weight loss, because I haven't taken any in about 3 weeks and I still have dropped some weight, but I did drop about 7 lbs on it (with the recommended diet-CC-and exercise-about 4-5 days a week, 60 min-in about 6 weeks or so) so maybe it worked? I am going to try it again to see if there is any real difference. It is about $45 a bottle, so it's not cheap, but it's not $100 like some pills. |

Original Post by rstrehle85: OK, here's the thing. If you're watching your calories and exercising, what exactly is the pill doing?? If there was a magical pill that stripped off fat and made us lose weight, we'd all be on it and look like gods/goddesses. Like anything else worth having, it involves some work and committment. |

I agree with above. Most of these pills have 'can aid weight loss as part of a calorie controlled diet'. The only thing you need to aid your weight loss on a calorie controlled diet is willpower. I tried many a pill & patch in past - they don't work! Don't waste your money. Save the money you might of spent on diet pills & buy an exercise bike. |
