Question on beans sailorette
  May 15 2008 23:21

I havent be able to find out the exact calories in beans

I prepare them by soaking them in water for a couple of hours then boil them in onion powder, garlic powder and then chopped onions,

my question is, does eatting beans make you gain weight, i know eating too much of something will, but i heard that beans are starchy, so im guessing they're arent as good.

What beans can't you find - all the ones I eat appear to be in the database, even Adzuki beans.

They are a GREAT source of nutrition. [unless you are on a low carb diet] - full of fiber and soluble fiber [good for lowering cholesterol] - high in protein, though they are missing some of our essential amino acids [but you can get those from grains]

Now canned beans of any sort - typically high in sodium Baked beans - have a lot of sugar added etc.
