Ok so I met with a Trainer and she told me that Weight Loss is 70% diet and 30% exercise. To me it seems like exercise should have a little more impact than 30%. I'm just curious as to if this is correct? |

Oh I completely agree with you on that point 100%!!! I just don't think she is giving exercise enough credit. I'm also thinking she is crazy because of other things that she told me. Like to stay away from fruit (I'm hypoglycemic and need the natural sugars. I think staying away ), that cardio isn't that important for fat loss.

Well, we all know that cardio burns more calories than weight training as an activity. However, I think weight training misses out on a lot of attention from women who are mainly interested in burning fat. Your body burns the calories it burns daily based not only on your weight but your body's composition. Muscle burns more calories than fat. Add a few pounds of muscle and all of a sudden you're burning more calories each day while resting than before. Long term, weight training is very helpful for fat loss. Maybe that's what she meant by that. |

Well, honestly I don't think about the percentages of diet, exercise, etc.. All I know is that I do the best I can to eat healthy and implement a good exercise program. I'm a little surprise as to why cardio isn't that important for fat loss when it is in fact important! Just as persephone86 said. Cardio gets your body working and sweating and burning!!! Implement that with some weight lifting and you'll be in great shape. I mean, if a person exercises regularly and still eat junk food and fatty food and well...the likes, it kinds of kills the whole point. I mean in my opinion. Soo... for the most part, maybe she's saying when you're not exercising watch what you eat. something like that?? I'm just guessing but YES cardio IS important! Bye now. =D |
