Why don't they shrink? (women only please)

I've noticed on most of the forums I have read that most women lose their weight in their breasts.  But I went to Victorias seceret yesterday to get a new bra because the ones I have don't seem to fit right anymore figuring since they felt big that maybe my size had finally gotten smaller...but she measured me and thought that maybe that I would be able to wear a 34DD...so she gave me a 34 and a 36...I ended up going with the 36 which is what I was wearing in the first place but just a D not a DD.  My mother and sister don't have large breasts and I know I have a couple people in my family that do have larger breasts but none of them are thin so I figured that had a lot to do with it.  Just wondering what I should think.

Breast size really doesn't shrink that much but chest size does hence you could go from 36 to 34 but remain a D cup. When I weighed 96 lbs (I am 4'8" so 94 is my ideal weight), I remained a D cup. Now that I have fattened up, I am a DD but as I have started to loose weight, my cup size is returning to its normal D. You may loose a little in way of cup size but I would wager that like myself, you are always going to be large breasted without surgery that is just what nature gave ya!

I am just the opposite...mom and sis have big ones, mine are smaller. But, back to your question, are you sure your breasts are NOT smaller? Just because your bra size and/or measurements are about the same doesn't necessarily mean they are the same size as before. I have lost 25 lbs and my bras were not fitting any more, so I went to get new ones....same size for the most part. I was in a 40B, bought one 40B and one 38C, so I think it just depends on the rest of your chest. The way they fit bras is different everywhere I think-I checked online and was amazed at the options! I may be wrong, but those are my thoughts.

i dont think how thin u r matters much. it can come from any where in ur family. my moms side has DD and my dads  side is smaller. so i only had a c cup when my mom and everyone was way bigger. but then when i had my son they went up to DDs and they never went away. so im not sure how it all works. but  hope i helped alittle.

Losing weight changed my band size, but not my cup size.  I was a pretty full D cup and now am just perfectly a D.  I think that cup size changes in proportion to the band or something.

I went from an A to a AA.... haha... why is it that only the tiny boobs shrink to even tinier?

Were you measured properly for a bra the last time you bought one? Most women are actually wearing the wrong bra size in the first place.  I almost died of shock when I got measured for the first time...I turned out to be a 32FF and I had been wearing a 36D!

It also will depend a lot on what style of bra you buy (balconette, full cup, minimiser, wired, non-wired etc...) and what brand...pretty much like all clothing...no 2 bras from different companies will ever measure up exactly the same!

I always buy my bras from Victoria seceret and they are always the ones that measure me.  I guess I just felt concerned because it seems like everyone on here talks about how their boobs got smaller as soon as they start losing weight.  Thanks for making me feel better about it.  I am glad to hear it's not just me. :)

Yeah I hear the "shrinking" part! I wish mine had grown!! When i lost weight.. I went from a 34 C to a 32A.. How annoying!

I think is normal what happened, I mean you didn't lose that much weight so you still have the same circumference undeneath the breast, but the breast, which are mainly fat, got a little smaller.

My cup size got quite a bit smaller :(   I did not really notice a change until I hit the 10 lbs lost mark.  Yea for 10 lbs, boooo for smaller boobs!

My chest is the last to go when I have lost weight in the past. When I was 110 lbs I was a 32C and at 125 lbs I was a 34DD and at 150 I'm a 34DD. Go figure!

Some of it may have to do with age, genetics, and just how much or how little weight you lose. All of my sisters and I are an A or smaller, but my Mother is a D. When I lost weight from my pregnancy, I went to a cup size smaller than what I had before I was pregnant (less than A). I've never been able to gain THAT part back (It's been 10 years). I've heard of weightloss in the breast first, but I also know a lot of women who only gain the weight in the breasts too. Really, I think genetics is it. Has long has your losing weight at a healthy pace, don't think about where your losing it.Laughing
