When wasa crackers taste like a treat.

When the actual taste of real butter is a long lost memory.

When your fantasies no longer include Johnny Depp but instead, Little Debbie!

and yours?

• real sugar tastes funny
• one bite of a Mr. Big bar is sweet enough to last you all day
• you've forgotten what bacon tastes like

#2 rtsandlin May 11 2008 23:05

you think about drinking something other than water and then decide not to because you are well on your way to a world record for how long it's been since you had anything but water. ugh.

Company looks at you strangely when you offer them hummus and pita bread instead of chips.
#4 alylou May 11 2008 23:12

bacon? I know I should remember.....

you actually look forward to eating carrots, cucumber, tomatoes, celery & salad, and when you want something sweet, you grab some carrots & you swear that they are sweet.  :D

you would rather walk than watch tv...

geez!  i have millions of these, but i guess i'll quit...  LOL

no, wait!  your bedroom is full of junk food that's expiring!

I know that

one oz of skim milk has 10 cals

one oz of lite yogurt has 10 cals

50 grams of spinach has 10 cals

and know many other calorie stats of food in realtion to their weight by memory...

when you look forward to your slurge meal and get full after eating half of what you thought you would.

#8 angeleyes137 May 12 2008 02:03

your 'dessert' is oatmeal with fruit. And you prefer it over ice cream any day..

You go to Ruby Tuesday with your whole family and don't eat a thing!!! Today my whole family went out to celebrate Mother's Day and well since I'm on a diet I decided I was not going to eat the food there because I couldn't find anything healthy to eat =( ... So I pretty much sat there looking at my family eat eat and EAT!!! And OH MY GOD can those people eat :D lol

Well I can't complain too much because I got a couple of glimpse at a cute waiter... Man was he cute!!! =)

- You look forward to no-fat organic Greek yogurt, previously the most sour, watery thing in the world, and honestly think it tastes better than ice-cream.

- You know the calories of almost any food, and rush to research those you don't know

- You only have salad from the salad bar during meals, and skip the canned pineapple because it has too much sugar anyways

The list could go on.

You actually have thought to yourself "Wow, I can have as much water as I want? That's great!"

How sad. I guess that's my life now! haha

When tap water is more appealing than juice on a hot day...

And your dinners are mostly vegetables and you like the taste without any kind of dressing or sauce...

I love carrots and water!

#14 morganbclaw May 12 2008 16:45

when you go out your friends just start letting you pick the place since you are "the picky one"

When you order a grilled chicken patty with just lettuce from Carl's Jr, and it's too salty so you just eat the lettuce, and when you're done, you say wow it tasted just like the real thing! (And actually believe that).

When homemade ketchup tastes better than store brand.

When you order extra lettuce and mushrooms, because you can have "all you want" and get excited by that.

When you can tell how much is 2 oz of meat just by looking at it.

When you crack the egg and skillfully avoid dropping the yoke into the bowl.

When you get excited because you can chew sugar free orange gum, and savor it like it's some sort of juice/candy from the heavens.

  • you consider drinking 3 litres of water per day normal
  • You look forward to the broccoli/peas/spinach/peppers on the menu, not the casserole
  • You get full really easily, but get hungry only 2 hours after
#17 scaroppo May 12 2008 20:13

- you mentally add your calories while eating dinner with family and have to keep yourself from leaving the table to log them into the computer

- you push yourself to do 20 minutes more on the treadmill so that you can justify an extra glass of red wine at dinner

- you can tell what time it is by your stomach because you're hungry just about every 3 hours

- you no longer enjoy milk chocolate or M&Ms because they are too sweet.

#18 x17star17x May 12 2008 23:07

when:

- you look at other people's food and can estimate how much they are eating

- you no longer have to take out a measuring cup to measure, or weigh meat. You just KNOW it.

- you eat all of your veggies and wish you had more opposed to the main dish

- you eat an apple for dessert because it's better than any ice cream bar you can think of

I can't say milk chocolate is too sweet, or M&Ms, but I do know M&Ms are just not 'worth' the calories, and there are so many more gourmet brands much more worth it. Which is why I avoid anything with mars on the box :)

So I'll add one

- when you start eating small pieces of chocolate and letting it just melt in your mouth. chewing chocolate is so pre diet ;)

The thought of eating greasy fast food (especially a hamburger) turns your stomach.

It is true....you fill up right away, and then are hungry 2-3 hours later.  Sometimes sooner!

Twinkies?  Gross.  They used to be one of my favorites!

(I still love ice cream, bacon & dark chocolate ... not all at the same time.  I'm never going to give those up - in moderation!)
