To all you smokers... jef

What do you think of this gadget? (the Gamucci Micro Electronic Cigarette)

Its designed to be a healthier* alternative to smoking, and its an electronic cigarette.

I'm not a smoker myself, and never had been, so I dont know how much value it would be to people looking to quit smoking - but I thought it looked interesting enough to mention!

*it still contains nicotine.

I am honestly half-tempted to buy this thing.  If anything its a novelty item.  But does it really taste like a cigarette?  I'm a part-time smoker... this would be fun to take to the bars when I 'need' it LOL.  And its rechargable!!!  Too funny.

At $90 that is about a carton and half here in Canada.  I wonder how much the refills are?
#3 jef May 08 2008 21:58
Well, they say that the refils come in different flavours and 'strengths'. aaand.. £6.95 for a pack of 5 refills. (one refill = 20 cigarrettes). Not too bad I say!

I Embarassed am a still a full time smoker. I hope one day to quit, but I don't think I'd be able to replace my real ciggs with that thing. Next thing you know they'll be selling nicotine shots or pills for me to get my fix! (although that would be healthier for the old lungs)

Thanks for the laugh!!

I get my cigarettes for $15 bucks a carton (yes, in Canada...yes it's legal).  We'd go broke if we spent 60-80 bucks a carton.  That's an obscene price.

my friendbought a similar device recently. she spends lots of money on it, has to take care of buying new capsules (ok, this is both same as with normal smoking, only the capsules are not so readily available), and the thing broke 3 times, so 3 times she had to send it back. i would say it might be a good idea to wait a few years when these devices become more advanced and wont break so often:)))

I live in the US and the brand I buy are always on sale (buy two get one free) I pay around twelve dollars for three packs. I smoke about a half pack a day, so I spend a little over $12.00 a week. My fast food habit was more expensive!!

Do you buy Parliaments? I live in the US too and as a heavy smoker myself, I know only of Parliaments and some Marlboro's that are always Buy One Get One Free. I love those little deals.

As for the e-cig, as much as I would love to get one, just because it looks fun, it's a little too rich for my blood. Plus, I wouldn't want to waste the money just in case it doesn't help me quit.

I just realized how much money I would save if I quit smoking.... I'd be rich!

To ALL of you - IMPORTANT !!!

I am 37 old male, 10 lb overweight, workout 3-4 times a week, drink alcohol on weekends ( red wine , beer ).

A month ago when I get back from work around 4:00 , started to feel little dizzy

with crushing pain on my chest . After half an hour I want to hospital.

Diagnosis  after  ECG  ( ekg )  was  Heart  Attack. The  main  cause  of it was

Smoking !!!

So STOP right now , instead of finding gadgets. You save lots of money , your life and the pain of seeing your close ones worry to death.

I was lucky , but it could be much worse. Death .

That,s my two cents .

ps: at my CCU ( critical care unit ) in the hospital , there was more women than man with heart problems.

Sounds good. not sure if it would work though? if it does then it would save alot of money compared to real ones.

I smoke roughly 4 or 5 a day, so i'd only have to pay £7 or so a month to smoke, instead of £30. That would be pretty cool :)

I buy the cheap ones $7.40 for a package.

If I want to drive 150 km I can get a carton for $15.00 + gas.
