Birthday Dinner Tonight lolo87
  May 08 2008 17:34

My Dad and I are celebrating our birthdays tonight, and I am limited in my choices. I have these 3 menu items to choose from...

Spinach Salad
Tender baby spinach leaves tossed with sliced mushrooms, mandarin oranges, roasted red peppers, and toasted almonds. Served with warm balsamic dressing on the side

Black Dog Nature Burger
Veggie patty, topped with avocado salsa, lettuce, sprouts, red onion, sliced tomato, multi grain bun and salad.

Buddha Bowl
Steamed brown rice with ginger peanut sauce topped with chick peas, sunflower sprouts, marinated grilled tofu steaks, diced tomatos, red onion, raw and toasted nuts and seeds. (I would get the dressing on the side)

I don't want to just eat a salad for a special dinner, but I don't know which option is my best :\. Help!

Whenever you're going seems fabulous! All three sound delicious. I personally would probably choose the nature burger(the avocado salsa is doing it for me) or the buddha bowl!

The Black Dog Nature Burger sounds rather healthy is you arent wanting to choose salad (neither would i on my b.day) The Buddha Bowl has peanut sause which is pretty high calorie! but totally upto you of course

Black Dog Nature Burger- My choice :)

It's funny because we're actually going to a pub that has a healthy options section. So one half of the menu is all deep friend and the other half is all organic, vegan, glueten free, free range meat choices. They even have a spelt carrot cake with tofu cream cheese icing for desert!(which is exciting for me, haha)

Thanks for the b-day wishes. It's not until Sunday, but I'll be 21. Woo!

It's your birthday! and you're 21! get a nice fat juicy hamburger and a beer. indulge a little. if not then go with the nature burger.

I'd get the Buddha bowl because it's the easiest thing to split in half so you can have it for lunch tomorrow too!

Veggie burger! The avocado salsa sounds interesting (&thats a good balanced meal from what I see).

I agree with wvumaniac13. Indulge a bit - just don't make a habit of it :)

Mind you, the Buddha bowl sounds very nice.

I had the Buddha Bowl. It was huge and didn't even eat half of it.
I would of indulged more, but I am a vegetarian attempting to go vegan so my choices were extra limited.
