That is different for everyone. However, most people will fit into one of the following ratio guidelines. 20-50-30 60-25-15 40-30-30 and the ever popular... 50-30-20 |

Stick with the Canada Food Guide. Or 25-30% fat, 15-20% protein and 55-60% carbs. http://www.netrition.com/rdi_page.html Go to this site and see the breakdown. http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/fn-an/food-guide-aliment/index_e.html This is the Canada Food Guide |

It depends on your physical activity level too! If you're out doing cardiovascular or resistance exercises everyday (or close to everyday) there will be modification to the "recommended" guidelines.
Just make sure you that your nutritional intake fits your own individual lifestyle =) |

Original Post by iknowmychicken: is this protein/carbs/fats? Or what?
I think for the extra lean look one,and you're doing some serious weights and cardio, should follow the 60(protein)-25(carbs)-15(fat), wouldn't you agree? |

http://mypyramid.gov/ curious of opinions on this they apparently updated the Food Pyramid thing in the US what % does this amount to if followed. Does the information seem better than in the old food pyramid? |

Original Post by oneis2many: The ratios are usually listed as carbs/proteins/fats. The first three ratios apply if you are eating by your metabolic type, which is what I do. It has nothing to do with what you do for exercise or what you want to look like. It has to do with what fuel your body burns most efficiently, leading to better health and quicker weight loss. The "ever popular" ratio I threw in for fun as a lot of people tend to think that the governments & departments of agriculture etc. know what's best for their health and thus follow a food guide or pyramid which usually uses this ratio as a golden rule. |
