Awesome post. I am happy to say that I have never had the #1 worst food in America and it doesn't even sound good to me. blech.

I read these same articles and  was so pissed!

I can't believe how much crap is out there!

We eat out once or twice a month occasionally pizza or wings or something really bad but there are a couple Natural eateries here that we like where the nutrional info is not so scary.

It just amazes me to think how distorted our perception of a serving size is and more so what a restuarant doesn't tell you abou tthe food.

In my state (NY) Wgman's stores are the Ritz of the Grocery Store world and they have prepared meals from subs to soups and sandwiches to chicken french and fillet of salmon. They hav erecently started posting nutritional info right on the sign above the food so you know what you are eating and I think it is awesome!

I'm with you zimcassy I have actually never been to half the restaurants listed because we try and stick with natural unprocessed foods and because we can't afford to eat out much.

Perhaps that is a blessing!

GREAT INFO!

Me and my friends go out to eat at Chili's every so often and sometimes we get the chocolate chip paradise pie at 1600 calories. Granted we split the one desert between 4 of us, and it fills us all up, I can't imagine someone ever eating the whole thing by themselves.

Great read!

I'm sharing this with my friends.

It's pretty typical America. More than a little bit of those types of food is just too much. Like trying to eat plain honey, or butter, or something. Just too much, you know? You almost can't get proper food here in America--it's all bland and sweet and greasy.

Wow that's some mega calories.

Glad that I don't eat out much-the list of 'worst foods' was amazing! thanks for the info-I'm going to pass it along to some of friends that indulge in dining out-Ack!

Yep - #1 is like my favorite food of all time! But I knew it was bad for you Smile

There's something crazy for you - I find I don't like the taste of American food anymore, because now after spending a lot of time eating real food, it does all taste like bad sugar or grease without any flavor to it.  I don't even crave convenience foods anymore because they just don't taste good :)

WOW, what an eye opener.  I am a real big fan of ceaser salad.  I thought it was a healthy choice, but I guess I was wrong.  I am so glad I saw this.

Now I KNOW what I'm doing wrong.

My 2 loves are chicken wraps and ceaser salads.
I would have them occasionally, but obviously I need to think about my diet regime altogether.

It all depends on what you put on it really, and you can get some insane toppings.

I think its interesting how normal peanut butter is healthier than the reduced fat equivalent!

HA! I knew wheat grass juice was way too evil to be good for you!

Unrelated note: I want to stab the designers of that website right in the face. Why do I have to click a thousand little links to get the whole article? BAD DESIGNERS BAD BAD BAD

#16 colburn34 May 13 2008 19:56

Well, I've had the number one worst food, and there is a reason why it isn't good for you, just because it taste so darn good!!!  But no more of those.  Thanks for the links, they are very helpful and insightful.
