I think that us moms who breastfeed just cannot compare ourselves to everyone else - except myabe those that are pregnant!
i try to focus on others and there calories and goals but mine just dont compare-- therefor i think we need our own weigh in group!!
im a mom to a 2 yr old and a five month old
i am 5'4 - 24 years old
starting weight-185 back from january
current -161.4
goal -135
i weigh in on tuesdays- but heck as long as we post are weights on whichever day we can support one another!
i think this will be fun- we can compare our excerise rather then to peep who workout vigorously since we have to keep our milk supply too!
What's your stats??
Hi there, I just got started! wish me luck
I'm a mom to a 10-month-old gurl!

I want to be part of this group!!!!
1st of all kudos mommy2liliy congrats, for breastfeeding after 2yrs!!!
I'm still breastfeeding my 7 month old daughter and planning to continue until she's a year old.
I have loosed 10 lbs mainly by just counting calories. I was wondering if you guys have a problem getting rid of the belly bump. I still look like I am 4 months pregnant!!! Any suggestions? Tips?
oh yeah 39 y/o - 5 feet (Asian very small frame!)
current weight - 115
goal weight - 100 lbs
Hey! I would love to join this group. I am breastfeeding my four month old daughter. I have been doing CC for a about six weeks now and have lost seven pounds!
Current weight 156
Goal weight 144 (or less!)
Looking forward to encouraging you ladies and getting some tips. Wsamemoon, I hear you on the belly bump problem. I had it bad and was trying to do lots of crunches and stuff but I learned here on CC that you can't really target areas for weight loss. As I have been eating better and walking, the pounds are coming off and my belly is getting flatter. Just keep doing your exercise and eat well and it will work!
Question for you all....how many calories do you eat in a typical day??
Hi I would like to join this group too. I just joined today.
current weight 143 5'3"
goal weight 125
I am 30 years old with a 7 month old planning to breastfeed till she is one. I also have a 3 1/2 year old. Looking forward to encouraging and helping everyone.

Hi. This is my first reply on any forum. I'm mom to 4 - 12, 8, 2 1/2 & 3 mos. I've breastfed them all until about 2 yr. Great to have other moms with the same concerns for calories and breastmilk quality.
I'm 5'10, 37yo. I have about 50 lb to lose along with some health concerns for prediabetes.
I gained a lot of weight with my first baby and never took it off. Now it is a must and I'm committed - although I know it is not going to be easy.
I am really looking forward to seeing and feeling like a new me.
Hello girls! I'm in:
*New mama to a one month old
*I'm 36, 5'9, and usually weigh 145. Gained 35 lbs during pregnancy, from 152 to 187.
*Plan to breast feed 6 months to a year
*(really don't like breastfeeding so much, but doing it for babe and me)
*Weight at delivery: 187
*Weight at 1 month post-partum: 162
*Goal weight: 145
*Current calorie consumption: uh, ??, haven't been counting. But would like to start this month and am thinking around 1800-2000. Any thoughts, ladies?
*The dreaded belly bump: Mine is virtually gone, but I'm super flabby with loose muscles and an ugly brown line. And let's not get started about the new "improved" belly button :)
I am really struggling with my weight. I never had a problem gaining or losing weight before. Sometimes I wonder if I quite breastfeeding if the weight would go away. I've had 2 previous surgies (colon resections), leaving horrible scars around my belly button, not to mention the stretch marks and the line going up my mid section. Just looking for a little support and motivation!
welcome mam4all, machatica, and kgrace81
congratulations on the babies and for starting this plan to get healthy!!
i been stickin w/ 1800-1900 cals just to let u know-- what have all of u decided calories wise? what excersizes r u doin?
all of u can do a weigh in day any time weekly biweekly whichever works- i stick w/ weekly to keep me on track
i like my sweets- ice cream cookies ya desserts i always do great untill dessert time-lol
what food do u guys crave?- does anyone notice a difference since bfing?
Hi ladies I would like to join this group. I joined yesterday and started tracking my calories. Which is very hard on me because I love to eat chocolate. But I am trying ti stay on a 1600 cal. a day .
I am the mother of 3 kids. Daughter 13yrs , son 3yrs and I am currently nursing my son how is 3 moths old.
I'm 5'1- 31 yrs old
starting weight 138
my goal is 120
I plan to breastfeed him for 1 yr.
Thank you for starting this group. I wasn't sure that this website, when computing my goal calories, takes into consideration that I'm burning an extra 300-500 calories per day breastfeeding. Here's my stats.
Age:34
Height: 5'3 (small frame)
Start Date and Weight: 5/2/08, 147lbs
Goal Weight: 127
Current Weight - 5/14/08, 142lb
Site Recommends:1600 calories per day when I computed it signing up, however when I go to my tools area and plug in the numbers it recommends 1400 calories per day. So I'm not sure why the numbers are different.
So far as of today I have lost 5lbs in 2 weeks, which seems pretty rapid. I've spent most days hovering around 1400 ca and a few days around 1600. I notice when I consume around 1400 it is reducing my milk supply, so I've decided to stay between 1600-1800, which is still below what I burn in a given day, around 1950.
It is a little more confusing, since I'm breastfeeding and I'm adding 2-3 walks in during the week. I wish they would add breastfeeding as an activity we can log just like any other activities. I'm going to suggest this.
Also I noticed yesterday I was having a either premenstrual cramping, or ovulation cramping, so I hope my dieting isn't going to cause me to start my cycle. I haven't had one yet. My baby is 3 months old. I also have a 4 year old.
Anyone else started there cycle since starting to diet while breastfeeding? Or have a reduction in milk supply?
Goodluck to Everyone,
Donna
hey everyone!!
glad to see so many ppl that breastfeed!! seems like where i live im the only one that thinks its the best thing for your baby :)
im 5'4 and mom to a 6 month old baby boy
i plan to breastfeed at least till hes a year old
as of right now he eats different types of rice cereal (mixed with breastmilk) and fruits and veggies
my starting weight was 170 and now im down to 126!!
i average around 1500 cals per day.. though some days are 1400 or 2000
i walk 30 mins 3-4 times per week.. some days i try to jog or do the ellyptical for about 20 mins
my goal while breastfeeding is 120...
is that too low??? I have had no reduction in milk supply so far and would like to keep it that way :) Ive been counting calories for about 3 months but started on this website a few days ago :) nice to meet all of you!!!
welcome ladies,
wow 5 lbs in 2 weeks is awesome!! congrats for the good work!
and wow 170 to 126 for anoxa- Amazing!! i am curious on how many cals u plan on consuming to maintain since u r almost there!!- thats what i worry about come weaning my son what will my body need to maintain- i havent read much about that yet since i have a ways to go still!
i have read some old post about some women's milk supply going to low so i havent tried to go below 1800 cals but u 3 ladies plan to stick to 1600- that isnt to low? maybe i should try reducing mine some since i have lost some weight anyway-
nutritiondata.com and calorieking say i burn w/ bfing about 2400 cals and i know 1500 reduced my milk supply- but maybe 1700 would be ok to aim for!
i love knowing what other bfing moms are doing it really helps!
hello again everyone!
i think the only reason why im able to stick around the 1400 on most days is because sometimes once in a while i splurge and eat somewhere between 2000-4000 calories.... its not but maybe once every other week that i do that though. maybe im making up for the missed calories. but i still seem to lose weight.
i want to get up to at least 1800 to maintain. i dont know if thats possible yet :) we will see!! yesterday i went all out and ate anything i wanted.. so Ill be paying for that for a few days :) but to me its really important to do that sometimes because then i feel i get to fullfill my cravings :)
shauna are you feeding your baby girl solid foods as well as breastfeeding? i think that once i added solids to my sons diet i stopped burning that 500 cals because im not giving him as much milk. so i dont need to consume that 1500-2000 that breastfeeding/only moms need. but i really dont know for sure how all this stuff works.
good luck everyone!
Anoxa
i tried feeding him some solids but he kept getting constipated so he is basically all breastmilk- although when im out an about w/ him rather then staying at home i feed him less cause he so busy w/ people and other stuff
but i think im goin to shoot for the 1700 and kick up my cardio
its weird though b/c once a baby gets older supposedly we go back to burnin more cals still cause we create more milk ounces wise per feeding so it seems so hard to judge, but i would love love to lose 10 pounds by jun 28 th so im goin to see what i can do- but if milk supply drops i know to eat more since i did firswt try at 1500 cals and my body held on to my fat for 3 weeks till i upped the cals!
thanks
shauna,
my baby was the opposite... he seemed to never poo when i was feeding him only breastmilk... hed go like 10 days without pooping! then i tried feeding him peas one night and right after that he went :) so now i always make sure to give him peas, pears and prunes with his feedings of rice cereal to make sure he dosnt get constipated.
i bet your burning at least 500 cals feeding a 10 month old!! because she needs alot more breastmilk per ounce compared to a younger baby.
gl on your weight loss!!! u can do it!! :)
Anoxa,
it is crazy how diff babies can be
my lil boy actually -lol- not girl is only 5 months still but he like to eat he is my chunky monkey i call him- lol
