Cottage Cheese! and i just got the guts to try it . I put pepper and salsa and it was to good to even explain. SO if your scared of it just give it a try. After the first bite the texture doesnt bother you that much anymore. Well for MOST people it wont =] & nbsp; &nbs p;
tagging this thread. if anyone has any other favorite ways to eat it, please share..because I've never tried it and I sort of maybe want to..lol. But what kind of cottage cheese do you buy?? Are there low fat/calorie versions and are they worth it?
umm my mom bought these little Yogurt container shaped one where 4 are stuck togther in a pod for 2.50
i tried it with Hummus today .. AMAZING .. The Red pepper hummus.. no other hummus exists to me! lol its amazing
andd i put some on ww bread and grilled it in the george forman and it made a pretty good alternative to a grilled cheese! &n bsp; its was pretty amazing ...
Always add pepper though unless your going for a sweet flavor with fruit or something.
I Highly recommend it and i have only had it today! lol. and i had it several times today and went and bough at tub of it because i liked it that well. it reminds me of the stuff in Lasagna... like the ricotta stuff? Sorta.
Its way better than you would think and i bet with some spagetti sauce in it... with some Noodles..... MAN &nb sp; i need to get on it and try these other ideas i have =]
Oh yeah to your question. they have fat free and reduced fat and Full fat basically just like milk....idk what the small cerd and large cerd thing ment but they have those options too . they sell it with Fruit and without .. i recommend plain =]
Try mixing it with a little bit of peanut butter & cinnamon & putting it on a whole wheat english muffin, crackers or with an apple - delicious way to get a peanut butter (and protein) fix!
I like low fat cottage cheese with spinach, tomatoes, and garlic. It kills my pizza cravings (sometimes). I've tried it with sweeter mix-ins, and I thought it was totally nasty.
Oh I am just the opposite. I love mine with peaches or pineapple!! But I do like it plain too!
I eat it plain from the container (500g margarine looking container). Personally I don't recommend anything below 2%, to me the taste totally goes bad and for like 10 calories less a serving it's not worth it to me!
I've eaten it with canned tuna and sardines on toast, it was alright. Never tried it with anything sweet, just seem weird to me.
hot sauce & bell peppers! yumm <3
I have a question.............. i cant find a cottage cheese without numbers and gums and stuff in there......... does everyone eles find this ? do you know a all natural brand?
cottage cheese grosses me out. I finally gave it a try about a year ago and thought I would gag. Just not my thing. bleck.......
I like friendhip whipped 1% and make a small bowl shape-put some small chopped apple in the center and top with any kind of light & fit dannon yogurt--its great :-)
I love cottage cheese. But I stick with the 4% -- it's worth the calories and sat fat, to me. I like it plain or with fruit or berries.
i like to mix my cottage cheese with pineapple......yum! wish I had some cottage cheese right about now.
I tried cottage cheese with peaches or pinapple or some fruit a few years ago...and I almost threw up!
I hated the stuff, but haven't tried it since. This site makes me want to though! I probably will soon, when I get up the nerve!
Love it plain..
I like to mix in pumpkin as well, and with apples
My favorite thing to do with it is put a spoonful on a piece of bread, then put on a spoonful of pumpkin and some cinnamon. SOOO good!
I also use it on my homemade mini pizza things in place of regular cheese
Cottage cheese plain in the bomb! Like mentioned above, don't go for the lowfat versions. The taste is just not worth the small save in calories and fat. The best thing to eat with cottage cheese is dill pickles!! Just get the spears, take a bite and eat just the seeds and then use it like a spoon after that. It's sooo good. Sounds nasty, I know, but check it out. Never tried it with anything sweet, I'm more of a salt fanatic.
I like cottage cheese. Most of the time I eat it plain (half-fat or full fat, don't like no-fat) or just some chopped spring onion. It is also tasty on baked potatoes. I don't mind fruit in it but I don't like it as much with fruit.
