I was wondering if anyone wanted to set a goal of losing at least one pound per week until Summer (end of May). I don't know about anyone else, but I've put on a few of the "freshmen 15", although I'm a sophmore, and really, its only been about 7.
Anyone up for it?
Well, I'm saying that the goal is "at least one pound" per week. Personally, I'd like to lose more each week as well, but I am also one who gets discouraged if I don't reach my goal!
I'm also going to try and get more situps in my routine as well.
I've still got to be on maintenance until Feb. 25th, but we can start as soon as everyone wants! How do we want to organize this? I'm thinking, we can support each other as needed, and weigh in approximately once a week? (Of course, this is open to more if you need it).
Good Luck guys!
I would love to join this too,, My overall goal is a little later in the summer, but I think that this would really help me. ![]()
I'm up for it!
I haven't really gained weight so far this year (freshman year of university
) but I've lost a lot of tone. I'd really like to change that.
Definitely interested! I have about 15lbs to lose by summer / to be at my goal weight for bikini season!
Can't wait to start- how are we going to be doing this?
Defo with you, though I'm more on the toning than the slimming, I dream of wearing a bikini! Me and the b/f might be going to Turkey/Croatia for the summer and I would very much like to not feel like a pasty, waddling tourist (okay, I will still be pasty and a tourist, but less of the waddle!)
How do we join in?
xxxx
i want to lose about 10 to 15 lbs...to look good in that bikini!! lol
i definitely wanna be a part of this! (: my goal was seriously one lb a week until june 5th. so we're much the same!
we can do it (: no doubt!
Goal 1-2 lbs a week for a month or two (depending on if it is 1 or 2) and toning as well- I used to have a female light 6 pack and I've lost it! I'm going to the gym 4-5 days a week for 45-60 min of cardio and some home muscle work on the floor. Cardio is also limited to the treadmill and the rowing machine- elliptical only if Ive done the first two and am trying to drag out my workout into a longer one. I'll also be using Olay nighttime tanning lotion (Im against real tanning) to give myself some color and an illusion of definition ;)
@ onyouthfulcynism: your lean muscle mass measure might be off- it is really not a very reliable tool if done online. You have a larger bone structure which cannot be changed, and it may be that you do have a fair bit of muscle. Just keep losing until you seem to feel that that is your comfortable weight. I find the lack of height being taken into account is a major issue with that test as that has a major effect on lean body mass.
onyouthfulcynicism- Please don't try to get down to 0% body fat! You will literally kill yourself! An extremely lean bf% for GUYS is 3-4%, and since girls have hips, not to mention boobs, an extremely lean bf% is around 9% I believe, with healthy ranging between 13% and 18%. You may find that as your bf% drops, you are actually more comfortable in your own skin, showing off definition, etc. Or, you may find that as you lose fat, you also bring some muscle loss along for the ride (very difficult not to do). I'd set a goal, but be flexible.
Since it looks like we have a good crew going, how about starting this coming week? I'll create a post in the games and challenges section labeled "Slim-By-Summer Challenge". I think that we should also set other goals, not just weight loss goals. Something like "sit-ups" or "exercise" or "calorie-goal" or "water drinking" etc. Things that will help us achieve our weight-loss goals. I'll go create that topic and put instructions on it! Good Luck!
That sounds great!!! I shall run over and check challanges board!

-high fives-
Also, I'm joining. I really want to be able to look great in a bikini this year! <3 And, let's see, at least one pound a week... that puts me right at my goal by the end of May! Let's see if I can do it! I'm pumped!
Do I have to weigh myself?
You do not have to weigh yourself to use Calorie Count. A weight check can be a reminder of negative judgments you make on yourself... Read more
