I'm going to be cleaning this afternoon - including washing floors, polishing furniture, doing laundry, cleaning the bathroom...
Would you count this as exercise?

Normally, I don't log my housework as far as the everyday stuff, BUT if I'm doing something that I don't do on a daily basis, I'll log it. Like yesterday, I cleaned my bathroom floor on my hands and knees. That's not something I do every day. It does burn more calories and gives your arms a pretty good workout, too. So I did log the scrubbing of the floor, but I didn't log loading the dishwasher and stuff that I normally do each day.
That is how I log things also. I live a pretty sedentary life but that does not mean that I am going to log things such as showering or loading the dishwasher. I only log what actual exercise I do and cleaning house can be a real work out for sure.
Just look up the meaning of EXERCISE in the dictionary, and you'll get the PRECISE MEANING.
According to my dictionary: To train by use; cause to act; exert, to perform, to carry out duties, to actively employ the muscles or mind - to undergo training, to indulge in an activity for health or development.
Moving about as you did, is at least moderate exercise; building a house in 24 hours would be EXTREME EXERCISE (particularly if you did it all by yourself). Diane - Nevada
But I do admit that I log mall shopping! Because our local mall is HUGE and when I'm there I walk very briskly from store to store. My favorites are all spread out anyway. I always find I'm completely starving after 5 hours at the mall, so i suspect I am burning calories. I once even ran "mapmywalk," googling in our mall, and estimating how far it was to walk from one end to the other... it was substantial enough to log!
