The Bank for Losers
This is a fun way to keep yourself motivated to do certain things. These things will help you in your journey to be healthier. At the end of the month, the person with the most "money" in their bank will be the winner!
Here is a breakdown of what you will need to do to get "money" in your bank:
Daily
Water: +$.50 per 8 oz.
Exercise: +$1.00 per 10 minutes
Reach your personal calorie goal: +$2.00
Update the thread: +$1.50
Weekly
Weight Loss: +$5.00 per 1 lb
Penalties
Weighed more than once per week: -$2.00
Went over your personal calorie limit: -$3.00
No exercise: -$1.50
At the end of the month, the person with the highest amount of "money" in their bank will get a certificate of recognition from me. It will be very professional looking as I am quite experienced in making these types of certificates. I will email it to you and then you can print it off and hang it up for everyone to see! Or just keep it on your computer as a reminder of how far you came.
If this goes well, we will do this every month. :-)

I hope this will help clear up any confusion. I'll also keep track of your total amounts on the top of the board to help you out.
By far the most interest I've had in a challenge. I will need to see if I have enough time to do all the calculations everyday. I'll get back to you on that. =)
Do any beverages count as water? Tea? Coffee? Diet Soda? Crystal lite?
I need to weigh every day.. so that will be a problem for me. =\
I know weighing every day is bad if you have an ED or something, but it really keeps me on track and doesn't discourage me if it goes up.
Although I weigh every day like a bazillion times so I'll always lose that 2$ a week.... its not 2$ for every time you weigh, is it?
I'll absolutely join this-- this will also be an experiment to see what happens to me when i weigh in once a week vs. per day ' v '!
I've been needing a kick in the pants to stay at kcal goal... and a super bonus when I lose those lbs!D
This is totally awesome. I always joke that my calorie limit is like my money allowance for the day and certain foods are just too "expensive". Lol Right up my alley and this starts 2 weeks before the other challenge I'm in ends. Hmmm....

Yay! We've got some interest! Now to answer those questions that have come up...
1) The only things that count as water are things that are not carbonated, so Diet Soda wouldn't count as water.
2) If you weigh everyday, then you just lose $2 a week. If you weighed 50 x weekly (lol extreme, I know!), then you'd just lose $2 a week.
Another note, just to be sure it's understood... The "money" isn't real. You can always take that amount of money and put it away for a new outfit or whatnot, but I can't afford to send it out. :-( However, I will be making the certificate of recognition and emailing it you, and you can always print it out & frame it... as a reminder of how far you came.
If we get enough interest in this, I'll do it each month. If not, then this will be the only month for it.
I will also be keeping track of the "money" in everyone's bank so that everyone will know where they are as far as being the "Biggest Banker".
Oh, and you don't have to post every day. You can keep track of it at home & then post it all at once on Fridays (or whatever day), but try to keep us updated once a week. Don't forget to add on the $1.50 each time you do post here though! :-)
I'm just afraid I'll be all gung-ho about it one week, then.. like forget to do it one day. I get a little spazzy. I spend plenty of time on the forum, you'd think I'd be able to remember to do things like log my calories XD.
I don't think any one expected you to send them money =)

Count me in! I think its an excellent idea. At the end of every week or so I'll put the amount of money I earned aside and I'll buy myself a little treat for my hard work! (new clothes, a dvd, book... etc).
