I am really making this forum to be able to connect with my friends who have joined recently like me.
I wouldn't mind if anyone else join or commented.

i don't think losing weight has anything to do with religion.
i was coming here to say just that.
^ I don't really think it has anything to do with losing weight being associated with Christianity. It's more about connecting with Christians across the web while supporting each other in the goal to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle.
Much like this forum, for Teens, has nothing to do with losing weight. But this forum enables teens from across the web who share the same goals to connect with each other and support each other in the process of becoming healthier.
You get what I'm saying?
Anyway, gak85, I think that's a great idea.
It's not a forum, it's just a post.
Plus, I have seen some for gays, atheists, christians...if you don't want to be a part then don't be!

I don't see a problem with people of a similar religion, or similar whatever else, wanting to gather.

but can you tell me what it has to do with weight loss?
I don't see it in the weight loss forum either...It's in the young calorie counters forum, which they are young calorie counters so...
I've seen many other things that have nothing to do with weight loss in this forum.

They are gathering to offer support for weight loss

but why would they need support from a religious perspective? sorry i just cant see why people should gather into threads based on their religions.
edit: i can, however see people gathering into a post based on their religions, only if it had nothing to do with losing weight.
I don't know, but I don't see a need to bash them for wanting to gather with people that have common views/beliefs/interests
lol, im not bashing! you just cant see my expression. haha i just dont see what problem christian calorie counters face, that say, an atheist wouldnt. can you? i can see a muslim or jewish person making this thread because they have to avoid certain foods. but why would you have a "christian view" on losing weight.
(btw, thanks for the popcorn suggestion! ive had 3/4 cup kernels today, i LOVE it!) :)
Anyways, I don't know why it would be a necessity to make the post, but why not if they want to? I can understand that it might be encouraging to have others who believe the same as you there to back you up. I mean, if someone is having struggles and another says they will pray for them, then it might make a difference to that individual since they believe prayer works, while others may just find it offensive.
Maybe just to have a safe place to share beliefs AND weight loss? I don't know =P
I just think they should be able to make a post about it if they'd like to, that's all =)
Your spiritual well being has everything to do with your physical well being. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, if the spirit is not right, neither will be the body. Spiritual warfare has played a large part in my weight loss. Also, Paul tells us to be encouraging and admonishing one another. If it weren't for my brothers and sisters in Christ encouraging me along the way, I certainly wouldn't have lost the 60 lbs I've lost!
Hey all! I've only be around here for a week now and would love sharing with a few others.
I have recently homeschooled, now sending son to a private school, making more time for myself and all the neglected house chores! (Darn!!)
Does anyone have any good scriptures about fasting or weight control? We went to a new church this Sunday and the pastor was talking about fasting and how being a member of the body of Christ means controling our bodies and not our bodies controling us. Just curious! I wasn't able to write down the verses he quoted...
For the record, we have not yet nor do we have intentions of restricting YCC to weight loss only subjects.
IMO, music, movies, exams, majors, dating, etc all have nothing to do with weight loss. And yet those topics abound in this forum. Clearly this isn't the 'how young adults lose weight' forum. ;) Obviously most topics do pertain to weight loss, but far from all of them do.
That being said, so long as it stays respectful, stays within the posting guidelines and relates in some way to being young, it's acceptable in this forum.
Carry on. :D
