Young Calorie Counters

Looking at this site I'd say there were two groups of younger calorie counters. 13-17 and 18-25. I was wondering if anyone in that second group would like to start a topic.

I myself am 19 and while I am young I don't feel I really "fit in" with 13 year olds and such as I've pretty much already been through that.

Any thoughts?

I'm twenty, and teenagers annoy me.  Haha, sorry.  I remember when I was a teenager and yeah, even then my teenage friends annoyed the hell out of me.  When I got to be a bit older, around seventeen and eighteen, they started to be not-so-bad.

I remember when I was nineteen a few months ago.. I couldn't wait and was counting down the days until my birthday so I could shout, "I HATE TEENAGERS!" and not be one.

I just want a topic of over 18's, because no matter what anyone says there is a huge difference between say a 15 year old and a 20 year old. Hell, theres a difference betweeen a 16 year old and an 18 year old.

i'm 20!! the only teenager i can stand is my brother. i hated most of the people i went to high school with... but i was good at pretending. i love being 20, i'm with you cellulite!

Oh snap! I'm 19 and will be 20 in March, so I have to wait a few months to say most teenagers annoy me...and all my friends are older I hate being 19, it sounds littttle.

Well, age is just a number.. There are plenty of 40-year-olds who are still at a 13-year-old mentality, and some 16-year-olds who probably have more wisdom than some people ever will. To me, it seems immature to start drawing boundaries between people where none are really necessary. We can all learn from each other, right?

I'm 25 and I have to say I don't like MOST teenagers either.  I didn't when I was one.  Unfortunately, my husband seems to think he's still about 16.  I've always been quite a bit more mature for my age so I just never really got along with teenagers.  So I think it's a good idea to have a group for us older young people. 

I've never had anything against anyone solely based upon how old they were. I don't hate teenagers, and while I'm at it, I don't hate senior citizens either. Physical maturity has nothing to do with my opinion of a person. Mental maturity is where it's at.

Then again, I'm still seventeen, so maybe my opinion doesn't count for anything here :-)

...I actually have no idea how old any of my friends are. I'm just grateful for a group of people that don't irritate the heck out of me.


However, I'm pretty sure the point of this calling was to gather people of like-bodied individuals. Well that segregation doesn't work to well either! We might as well start calls for 6' 1" males who have blonde hair and blue eyes to compare metabolic rates :-P

Age is a factor, sure, but narrowing it down to just one variable and disregarding other factors is... well... me reading too much into it! Bah. Stupid teenagery me, yeah? Yeah.

any other college students out there?

I'm sorry but during early years age is important. There are most likely 16 year old kids with bounds of maturity... and if those 16 year olds are going off to uni, moving out and worrying about how they're gonna scrounge up money for next year... then they are free to contribute. Fact is I doubt there are many out there. There are always age boundaries. I am 19, working 2 jobs, applying to uni and i want to talk to others in my position and so i figured asking people my age would help.

Or even dietry wise, would you give the same advice to a 15 year old that you would a 19 year old?

It's got nothing to do with maturity. It's the simple fact that age does effect certain topics.

that is nothing like saying you hate black/white people...  it is still beyond stupid, but it isnt like racism in any real sense.

i do love this holier than thou type of community we have here... COUNT ME IN! *thumbs up*

Alright you bring up that... show me any plight with agism that rivals that of any minority based off of race....  go ahead i'll wait.

and that is on the level of hangings, murder, genocide, rape, slavery and poor social class how exactly?

And just to kind of put a nail in the coffin...  We have all experienced our teen years (or will provided we live and dont die), each of us knows what its like to be a teen and what have you.  Unlike being a specific race or of a certain social class.   Granted each experience (of ours) is different the *basic* idea of what being a teen is about is similar.


Again im not deffending this behavoir i think doubting anyone imput based on age is stupid.  Its elitism at its worst... which really is a shame... if you are gonna be elitist have standards.
