People keep swearing by calorie counting but all its been for me is a waste of my time. I can think of tons of better, seemingly meaningless things I could have been doing all this time instead of looking at the back of a nutrition label, or logging in my food intake on this stupid site. Its gotten me nowhere.

The only time I want food is when I'm attempting to follow some dumb calorie counting. Since Sunday I've been eating what I want and in insane amounts but really I don't even have to. I don't care about food when I can have it. Calorie counting just creates this dumb obsession with food, only because it tells you what you can't have. So know I don't care anymore. and i think you people shouldn't either. this is all dum. its just food, gosh. its so stupid getting excited over something like "oh whoppe i passed up a sliver of cake today" or "oh gee goolly i had an exquisite 100 cal pack of donuts!!! made my day."

what a waste of life and sanity.

i lost 20 pds over 2 months only to gain half back in 2-3 days of overeating? thats dumb. this is dumb. notworth it at all. living and being normal is so much more benifical than knowing how many tenths of a gram of protein you recieve at each meal.

if you have peace and happiness doing what you are now doing that's great.

I personally really need the help to get to where I want to be.

To each his/her own
I'm sorry you feel that way, pinthin.  Wish you best in your endeavors.
just one question....if you can think of better things to do than waste your time here, then why are you wasting your time writing such a negative post??? If you dont like it here then LEAVE!

cause im waiting for a movie to load online and this kills some time.
we overeat because we dont count! this is a better understanding of how my body works and how my body digests food and how much nutrition i need to keep my body going!

sure eat what ever you want - good luck with your heat attack!
I so should not have opened up this thread - now I am even more bummed about the whole thing.  An already frustrating morning just became times 10.  Thanks a bunch.........

I feel sorry for you.
If it doesn?t work for you, that?s fine and that is your decision.  Sorry to hear that you think it?s a waste.  But I definitely don?t think that it is a ?a waste of life and sanity?.

For me, CC works and I am happy with my progress to date ? two pounds from my goal and 65 pounds lost to date.  I find this site a useful tool, and a place to go for encouragement and strength.

All the best in your journey!
So keep overeating and gain back all of those 20lbs and then some, but I'm gonna keep counting my calories and continue to lose weight while eating my 100 calorie packs of cupcakes.
sure eat what ever you want - good luck with your heat attack!

look i'm 18, and at a normal weight, and probably would still look a whole lot skinnier than you even on my "fattest" day. the point is i don't even really care about eating food when i'm not calorie counting, which means i don't even feel the need to binge or overeat--cause i don't feel burdened by knowing i "can't" have something do to a calorie limit. so really, calorie counting is what triggers overeating/unhealthy choices--which are the things that lead to heart attacks. which i am probably more likely NOT to get by dropping all this sorry counting.
Not everyone here is obsessed.  I live my life and I am happy and i am certainly not obsessed with food.  I am learning how to live a healthier life.  I am sorry that you have an ED but maybe you require some professional help.
I feel sorry for you.

yeah me too since like 6 months of my life went down the drain for the sake of nothing.
Would someone please just shut this person down!  How pathetic and I don't think we all need to be slammed and insulted??????????
I am sorry that you have an ED

um. nowhere in my post do i remember confessing to having an "ED"
Don't blam the site, you have only yourself to blame.  Are you not responsible for your own actions
PINTHIN...I dont know...if I felt so negativley towards something then I would go look at a website I liked while I was waiting or better yet...I would go exercise. I could think of a million other things I would do besides go to a site and basically tell everyone on there who believes in this that they are dumb. Are you just mad cuz you didnt see the results you wanted??? Maybe you didnt try this long enough or maybe it is your negative attitude that stopped this from working for you. I know it has helped me tremendously and I dont think I or anyone else here is dumb for using this tool. Things dont change over night..this is a learning process. The process of learning how to change your eating habits to see the results you want to see. It takes time. I have learned soooo much from being here and I am learning how to live a healthy lifestyle. If you want to eat insane amounts of food in two days, that is your choice of lifestyle, not mine, but please dont judge me or anyone else here because you are unhappy with yourself.
Would someone please just shut this person down!  How pathetic and I don't think we all need to be slammed and insulted??????????

i'm not slamming anyone personally. why can others vent their frusturations and i can't vent mine just because they don't go with the majority? that's kind of biased.
SO WHAT THE ARE YOU DOING ON THIS WEBSITE!??????
You didn't have to confess.  By various posts its kind of obvious that you have some serious food issues.
Pinthin, 21.5 BMI is very healthy BMI. It's where I'm at, too. If you lost 20 lbs in 2 months, I have to say, that seems excessive for someone close to goal. So maybe your body and brain are telling you something important: you are cutting too many calories and losing too fast?

It's taken me since January to drop 8 lbs, about 9 inches, two dress sizes, and 5.2% body fat. Slow and steady wins the race. This is a lifestyle change, I agree, who wants to live their life obsessed with food?

Maybe it's time you concentrated on the exercise part of the equation, to build and tone muscle,  and not so much about the calories?
SO WHAT THE ARE YOU DOING ON THIS WEBSITE!??????

i was "calorie counting"
