| Clean Eating Challenge | ||

| Ok, there seems to be a mysterious condition going around that is causing sabotage to our eating. I know I'm not alone here when I admit that my eating this past little while leaves a lot to be desired, causing slight weight gain after such hard work to lose it. I also know, that I am the same person who was practically flawless in my eating for like almost 90 days straight, so I know I can get ahold of this - who's with me?? There is no deadline for sign-ups, anyone can join at any time!! All you have to do is check in once a week (at least) & let us know how you're doing. If/when you "cheat", simply let us know & I will restart your start date. A cheat is defined as whatever a cheat would mean to you personally, whether it be going over your calories, bingeing, not eating enough, too many treats, etc. We all know when we've cheated, so just be honest with yourself Let's be honest with each other & keep each other eating clean k? The PRIZE to the winner? Well that's easy - weight loss!!!!!!!!! (or maintenance for those at that stage!) Let's do this! Dee ************************************************ Here's the list of all signed up & the new rules: (let me know if I missed you) If you lose your mind & cheat, just let me know. Then you can re-start from the next day. I'll simply unbold your name, along with updating your new start date. After being clean for a week after a re-start, I'll re-bold your name. So you always have a chance to feel like you are succeeding. Also, if you just don't feel like you want to partake in the challenge anymore, can you let me know so I can remove your name from the list? Thanks!! Anyone not checking in for one week (December 25 - December 31) will be removed from the challenge. Good luck all! People's names in bold have been going the longest or have not restarted for at least a week - way to go!!!!!!!!

I'M IN...I need this challenge more than ever right now, as I seem to have caught the binge bug recently. I too have been a 'clean eater' for the most part - and just can't understand why I fell off.
NO MORE...I'M UP FOR THIS CHALLENGE...CLEAN EATING, HERE I COME...No more binging for me :) Current Weight - 153 Doesn't matter if we go month-to-month, or not |

| What exactly constitutes "Clean Eating".? Just wondering what I would be getting myself into. | ||

carie87 - clean eating pretty much just means staying within your goal calorie range and not having anything that you would consider a "cheat" thing or something you're not allowed to have.
Individual's regular "allowable" cheat items , are of course permitted. Basically, if you screw up on your diet. The idea is to go as long as possible with perfect eating, whatever that is to you! Hoep this helps! |

For me, clean eating is staying in calorie range, and eating foods I would only normally eat. Like a DQ blizzard is not one of them!! Clean eating is also not binging.
I think we need to report how we've done each day - just to stay in touch. |

| I'll jump in. Right now I'm switching over to maintenance rather than weight loss, and there's a huge temptation to fill the extra calories with junky stuff. I really don't want to go down that road and would love some group accountability! | ||

| Definitely in! Recovering from Eds healthily is the same thing really. Trying not to swing the other way and make up for a years worth of food limiting. It hurts! (i've tried). I just want to eat regularly which I can't do right now. It's all or nothing. So def. can i join | ||

yes, let's check in daily & report. that way we can motivate each other!
lysistrata - oh great you're at maintenance, good for you. This will be perfect then!!! You can help us all to know how it goes once we reach maintenance. How many cals are you trying to stay around for maintenance, or are you still figuring that out. |

| Oh I want to join in, but can tomorrow be exempt for me, its my birthday! We're going out for dinner, and I have to shout morning tea at work... I have planned nice healthy low-fat muffins, but am also making lolly cake and choc coconut brownies. It will be terribly hard to resist! | ||

Oh birthdays can be the only exception, but only if you use restraint and only have a little bit. One small piece, K?? Thanks for being honest.

| deejlb - I'm aiming for 1800 calories, 2000 on days when I practice yoga or do something else strenuous (like work in the garden). I stopped logging about a week ago and I think it was a mistake, as I'm finding it easier and easier to justify very bad food choices ... so this will be a great way for me to keep myself in line! | ||

| it would probably better (for me) if we had a challenge to stand on one foot balancing spinning plates (i might last longer )... but i'm in!! maybe this will help me stay "good" anything ought to help!!!! | ||

Oh I guess I shouldn't make an executive decision without consulting the team, is everyone alright about allowing a small piece of cake or something if it's your birthday?
lysistrata - I was thinking when I get to maint. mode I'd be around 1800 also. I think when you first start out, keeping track might be a good idea. We get so used to knowing about how many cals we were eating (like 1200 or whatever) but we may not be so used to eyeing 1800/2000. Good luck with your maintenance! I hope to be there in a month or jsut a bit more!! Dee |

| Yes, absolutely. I will use restraint! that reminds me I better ring my mum and tell her NOT to make me a big cream-filled sponge cake like she normally does! | ||

| I've never participated in a challenge before but I've had a real problem lately with eating things I probably shouldn't. I'm in. | ||
| #16 | Apr 30 2007 22:48 | |
| oh, i want to try | ||
| #17 | Apr 30 2007 23:00 | |
| This sounds great! Just what I need. But I do Body for Life, and I am allowed 1 cheat day per week. Usually Saturdays. So as long I stick with that plan? The other 6 days are quite strict, so this is right up my alley!!! | ||
| #18 | Apr 30 2007 23:10 | |
|
yep carie87 - so long as your program allows for one cheat day a week, you're ok doing that. just if you did any other cheat than that, you'd be disqualified
Hey everybody, maybe we should have a Prize/reward. ANy ideas??? |

I am SO in..... I was doing well, and then I binged on junk over the weekend. I feel gross today! I really need the accountability.
As for the prize/reward.... fitting in to my cute jeans is reward enough for me!!!! |

| I'm making my reward a cut & colour! My hair is getting to the stage where its needing some attention.. fuzzy ends and roots showing...eek! There's my motivation! | ||
