Welcome to BA. My name is Nicole and I'm a binger.

i decided that it could be helpful to have a forum for those of us trying to recover from this evil thing called binge eating disorder (BED). Whenever you have success... post here! Whenever you have struggles... post here! need support to stay out of the cookie jar?.... post here!

i'll be posting my intake of calories everyday in hopes that showing all of you what i eat will keep me from OVER EATING.

anyone with the same struggles??

I was definately struggling through the dreaded BED, before I found CC, but the site is helping me alot.
but, when I do get an urge to grab a big bag of chips or something of the sort, spend an hour first drinking about a litre of water, a cup every 15 minutes, and by the time the hours up if I still want the chips, I have some, but usually not many for 2 reasons, 1) too full of water, and 2) too busy running to the bathroom :P well.. it works for me. and I get 1/2 my water for the day ^_^

I definitely have that problem.  I'm not really recovered, I've just found ways to cope.  I buy those 100 calorie bags of pretzels for example, then I eat just one.  I'll buy little packs of cookies as well, ice cream bars instead of a bowl of ice cream, that sort of thing.  Luckily, I don't tend to binge at meals, just on snacks.  And one thing I've noticed is that I can start without even realizing it.  I was making cookies for my kids and suddenly realized I'd had 5 or so without even thinking about it!  I've always been really frustrated that psychologist types focus almost exclusively on anorexia/bulimia and not at all on bingeing.

yeah, i don't have problems with meals either. they are actually extremely healthy.... i'm just a big snacker (esp at night). yesterday i got up to 4200.... about 3000 of that in about 1.5 hours

*ashamed...*

wow... thank you SOOOO much united! i read some of the links in your profile and they were really interesting. They also confimed that i'm definitely a binge eater!!

although i wish nobody else had to deal with this, in a way, i'm glad that there are others out there that have this problem. it's good to know i'm not alone. i know we can beat this those. i started this a "bingers anonymous" because it must be take 1 DAY AT A TIME.

i know why i binge... i'm bored. i overeat when i'm stressed and upset too but most days i am just studying and need to be chewing. i guess i feel like i need a distraction from studying.

congrats on being day 2 binge free! make tomorrow day 3!! today is my day 1. i feel strong. i feel like i've defeated a monster today. hopefully my fight with the monster will become easier everyday.

I'll weigh in for today.  No bingeing, yet anyway.  I ran all day, oatmeal for breakfast, lean cuisine and green beans for lunch, salad, shrimp, potato and bread for dinner, plus some chips, the start of a binge, I stopped myself.  I had popcorn at a movie too, but it was short of a binge too, I told my son to move away from me so I couldn't reach it anymore.  Those are my coping techniques.  If I'd been alone, I'd have just thrown away the popcorn, I do that frequently.

Not the greatest diet day because I had a special dinner tonight at a great restaurant and that movie, one or the other I could have worked with, 2 in one day puts me over, I figure I had 2000 calories, which isn't horrible at all.

today was a fairly good day...

Fat - 33.6% (52 grams)
Protein - 16.5% (57 grams)
Carbohydrates - 49.9% (173 grams)
Alcohol - 0.0%
Other - 0.0%

Daily Sodium Intake - 1,464 mg
Daily Cholesterol Intake - 163 mg
Daily Fiber Intake - 33 grams

that's 1,284 cals

my fat is a little bit high b/c i ate at marble slab w/ my boyfriend and ALL their sugar free frozen yogurt was liquid. i got ice cream... i however don't consider this a binge though b/c when i binge.... i eat  more than one food and i would NEVER eat in front of someone. i actually had room to eat it b/c i didn't get a lunch break at work (which sucks) but i ate breakfast at 8:00 and didn't eat my next meal til 5:00. i felt like i was allowed to have ice cream to make up for lost cals :P

i'm glad to see everyone else is doing well! let's make it another binge free day tomorrow!

it funny... really.... i just had a LAUGH OUT LOUD moment.

i got on the site and logged my nectarine and the next thing i new i was thinking about eating more. i looked on this thread... i opened the newly restocked kitchen cabinets... i saw my all time favorite binge snacks (honey nut cheerios and peanuts)... i got back on this thread and grabbed a liter of water. now i'm literally laughing out loud at the fact that i was thinking about ruining my 3rd day of binge free for stupid snacks. i feel so great now! i'm so glad i didn't ruin my day for stupid peanuts!

i ate lasagna at the boyfriends house today. yummmmmo (as my 1.5 year old neice would say). it was meatless and made w/ reduced fat cheese. i got a big salad too. it's nice to know that i can use my calories on yummy lunches and dinners instead of snacks that make me feel yucky!

i hope everyone is having a great day so far!

Hi, my name is Christina and I'm a binger.

It's been more than a week since I have done it, and I am hoping I finally have it under control. I think about it though, but so far I have been able to stop myself. It's nice knowing I am not alone and there are people who really understand. I started a food journal last week and it's been a real eye opener for me. Everyday, at the top of the page I write an inspirational quote. So far my favorite is, "The beauty of daily renewal is that no matter how yesterday went, you have the opportunity to improve on it and better yourself today.", by Bob Greene.

Tinytot, I am glad that you didn't ruin your day with stupid peanuts too! Keep up the good work!:) I am soooo glad I ran across this post. I am glad there people who understand, and are here to support each other.:)

Have a great night everyone!!:)

Hi everyone, I'm a binger, and I thought I was doing well in overcoming it, then I had a few bad days, but I know that overall, I've definitely improved and hope to keep on improving.

i'm a binger...

i find that when i'm thinking more and more about eating healthy, i become obsessed with food, then i feel as though i'm depriving myself and i get upset and pretty soon the entire chip bag is gone...

does anyone know that feeling??? well, right now, i'm about to start my period and have spent the last two days giving into impulse eating, and now i'm disgusted with myself...thanks for letting me vent...now i'm going to drink a glass of water!! :)
