Previous thread is getting big, and it's high summer.
An ongoing group for people who want to lose weight, and who are willing to weigh themselves every Saturday and report here to the group.
I'll start off with my stats: 55, female, United States, started CC August 26, 2007 weighing 218#, down from 235# when I started a weight loss plan set up by Kaiser Permanente, and with a goal weight of 150#. I now weigh 169.6#, as of today, Saturday August 2, 2008.
Just bumping this thread up...
I'm 58. Started at 213, in February. Now at 183; goal is 145. I am hoping slow but steady wins the race. Or should I say slow but real, with actual changes of habits. I walk the dog daily, am using a Wii for balance and yoga, and know I have to ramp up the exercise. I am doing really well on eating, simply by cutting back, and using this program to really count calories. This was a typical weight gain over many years, fueled by some life events that made the last couple of years worse. Found some edge of control to try and reclaim myself in these past few months.
Has anyone tried Stickk.com? You wager money which can go to a good charity, and anti-charity (csomething you are really against) or a person. You set goals; mine is weight loss and exercise, and then I had a little side one to declutter some of my house. I sign up for two month strecthes, and offer up about five bucks a week that I will lose my weight or my money will go to a charity I hate, and so far it has been a great motivator. I won't surrender a dime, and that gets me out of my chair and into exercise mode when nothing else will.
Well, vacation was great! I don't think I over did it too much but had some high calorie days. I did work out most days and even ran one morning to hopefully counter my vacation eating and drinking. Not brave enough to weigh in this weekend. Next week will give me a better idea of where I'm really at weight wise. I know this week will be bad due to bloating.
Welcome, mitt! I'm going to look at that site today. Sounds interesting at the least...and could be a very real incentive to me. Recently I've been using SparkPeople a lot--it has the groups that haven't come to fruitiion here. But I still count calories here, as all my foods and recipes for almost a year are here.
Staps! Even on weeks when you gain, overall you're getting healthier, as we all are. I rode my bike just for pleasure yesterday, not back and forth to the train as usual--couldn't have done that last year.
Hi CoraHart here and i'm willing to weigh in on Sat. This a.m.165 my goal is 150 by Oct 15, 2008
I'm 14, and I just started this August. I'm at 122, last time I checked, and my goal weight is 115.
I'm eating more healthy, and keeping grains limited to breakfast only. I also need to up my calories. I mapped my calories out, a week before joining this site and found that all my life, I've been eating less than a 1000 cals. Yikes! (No wonder I'm short....)
Anyway, I've also upped my water intake, to lose my water weight, and exercise more often now. I run/walk for half an hour and play badmington for 2 hours or so.
Weighing in every Sat. will be tough for now, as my scale broke. I'll buy another this weekend and weigh in every Sat. Anyone able to recommend a good and accurate scale??

Heya,
So this is our new weigh in thread yeah?
Hello to new people that have joined!
I'm lucy, 18, female, UK, started at 185 but thankfully am now 168.
My goal weight eventually is 154 but for the time being it is 164.
Great idea dinarly and welcome mitt, coralhart, reaper, and liquiddiet.
I'll weigh in now as i'm here but if have time will check in tomorrow too.
168- 2lb loss from last week hurrah!!
Gd luck everyone and so glad it's all back up and running!!!
xx
Ok. I finally found the new thread.
I'm female, started CC December 2007 weighing 165 (my start weight) and got down to 145. However, summer has caused me to gain weight up to 150. My goal weight is 130-5 by Thanksgiving. I'm also 5' 9"
I'm excited to be in a Saturday group again!
Aug. 9, 2008: 171.4#
Small gain again, no big deal. Justs shows how erratic my weight can be. I'm going to be an election judge Tuesday, which means I'll be on site that entire day, twelve hours with only the food I can take with me.
Now to read the new posts....
Today, August 9th, I am at 151. A little but of a gain. I need to get back on track!
Dinarly, have fun being an election judge Tuesday.
236 today!
I guess not too bad after a week of vacation and alcohol (not too much!) God bless you dinarly for doing that with the polls. Seems like a boring and thankless job. Glad we have volunteers like you to do it.
I'm eating no more than my alloted cals., exercising, and drinking much more water!! What's wrong with my body?
I'm going to be tacky and check in again--it's still Saturday.
I weighed myself again, and it's 170.6#. Not much difference, but less of a gain.
158.4 (down from 159.8) but my lowest last week was 157.4. so 158 isn't great.
i over did my calories this weekend and drank more alchohol then i should have. (too many empty calories)
hopefully next week will be alot better (1 or 2 lbs.??)
good luck this week, be strong and steady.
Is this thread closed? It seemed as though it is a continuation, if not I'd like to jump in, my official weigh-in's are Saturday mornings so this would be perfect.
tedyzgal, this is a continuation but we stopped for a while so we decided to start fresh. therefore, you can definately join! We are a very welcoming group. Its great that your weigh-ins are already on Saturdays! So just post your stats (starting weight, current weight, goal weight, height, etc.) and welcome to our group!
Ok. So now for my weigh in. I am still at 150 but I just had a week off from eating healthy in which i just went crazy (pizza, whatever i felt like) because i am very stressed right now since the beginning of the school year is now. However, now i am back to eating well and need to figure out how to fit working out back into my schedule! So how is everyone else doing?
Hi, I'm a 58 yr old female, and 01/07 weighed 324 and started trying to eat better, etc. I'm disabled, so not able to exercise much. I do what I can. I joined CC the first time last year I think in 02/07...by 08/07, I had lost about 45 lbs. And then, I would gain and lose the same 5 lbs...and did that for about 6 months. Course, I'm sure I was eating more, and I quit using the CC... I renewed my effort in May 08 at 275..and rejoined cc a couple of weeks ago. .This morning, I weight 246. My first big goal is 220, then 180... I think the Sat weigh in will really help me...
Thanks for the welcome Africalover4ever

So here are my stats: I'm 44, 5'4", female, USA . . .started CC July 19th to lose the same 30 - 35 lbs that I thought I had already kicked to the curb! oh, well here I go again (this time I win, permanently). My SW was 175.2, I was down to 168.6 last week, but at today's weigh-in my CW is 169.4 . . .a gain of 0.8, which was a bummer but I expected it and I'm happy to still be in the 160's. My goal weight is 140. I'm really enjoying CC, I joined the August Exercise Challenge and was surprised to find I really am "challenging" myself to exercise and meet my goal of 750 minutes for the month. So I'm hoping by having to post my weekly weight +/- will motivate me as well to stick with counting cal's and making good choices!
what happened? no one logged in today, what happened w/ anonymous? anyways to the point, i am very happy at 156.0 (down from 158.4 last week) hopefully i can continue to do 2lbs. a week.
hope to hear from more people. good job every one.
