I know my pattern of messing up- Thursday evenings are my one night alone. My husband is out all night. I kinda worry and miss him and can't find anything to better to do with that 4 hrs from 8 pm to midnight. I can't be out cause the kids so, I set at the computer or read a book.
UGH! This is so ridiculous. I end up oh about 10 pm- 12 pm just pigging out. I try and just have a little something to settle my urge. Some protein, more water, just one chocolate, ok another . . . . . . . Before I know it I've had an additional 400 cal! and thatis if I don't hit the chocolate.
*sigh* I'm up for suggestion. What should I do?! I know this is so silly but, it gets me week after week.
maybe if you know this is happen..save up your calories to be eaten from 8-12.
Also, prepare legit healthy but desirable snacks. You can make them your "thursday night snacks" and look forward to them. that planning can also mentally satisfy you..knowing you've indulged in your thursday snacks that you've been planning on eating, waiting to eat all week - hopefully that will stop you from digging any further into your fridge.
It's not silly..some times we need outside help because we're stuck in situations and can't see things clearly..but the answers are simple..save up calories, prepare healthy, satisfying snacks, and feel content after finishing them!
hope that helps!

I agree with what swoodho1 said. If you make Thursday nights something you look forward too, instead of something you dread, each Thursday could become a nice time for you to splurge a little, but healthily!
For example, there are desserts out there that are really low cal and yummy. I love sugar-free jello (10 cals a serving). I prepare the jello in little cups, and then top with cool whip and berries. This comes out under 50 calories, easily.
If you have a Whole Foods nearby, look for the Mini Vanilla Meringues. Each one is 1 calorie, and the serving size is 100 minis! Yes, they are small, but I tend to each 10 and feel satisfied.
Anyway, hope this helped!
i agree with the other members..... thats a good idea ....or you could just try to challenge yourself and have control and be like its thursday nite and im not going to indulge ...and see if each thursday u can go without.....and focus on something else like journaling...or working out ....thats wut i would do and recently started don because id always binge out on junk...so now when i want to do that i just start writing why and / or i just start to work out ...feel alot better now and only binge TOM ...i try not to but that is when i must have it ....also like make a cup of tea...sip on that like warm green tea is good with a lil low cal snack ........well anyways thats just me ... good luck to u.
Being a mom myself... and having this SAME problem (my husband was out last weekend and I sat and watched a movie... had 1/2 bottle of wine and snacks).... here is my best suggestion.
.......... ready?
GO TO BED!
No joke - my god can you imagine the extra 4 hours sleep? You won't worry... you won't eat and you will feel like a million bucks in the morning.
Now if I could only follow my own advice I'd be 15lbs smaller and have less bags under my eyes.
If that doesn't work. I suggest something like air popped popcorn. Super cheap snack.. you can make it on the stove and just let the bowl sit infront of you. There are barely any calories in it and it takes forever to eat (if you just pop one bit in at a time).
GOOD LUCK!
Do something to pamper yourself with the time... the kids are asleep and you have the place to yourself, and there are other ways to treat yourself nicely than just to eat. How about a bubble bath while playing your favourite music? Get ready for bed and curl up early with a good book or with one of your favourite movies, and preplan your eating so that you have something yummy but not outside your calorie allowance to eat, or else find a new hobby that you can do during that time - it's difficult to eat when your hands are fully occupied with something else. Everyone needs 'me time'...
